if_o we_o speak_v without_o any_o metaphor_n and_o understand_v our_o word_n according_a to_o their_o proper_a and_o literal_a sense_n or_o signification_n without_o any_o figure_n than_o we_o can_v true_o say_v that_o christ_n be_v a_o vine_n that_o the_o father_n be_v a_o husbandman_n that_o disciple_n be_v branch_n the_o meaning_n than_o be_v only_o this_o that_o christ_n be_v like_o a_o vine_n or_o as_o it_o be_v a_o vine_n yea_o the_o true_a vine_n the_o father_n be_v like_o a_o husbandman_n or_o as_o it_o be_v a_o husbandman_n the_o disciple_n be_v like_o branch_n or_o as_o it_o be_v branch_n they_o therefore_o which_o utter_o reject_v the_o use_n of_o this_o word_n as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o open_n of_o this_o and_o such_o like_a scripture_n do_v not_o right_o divide_v the_o word_n disciple_n be_v as_o it_o be_v branch_n of_o the_o true_a vine_n in_o a_o twofold_a respect_n 1._o in_o respect_n of_o communion_n with_o the_o church_n of_o christ_n in_o the_o outward_a worship_n of_o god_n and_o the_o use_n of_o christ_n ordinance_n thus_o though_o not_o all_o man_n yet_o all_o church-member_n be_v as_o it_o be_v branch_n of_o the_o true_a vine_n and_o so_o to_o be_v look_v upon_o by_o we_o till_o they_o be_v or_o at_o least_o ought_v to_o be_v cast_v out_o of_o the_o church_n for_o their_o manifest_a unfruitfulnesse_n 2._o in_o respect_n of_o true_a communion_n and_o union_n with_o christ_n thus_o only_o true_a believer_n be_v as_o it_o be_v branch_n of_o the_o true_a vine_n and_o so_o look_v upon_o by_o god_n as_o touch_v that_o in_o vers_n 2._o if_o i_o be_v not_o misinform_v it_o be_v word_n for_o word_n every_o branch_n in_o i_o not_o bear_v fruit_n then_o the_o meaning_n may_v be_v this_o every_o branch_n that_o bear_v not_o fruit_n in_o i_o this_o imply_v only_o thus_o much_o that_o there_o be_v church-member_n who_o though_o they_o be_v as_o it_o be_v branch_n of_o the_o true_a vine_n in_o that_o respect_n that_o i_o first_o mention_v and_o so_o to_o we_o in_o christ_n in_o respect_n of_o outward_a profession_n and_o communion_n yet_o do_v not_o bear_v fruit_n in_o christ_n and_o so_o do_v not_o show_v themselves_o to_o be_v real_o in_o christ_n but_o the_o contrary_n these_o the_o father_n take_v away_o viz_o cast_v they_o out_o of_o his_o church_n and_o punish_v they_o with_o eternal_a destruction_n that_o they_o which_o abide_v not_o in_o christ_n be_v never_o in_o he_o real_o appear_v not_o only_o by_o that_o in_o rom._n 8.1_o already_o allege_v but_o also_o by_o these_o scripture_n among_o many_o other_o matth._n 7.23_o heb._n 3.14_o 1_o joh._n 2.27_o ephes_n 1.3_o 4._o etc._n etc._n now_o as_o touch_v this_o conceit_n that_o all_o man_n either_o be_v or_o be_v in_o christ_n i_o will_v demand_v of_o those_o that_o so_o conceive_v whether_o all_o man_n do_v for_o ever_o continue_v in_o christ_n i_o be_o confident_a they_o will_v not_o answer_v affirmative_o as_o see_v clear_o that_o no_o such_o thing_n can_v be_v maintain_v and_o that_o they_o can_v make_v such_o a_o opinion_n to_o agree_v with_o this_o scripture_n no_o not_o by_o their_o own_o interpretation_n of_o the_o same_o i_o will_v therefore_o demand_v of_o they_o in_o the_o second_o place_n when_o they_o which_o perish_v do_v cease_v to_o be_v in_o christ_n whether_o in_o this_o life_n or_o after_o this_o life_n if_o they_o will_v say_v not_o in_o this_o life_n but_o after_o this_o life_n then_o must_v they_o relinquish_v this_o scripture_n which_o speak_v of_o man_n abide_n or_o not_o abide_v in_o christ_n in_o this_o
