careful_o the_o lord_n appli_v unto_o they_o such_o sovereign_a salve_n as_o may_v cure_v the_o wound_n of_o sin_n the_o more_o desperate_a they_o be_v in_o pluck_v they_o off_o again_o that_o they_o may_v rot_v in_o their_o corruption_n the_o more_o mean_n be_v use_v to_o stay_v the_o infection_n of_o this_o contagious_a plague_n the_o more_o it_o spread_v itself_o over_o the_o whole_a country_n and_o as_o these_o sin_n abound_v in_o innumerable_a number_n so_o they_o be_v heinous_a and_o bloody_a in_o respect_n of_o their_o quality_n be_v commit_v in_o the_o high_a degree_n of_o their_o several_a kind_n so_o that_o god_n minister_n in_o our_o time_n may_v just_o complain_v of_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o our_o land_n that_o those_o sin_n of_o swear_v lie_a kill_a etc._n etc._n be_v usual_o commit_v among_o they_o that_o like_a beast_n they_o violent_o break_v out_o and_o blood_n touch_v blood_n whereof_o it_o necessary_o follow_v that_o see_v we_o abound_v in_o these_o sin_n and_o will_v not_o be_v reclaim_v from_o they_o see_v the_o lord_n have_v often_o allure_v we_o by_o his_o innumerable_a benefit_n by_o his_o sweet_a promise_n by_o his_o fatherly_a admonition_n and_o often_o terrify_v we_o by_o his_o severe_a threaten_n &_o fearful_a judgement_n of_o famine_n and_o dearth_n sickness_n and_o pestilence_n and_o yet_o there_o be_v no_o amendment_n and_o reformation_n that_o we_o can_v expect_v no_o other_o but_o that_o the_o lord_n will_v bring_v this_o land_n to_o utter_v destruction_n and_o desolation_n unless_o we_o labour_v to_o prevent_v these_o heavy_a punishment_n by_o turn_v unto_o he_o by_o speedy_a and_o unfeigned_a repentance_n for_o the_o lord_n take_v that_o course_n with_o we_o which_o we_o take_v with_o our_o child_n and_o servant_n first_o he_o contain_v we_o in_o his_o fear_n and_o obedience_n by_o his_o gracious_a benefit_n then_o if_o we_o notwithstanding_o live_v in_o sin_n he_o admonish_v and_o threaten_v we_o and_o if_o this_o will_v not_o reclaim_v we_o than_o he_o correct_v and_o punish_v we_o but_o if_o these_o often_o inflict_v be_v not_o available_a but_o that_o with_o full_a resolution_n we_o will_v desperate_o desolation_n of_o the_o land_n by_o war_n and_o the_o usual_a companion_n thereof_o dearth_n and_o famine_n the_o which_o be_v most_o lively_a and_o emphatical_o express_v in_o diverse_a metaphorical_a and_o hyperbolical_a speech_n the_o which_o i_o will_v expound_v as_o they_o lie_v in_o order_n and_o first_o here_o be_v express_v the_o cause_n of_o their_o punishment_n than_o the_o punishment_n itself_o the_o cause_n of_o their_o punishment_n in_o this_o word_n therefore_o that_o be_v because_o all_o manner_n of_o sin_n both_o of_o omission_n and_o commission_n do_v abound_v in_o the_o land_n and_o the_o people_n be_v desperate_o resolve_v to_o rush_v into_o all_o manner_n of_o wickedness_n notwithstanding_o all_o those_o mean_n which_o i_o have_v use_v to_o reclaim_v in_o two_o borrow_a speech_n the_o first_o in_o these_o word_n the_o land_n shall_v mourn_v as_o though_o he_o shall_v say_v because_o the_o people_n will_v not_o mourn_v for_o their_o sin_n even_o the_o land_n itself_o shall_v mourn_v and_o as_o it_o be_v sigh_v &_o groan_n under_o the_o heavy_a burden_n of_o my_o punishment_n so_o that_o hereby_o he_o impli_v their_o stubborn_a rebellion_n impenitency_n and_o hardness_n of_o hart_n in_o that_o the_o brute_n and_o senseless_a earth_n will_v be_v soon_o affect_v and_o touch_v with_o the_o feel_n of_o god_n judgement_n than_o the_o more_o
