it_o hereupon_o david_n heart_n smite_v he_o and_o he_o humble_o confess_v and_o acknowledge_v he_o have_v sin_v great_o and_o do_v foolish_o and_o earnest_o beg_v pardon_n of_o the_o lord_n the_o prophet_n gad_n tell_v he_o that_o the_o lord_n be_v resolve_v severe_o to_o chastise_v he_o but_o yet_o he_o will_v offer_v he_o his_o choice_n of_o three_o judgement_n viz._n either_o year_n either_o in_o 2_o sam._n 24.13_o it_o be_v seven_o year_n famine_n as_o if_o god_n shall_v have_v say_v you_o have_v late_o suffer_v three_o year_n famine_n for_o the_o sin_n of_o saul_n against_o the_o gibeonite_n and_o this_o four_o year_n be_v a_o sabbatical_a year_n have_v a_o harvest_n indeed_o but_o for_o want_v of_o seed_n sow_o a_o very_a poor_a one_o and_o no_o way_n able_a to_o to_o choose_v he_o know_v the_o pestilence_n may_v destroy_v as_o many_o in_o three_o day_n as_o the_o sword_n in_o three_o month_n or_o the_o famine_n in_o three_o year_n but_o at_o last_o he_o choose_v the_o pestilence_n and_o that_o because_o he_o judge_v it_o better_a to_o fall_v into_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n slave_n god_n like_o a_o love_a child_n david_n choose_v to_o be_v chastise_v by_o his_o father_n rather_o than_o by_o the_o hand_n of_o a_o servant_n or_o a_o slave_n who_o mercy_n be_v great_a then_o into_o the_o hand_n of_o man_n it_o be_v true_a the_o sword_n and_o famine_n be_v send_v by_o god_n yet_o in_o they_o he_o use_v other_o instrument_n beside_o and_o when_o the_o lord_n punish_v by_o man_n he_o usual_o suffer_v they_o to_o deal_v with_o great_a severity_n and_o cruelty_n even_o more_o than_o himself_o be_v wont_a to_o deal_v with_o when_o he_o take_v they_o into_o his_o own_o hand_n and_o this_o be_v the_o main_a cause_n why_o david_n choose_v the_o pestilence_n yet_o withal_o this_o be_v to_o be_v observe_v that_o he_o choose_v such_o a_o calamity_n as_o will_v not_o spare_v the_o prince_n any_o more_o than_o the_o people_n for_o no_o antidote_n or_o preservative_n can_v secure_v he_o against_o the_o sword_n of_o the_o angel_n whereas_o in_o war_n he_o may_v have_v get_v into_o some_o strong_a fort_n and_o in_o famine_n may_v have_v store_v up_o provision_n for_o himself_o and_o so_o have_v escape_v but_o what_o fence_n be_v there_o against_o the_o destroy_a angel_n but_o only_o the_o protection_n of_o the_o almighty_a david_n therefore_o have_v choose_v that_o judgement_n the_o lord_n send_v a_o pestilence_n from_o the_o morning_n of_o that_o day_n that_o gad_n come_v first_o to_o he_o until_o the_o evening_n of_o the_o three_o day_n after_o and_o there_o die_v of_o the_o people_n from_o dan_n to_o beersheba_n seventy_o thousand_o and_o thus_o be_v david_n punish_v in_o the_o very_a way_n wherein_o he_o have_v sin_v his_o heart_n be_v proud_a and_o lift_v up_o because_o of_o the_o number_n of_o his_o people_n and_o now_o their_o number_n be_v sad_o diminish_v by_o this_o sore_a judgement_n the_o angel_n go_v
