act_v be_v in_o those_o motive_n themselves_o all_o i_o mean_v in_o opposition_n to_o the_o miracle_n i_o know_v that_o there_o be_v other_o strength_n of_o grace_n but_o those_o do_v help_v as_o well_o the_o miracle_n as_o motive_n those_o have_v influence_n on_o the_o believe_v too_o by_o their_o exciting_a and_o assist_v but_o this_o strength_n which_o may_v be_v common_a to_o both_o be_v not_o to_o be_v consider_v when_o one_o vie_v with_o the_o other_o what_o therefore_o shall_v he_o go_v for_o who_o can_v give_v no_o new_a motive_n nor_o strength_n to_o those_o they_o have_v if_o any_o shall_v not_o be_v confirm_v enough_o in_o that_o which_o moses_n and_o the_o prophet_n say_v how_o shall_v they_o be_v convince_v that_o this_o ghost_n be_v of_o more_o credit_n than_o they_o be_v but_o if_o he_o shall_v be_v so_o far_o heed_v as_o to_o add_v new_a confirmation_n to_o they_o yet_o if_o improbity_n have_v be_v able_a to_o dead_a the_o force_n of_o the_o activity_n of_o hand_n have_v by_o a_o sickness_n or_o by_o some_o sad_a accident_n cast_v to_o the_o very_a brink_n of_o death_n so_o as_o the_o grave_n seem_v to_o begin_v to_o take_v possession_n of_o he_o and_o all_o his_o hope_n sicken_v and_o die_v so_o that_o recovery_n from_o that_o condition_n may_v be_v well_o as_o it_o be_v in_o scripture_n often_o call_v a_o rise_n have_v
and_o by_o that_o miracle_n so_o far_o show_v forth_o his_o power_n that_o in_o probability_n the_o whole_a country_n will_v believe_v on_o he_o they_o fall_v upon_o this_o project_n to_o prevent_v it_o they_o beseech_v he_o if_o he_o will_v cast_v they_o out_o to_o suffer_v they_o to_o go_v into_o a_o herd_n of_o swine_n there_o feed_v hope_v by_o destroy_v they_o to_o incense_v the_o owner_n against_o christ_n and_o to_o try_v they_o he_o permit_v this_o the_o possess_a swine_n run_v violent_o down_o into_o the_o lake_n and_o perish_v now_o a_o man_n will_v think_v the_o virulency_n of_o these_o devil_n which_o be_v so_o destructive_a when_o they_o be_v at_o liberty_n and_o not_o restrain_v will_v have_v endear_v the_o mercy_n that_o have_v cast_v they_o out_o of_o the_o poor_a man_n and_o come_v to_o dispossess_v the_o country_n of_o they_o and_o that_o their_o astonishment_n at_o so_o great_a a_o miracle_n will_v possess_v they_o all_o with_o reverence_n and_o belief_n of_o he_o and_o that_o they_o will_v therefore_o seize_v and_o possess_v he_o also_o and_o not_o let_v the_o mercy_n go_v but_o on_o the_o contrary_a the_o whole_a city_n and_o country_n come_v out_o to_o meet_v jesus_n and_o in_o consideration_n of_o the_o loss_n of_o their_o swine_n desire_v he_o to_o depart_v out_o of_o their_o coast._n lo_o here_o a_o equal_a enemy_n to_o christ_n and_o all_o his_o miracle_n that_o be_v indeed_o too_o hard_o for_o they_o the_o senate_n of_o hell_n have_v no_o project_n to_o keep_v out_o religion_n like_v to_o this_o to_o make_v religion_n thwart_o a_o interest_n rather_o no_o christianity_n than_o lose_v a_o earthly_a satisfaction_n by_o it_o rather_o have_v the_o swine_n than_o christ_n himself_o 4._o but_o if_o he_o chance_v to_o fail_v in_o this_o assault_n as_o by_o our_o saviour_n he_o be_v beat_v off_o he_o have_v yet_o a_o reserve_n in_o which_o he_o place_v his_o last_o strong_a confidence_n with_o which_o he_o venture_v to_o charge_n christ_n when_o it_o be_v probable_a he_o know_v he_o be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n 9_o he_o take_v he_o up_o into_o a_o high_a mountain_n and_o show_v he_o all_o the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o earth_n in_o the_o twinkle_n of_o a_o eye_n and_o the_o glory_n of_o they_o and_o say_v all_z these_o thing_n will_v i_o give_v thou_o he_o think_v it_o be_v impossible_a for_o such_o a_o prospect_n not_o to_o make_v impression_n on_o the_o appetite_n raise_v some_o desire_n or_o stir_v one_o covetous_a or_o ambitious_a thought_n which_o if_o it_o can_v but_o do_v he_o make_v no_o scruple_n then_o to_o clog_v the_o gift_n with_o such_o condition_n as_o that_o there_o all_z these_o thing_n will_v i_o give_v thou_o if_o thou_o will_v fall_v down_o and_o worship_v i_o 5._o it_o be_v say_v indeed_o the_o covetous_a man_n be_v a_o idolater_n and_o here_o we_o see_v the_o god_n he_o do_v do_v homage_n to_o and_o worship_n the_o devil_n do_v require_v that_o those_o who_o he_o give_v wealth_n to_o now_o it_o be_v he_o that_o give_v it_o to_o the_o covetous_a to_o all_o indeed_o that_o get_v it_o with_o injustice_n or_o with_o greediness_n he_o require_v i_o say_v that_o these_o shall_v pay_v all_o their_o religion_n to_o himself_o and_o the_o ambitious_a in_o however_o high_a a_o place_n he_o set_v they_o must_v fall_v down_o to_o he_o and_o true_o these_o two_o disposition_n can_v give_v
