efficacy_n of_o meekness_n stay_v here_o but_o it_o extend_v i●_n self_n further_o to_o the_o qualification_n and_o moderate_n of_o the_o anger_n of_o the_o neighbour_n fo●_n that_o one_o benign_a and_o gentle_a answer_n or_o one_o meek_a action_n be_v enough_o to_o appease_v the_o fury_n of_o any_o enrage_a beast_n to_o say_v nothing_o of_o a_o man_n incense_v to_o anger_n but_o a_o thing_n much_o more_o to_o be_v regard_v meekness_n be_v of_o so_o great_a excellency_n and_o authority_n as_o it_o mount_v up_o to_o heaven_n aver_v the_o anger_n of_o god_n justice_n and_o obtain_v the_o pardon_n of_o most_o grievous_a sin_n woe_n to_o he_o who_o resist_v a_o angry_a man_n more_o mighty_a than_o himself_o 6._o moreover_o the_o life_n of_o the_o meek_a be_v most_o happy_a because_o diligence_n for_o the_o obtain_n of_o meekness_n for_o that_o it_o make_v a_o religious_a man_n like_o unto_o i_o his_o lord_n and_o master_n again_o be_v not_o all_o pain_n well_o take_v in_o procure_v that_o virtue_n that_o be_v no_o less_o please_v to_o i_o than_o it_o be_v profitable_a to_o the_o religious_a himself_n not_o for_o he_o to_o be_v religious_a but_o to_o be_v endue_v with_o virtue_n make_v he_o like_a to_o his_o lord_n and_o master_n and_o for_o the_o lead_n of_o a_o quiet_a &_o peaceable_a life_n it_o be_v not_o enough_o to_o have_v forsake_v the_o world_n but_o a_o man_n need_v further_a to_o bridle_v anger_n and_o the_o passion_n thereof_o 7._o son_n think_v not_o because_o thou_o be_v religious_a that_o thou_o be_v free_a from_o the_o dart_n of_o thy_o enemy_n because_o the_o devil_n take_v more_o pain_n in_o overthrow_v of_o one_o servant_n of_o i_o they_o of_o many_o secular_a person_n the_o same_o enemy_n also_o that_o be_v the_o passion_n and_o perturbation_n of_o the_o mind_n when_o they_o be_v not_o mortify_v do_v give_v the_o religious_a very_o sore_a wound_n and_o therefore_o they_o need_v a_o strong_a and_o sure_a buckler_n for_o the_o receive_n of_o so_o many_o of_o the_o enemy_n blow_n and_o this_o shield_n be_v meekness_n which_o no_o enemy_n force_n can_v possible_o break_v but_o go_v away_o with_o the_o victory_n by_o receive_v their_o blow_n thereon_o it_o cause_v the_o meek_a also_o in_o all_o his_o adversity_n and_o cross_n to_o place_v great_a confidence_n in_o i_o and_o therefore_o while_o he_o continue_v with_o a_o stout_a &_o undaunted_a courage_n he_o do_v not_o easy_o give_v way_n nor_o in_o prosperity_n please_v himself_o overmuch_o and_o this_o be_v to_o hold_v the_o place_n of_o a_o shield_n not_o only_o in_o the_o time_n of_o war_n but_o of_o peace_n also_o a_o target_n profit_v he_o who_o hold_v it_o fast_o but_o he_o that_o easy_o suffer_v it_o to_o be_v strike_v out_o of_o his_o hand_n be_v to_o my_o service_n but_o if_o thou_o be_v not_o meek_a thou_o can_v obtain_v neither_o for_o if_o thou_o shall_v in_o religion_n be_v subject_a to_o anger_n and_o wrath_n thou_o will_v easy_o therein_o contend_v also_o with_o other_o and_o so_o thou_o can_v not_o but_o be_v trouble_v and_o disquiet_v but_o if_o thou_o shall_v be_v meek_a thou_o will_v not_o have_v contention_n with_o any_o and_o with_o thy_o gentle_a and_o mild_a answer_n thou_o shall_v appease_v those_o that_o have_v a_o will_n to_o contend_v meekness_n also_o help_v that_o thou_o may_v be_v affect_v to_o spiritual_a
