that_o they_o will_v appear_v more_o proper_a to_o persuade_v the_o contrary_n for_o why_o shall_v he_o go_v to_o hell_n to_o triumph_v over_o they_o over_o who_o he_o have_v triumph_v on_o the_o cross_n and_o why_o shall_v he_o go_v to_o captive_a that_o captivity_n then_o which_o he_o be_v to_o lead_v captive_a when_o he_o ascend_v into_o heaven_n and_o further_o in_o vain_a shall_v we_o pretend_v that_o christ_n descend_v into_o hell_n to_o lead_v captivity_n captive_a if_o we_o withal_o maintain_v that_o when_o he_o descend_v thither_o he_o bring_v none_o away_o that_o be_v captive_a there_o and_o for_o his_o triumph_v over_o his_o enemy_n in_o hell_n sure_o the_o prophet_n david_n intend_v no_o such_o thing_n when_o he_o say_v act_v 2.26_o 27._o therefore_o do_v my_o heart_n rejoice_v and_o my_o tongue_n be_v glad_a because_o thou_o will_v not_o leave_v my_o soul_n in_o hell_n he_o speak_v of_o it_o as_o a_o matter_n of_o joy_n and_o gladness_n as_o a_o matter_n sufficient_a ground_n to_o assign_v either_o of_o these_o for_o the_o end_n of_o his_o suppose_a descent_n but_o to_o come_v close_o to_o the_o matter_n none_o need_v trouble_v themselves_o to_o find_v out_o end_v why_o our_o saviour_n shall_v descend_v thither_o see_v there_o be_v no_o express_a place_n in_o the_o scripture_n where_o the_o holy_a ghost_n say_v that_o christ_n do_v descend_v into_o hell_n the_o place_n of_o the_o damn_a the_o four_o evangelist_n that_o write_v the_o history_n of_o our_o saviour_n make_v no_o mention_n of_o his_o go_v to_o any_o such_o place_n the_o apostle_n paul_n 1_o cor._n 15.1_o 2._o mention_n christ_n death_n burial_n and_o resurrection_n but_o not_o a_o word_n of_o his_o descent_n into_o hell_n this_o be_v no_o part_n of_o the_o gospel_n our_o life_n easy_a and_o delightful_a and_o so_o carry_v its_o reward_n along_o with_o it_o whereas_o a_o turbulent_a discontent_a frame_n of_o spirit_n disorder_n and_o disquiet_v a_o man_n beyond_o all_o expression_n and_o so_o much_o of_o the_o amiableness_n of_o this_o s●●_n 6._o i_o come_v now_o to_o give_v some_o direction_n for_o the_o attain_n of_o it_o 1._o mortify_v pride_n which_o be_v the_o seminary_n of_o many_o sin_n especial_o of_o this_o of_o repine_v compare_v your_o suffering_n and_o your_o sin_n together_o and_o see_v whether_o your_o sin_n be_v not_o far_o more_o than_o of_o one_o of_o the_o ancient_n who_o say_v if_o all_o man_n suffering_n be_v put_v into_o one_o common_a bank_n man_n will_v choose_v rather_o to_o go_v away_o with_o their_o own_o share_n than_o be_v of_o great_a use_n though_o not_o of_o so_o much_o as_o the_o head_n it_o must_v not_o therefore_o complain_v because_o it_o be_v not_o the_o head_n let_v every_o one_o due_o consider_v the_o place_n and_o station_n god_n have_v put_v he_o in_o and_o the_o part_n and_o particular_a duty_n he_o require_v of_o he_o and_o let_v he_o set_v himself_o with_o all_o faithfulness_n to_o perform_v
