thereof_o a_o increase_n of_o the_o error_n and_o see_v i_o pray_v you_o how_o through_o the_o suggegestion_n of_o the_o devil_n they_o be_v more_o rise_n in_o remember_v the_o word_n of_o our_o the_o sun_n but_o of_o this_o more_o afterward_o and_o thus_o may_v we_o now_o in_o the_o orderly_a course_n of_o our_o iniquirie_n proceed_v fâ—om_o the_o holy_a history_n and_o ground_n of_o the_o very_o meet_v indeed_o and_o the_o rather_o because_o the_o misunderstanding_n of_o they_o have_v give_v occasion_n to_o sundry_a error_n among_o many_o that_o have_v not_o advise_o examine_v and_o weigh_v they_o whereby_o it_o have_v come_v to_o pass_v that_o in_o stead_n of_o the_o embrace_n of_o the_o truth_n they_o have_v in_o this_o point_n fancy_v a_o lie_n and_o instead_o of_o believe_v a_o article_n of_o faith_n they_o have_v deceive_v themselves_o with_o a_o imagination_n concern_v that_o which_o never_o be_v do_v nor_o once_o intend_v by_o our_o saviour_n christ_n as_o by_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n we_o shall_v declare_v in_o the_o discourse_n follow_v question_n but_o what_o course_n be_v we_o to_o take_v which_o may_v be_v most_o commodious_a to_o this_o end_n answer_n first_o insomuch_o as_o either_o of_o the_o word_n be_v of_o diverse_a signification_n we_o be_v to_o consider_v from_o the_o holy_a scripture_n which_o those_o signification_n be_v as_o well_o of_o the_o one_o as_o of_o the_o other_o and_o second_o we_o be_v to_o observe_v how_o they_o be_v joint_o to_o be_v understand_v in_o the_o same_o present_a article_n or_o proposition_n according_a to_o the_o same_o the_o holy_a scripture_n of_o god_n that_o be_v in_o what_o sense_n it_o be_v to_o be_v believe_v that_o our_o saviour_n christ_n descend_v into_o hell_n explication_n explication_n the_o course_n be_v good_a and_o therefore_o though_o it_o require_v some_o study_n and_o labour_n and_o will_v peradventure_o seem_v hard_a and_o troublesome_a at_o the_o first_o yet_o see_v through_o the_o blessing_n of_o god_n it_o shall_v in_o the_o end_n be_v find_v worthy_a both_o all_o the_o labour_n and_o also_o all_o the_o trouble_n whatsoever_o shall_v be_v employ_v about_o it_o let_v we_o willing_o use_v all_o diligence_n that_o we_o can_v to_o the_o clear_n of_o the_o same_o for_o if_o we_o shall_v not_o upon_o good_a warrant_n from_o the_o holy_a scripture_n grow_v to_o a_o right_a persuasion_n concern_v the_o true_a meaning_n of_o these_o word_n of_o our_o creed_n how_o may_v we_o profess_v in_o truth_n that_o we_o undoubted_o believe_v the_o same_o as_o a_o article_n of_o our_o faith_n
that_o part_n of_o our_o inquiry_n which_o concern_v the_o duty_n though_o upon_o this_o so_o just_a a_o occasion_n it_o be_v not_o amiss_o that_o we_o touch_v they_o here_o wherefore_o that_o we_o may_v go_v forward_o question_n how_o do_v our_o saviour_n christ_n furthermore_o declare_v his_o tender_a love_n to_o his_o disciple_n and_o therein_o also_o towards_o his_o whole_a church_n answer_n a_o further_a declaration_n hereof_o be_v the_o institution_n of_o his_o holy_a supper_n thereby_o to_o represent_v unto_o his_o disciple_n before_o hand_n and_o to_o apply_v to_o the_o hand_n of_o partly_o while_o yet_o they_o stay_v in_o the_o chamber_n where_o it_o be_v celebrate_v and_o partly_o in_o the_o way_n as_o our_o saviour_n walk_v with_o his_o disciple_n from_o thence_o to_o the_o garden_n of_o gethsemane_n where_o he_o be_v betray_v and_o apprehend_v and_o also_o by_o that_o most_o divine_a prayer_n john_n chap._n 17._o most_o proper_o to_o be_v account_v the_o lord_n own_o prayer_n even_o such_o a_o prayer_n as_o no_o creature_n but_o he_o can_v or_o may_v make_v but_o of_o these_o thing_n we_o shall_v have_v the_o occasion_n renew_v to_o speak_v more_o when_o we_o shall_v come_v to_o the_o comfort_n in_o the_o mean_a while_n let_v we_o proceed_v to_o see_v how_o our_o saviour_n declare_v the_o tenderness_n of_o his_o love_n and_o care_n over_o his_o disciple_n in_o the_o garden_n where_o he_o be_v even_o within_o a_o short_a space_n after_o that_o be_v in_o the_o same_o night_n to_o be_v betray_v and_o apprehend_v question_n how_o may_v that_o be_v this_o also_o from_o the_o other_o three_o peter_n james_n &_o john_n who_o he_o have_v take_v yet_o somewhat_o near_o unto_o he_o than_o he_o have_v do_v the_o rest_n moreover_o though_o his_o trouble_n and_o sorrow_n be_v exceed_v all_o humane_a strength_n to_o endure_v they_o yet_o our_o saviour_n strengthen_v in_o the_o spirit_n do_v not_o forget_v nor_o neglect_n at_o that_o instant_n this_o his_o trouble_n then_o short_o to_o ensue_v verse_n 35.36.37_o and_o after_o all_o this_o when_o he_o himself_o be_v apprehend_v in_o the_o garden_n he_o appease_v the_o rage_n of_o the_o adversary_n against_o peter_n because_o of_o his_o violent_a resistance_n against_o the_o officer_n and_o in_o tender_a regard_n both_o of_o he_o and_o the_o rest_n give_v thâ—m_v a_o evasion_n out_o
