that_o he_o may_v not_o be_v disturb_v in_o his_o own_o spirit_n and_o he_o say_v to_o render_v evil_a for_o evil_n will_v be_v a_o occasion_n of_o disturbance_n to_o his_o own_o spirit_n if_o he_o retain_v wrong_n and_o injury_n it_o will_v prejudice_v his_o health_n and_o bring_v down_o his_o strength_n and_o so_o for_o such_o end_v a_o mere_a natural_a man_n may_v be_v bring_v to_o forgive_v but_o now_o a_o gracious_a heart_n when_o he_o forgive_v he_o eye_v the_o lord_n and_o do_v forgive_v for_o the_o lord_n sake_n he_o eye_v the_o honour_n of_o god_n and_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n that_o so_o he_o may_v do_v something_o for_o the_o lift_n up_o of_o the_o name_n of_o god_n that_o truth_n may_v be_v well_o speak_v of_o that_o god_n and_o his_o way_n and_o christ_n may_v be_v well_o speak_v of_o that_o he_o may_v be_v lift_v up_o in_o the_o world_n answ_n 4._o again_o a_o natural_a man_n when_o he_o have_v forgive_v wrong_v and_o injury_n common_o he_o present_o reflect_v upon_o himself_o and_o be_v lift_v up_o because_o of_o what_o he_o have_v do_v and_o this_o tend_v to_o the_o nourish_a of_o pride_n in_o his_o heart_n and_o ruin_n of_o himself_o as_o jehu_n say_v in_o another_o case_n come_v and_o see_v my_o zeal_n for_o the_o lord_n and_o so_o in_o this_o case_n of_o a_o natural_a man_n when_o he_o have_v forgive_v wrong_v come_v and_o see_v my_o meekness_n come_v and_o see_v my_o patience_n come_v and_o see_v my_o long-suffering_a there_o be_v no_o man_n will_v have_v pass_v by_o such_o a_o wrong_a as_o i_o have_v do_v and_o take_v no_o revenge_n you_o shall_v have_v it_o oft_o repeat_v by_o himself_o and_o that_o be_v a_o aggravation_n after_o he_o have_v do_v it_o because_o he_o make_v it_o his_o work_n to_o lift_v up_o himself_o but_o now_o a_o joseph_n do_v good_a for_o evil_n and_o moses_n do_v good_a for_o evil_n and_o elisha_n do_v good_a for_o evil_n and_o david_n do_v good_a for_o evil_n and_o he_o desire_v herein_o to_o be_v a_o follower_n of_o christ_n and_o to_o come_v up_o to_o his_o duty_n now_o i_o say_v it_o be_v a_o very_a hard_a thing_n for_o a_o natural_a man_n to_o come_v up_o to_o this_o duty_n though_o he_o may_v forgive_v and_o pass_v by_o wrong_n and_o injury_n yet_o to_o requite_v evil_a with_o good_a and_o to_o love_v they_o that_o hate_v he_o and_o to_o pray_v for_o they_o that_o persecute_v he_o and_o unreadiness_n be_v there_o in_o man_n spirit_n to_o come_v up_o unto_o the_o practice_n of_o it_o oh_o how_o many_o be_v there_o in_o the_o world_n that_o do_v not_o only_o come_v short_a of_o walk_v up_o unto_o this_o rule_n but_o do_v walk_v quite_o contrary_a unto_o it_o and_o i_o shall_v show_v you_o who_o they_o be_v and_o oh_o that_o god_n will_v speak_v convince_o unto_o man_n heart_n 1._o a_o offender_n for_o a_o word_n nay_o it_o may_v be_v displease_v for_o want_n of_o a_o look_n or_o for_o want_n of_o a_o compliment_n oh_o how_o contrary_a be_v this_o unto_o the_o rule_n of_o christ_n oh_o how_o far_o be_v such_o spirit_n from_o that_o forbearance_n and_o that_o long-suffering_a that_o the_o gospel_n call_v unto_o where_o be_v the_o grace_n of_o long-suffering_a nay_o such_o spirit_n they_o be_v far_o from_o the_o exercise_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o love_n love_n believe_v all_o thing_n and_o hope_v all_o thing_n make_v the_o best_a interpretation_n of_o all_o all_o that_o they_o take_v in_o hand_n when_o man_n know_v no_o other_o end_n but_o to_o gain_v the_o world_n and_o heap_n up_o riches_n and_o to_o build_v their_o nest_n on_o high_a and_o the_o
