places_z his_o end_n in_o these_o thing_n and_o so_o be_v guilty_a of_o all_o the_o common_a folly_n and_o absurdity_n of_o those_o who_o place_n their_o happiness_n in_o any_o of_o the_o good_a thing_n of_o this_o world_n only_o there_o be_v this_o one_o peculiar_a aggravation_n on_o his_o side_n that_o whereas_o the_o ambitious_a man_n though_o he_o make_v honour_n and_o preferment_n his_o happiness_n yet_o he_o enjoy_v it_o when_o he_o have_v it_o and_o so_o do_v the_o voluptuary_n by_o his_o pleasure_n and_o by_o this_o mean_n though_o they_o lose_v their_o true_a end_n yet_o they_o have_v something_o in_o exchange_n in_o the_o mean_a time_n the_o covetous_a wretch_n though_o he_o make_v wealth_n his_o end_n yet_o he_o when_o he_o have_v it_o enjoy_v it_o no_o more_o than_o he_o do_v when_o it_o lay_v hide_v in_o the_o bowel_n of_o the_o earth_n and_o so_o go_v to_o the_o devil_n for_o nothing_o for_o nothing_o do_v i_o say_v it_o be_v worse_o than_o so_o for_o though_o he_o have_v nothing_o of_o the_o enjoyment_n yet_o he_o will_v bate_v himself_o a_o ace_n of_o the_o trouble_v but_o endure_v all_o the_o pain_n and_o anxiety_n that_o careful_a day_n and_o sleepless_a night_n can_v give_v and_o so_o have_v his_o hell_n here_o and_o hereafter_o too_o the_o truth_n be_v there_o be_v more_o depth_n and_o mystery_n in_o the_o folly_n of_o covetousness_n than_o in_o any_o the_o most_o profound_a wisdom_n in_o the_o world_n other_o folly_n of_o human_a life_n though_o they_o be_v not_o to_o be_v cure_a any_o more_o than_o this_o yet_o they_o may_v be_v account_v for_o and_o though_o they_o do_v overpower_v and_o enslave_v the_o mind_n yet_o they_o do_v not_o baffle_v it_o but_o this_o be_v a_o disease_n that_o have_v such_o variety_n of_o uncertain_a will_v think_v be_v nonsense_n enough_o consider_v the_o vileness_n of_o the_o treasure_n itself_o the_o providence_n of_o god_n the_o shortness_n and_o uncertainty_n of_o life_n the_o transitoriness_n of_o this_o world_n the_o fashion_n of_o which_o be_v always_o pass_v away_o and_o consider_v withal_o the_o very_a little_a that_o nature_n require_v for_o her_o satisfaction_n but_o yet_o it_o be_v something_o tolerable_a if_o the_o wretch_n will_v but_o be_v persuade_v to_o make_v use_n of_o what_o he_o have_v and_o to_o enjoy_v like_o a_o man_n what_o he_o desire_v and_o set_v above_o the_o sphere_n of_o our_o imitation_n yet_o they_o be_v not_o so_o far_o out_o of_o our_o reach_n but_o that_o they_o point_v out_o to_o we_o some_o resemble_v excellence_n and_o may_v be_v imitate_v though_o not_o literal_o yet_o in_o figure_n and_o mystery_n of_o this_o kind_n be_v the_o resurrection_n and_o ascension_n of_o our_o lord_n for_o although_o with_o he_o we_o can_v as_o yet_o loosen_v the_o band_n of_o death_n and_o break_v the_o prison_n of_o the_o grave_a yet_o we_o can_v now_o in_o some_o sense_n rise_v with_o he_o from_o the_o death_n of_o sin_n to_o newness_n of_o life_n and_o be_v by_o his_o resurrection_n not_o only_o enable_v but_o also_o admonish_v to_o do_v so_o and_o although_o as_o to_o his_o bodily_a ascension_n as_o our_o lord_n tell_v st._n peter_n we_o cannor_n follow_v he_o now_o yet_o we_o can_v in_o some_o sense_n ascend_v with_o he_o by_o a_o passionate_a elevation_n of_o our_o thought_n and_o affection_n and_o be_v also_o mystical_o invite_v to_o do_v the_o latter_a from_o the_o contemplation_n of_o the_o former_a the_o local_a and_o bodily_a ascension_n of_o christ_n call_v for_o a_o moral_a and_o spiritual_a ascent_n poverty_n and_o the_o like_a but_o these_o be_v rather_o natural_a than_o moral_a way_n of_o forsake_v the_o world_n and_o it_o be_v considerable_a that_o our_o saviour_n in_o his_o last_o intercession_n for_o his_o disciple_n pray_v not_o 15._o that_o they_o shall_v be_v take_v out_o of_o the_o world_n but_o deliver_v from_o the_o evil_n of_o it_o the_o best_a way_n to_o forsake_v vanity_n and_o insufficiency_n of_o all_o worldly_a object_n to_o the_o purpose_n of_o content_a and_o happiness_n and_o this_o be_v the_o course_n that_o solomon_n take_v to_o convince_v himself_o and_o other_o of_o the_o world_n vanity_n but_o beside_o that_o this_o be_v a_o long_a way_n about_o and_o a_o way_n that_o require_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o time_n and_o a_o great_a deal_n of_o experience_n and_o a_o great_a deal_n of_o meditation_n and_o reflection_n it_o be_v also_o a_o method_n fit_v only_o for_o fine_a and_o more_o elevate_a spirit_n those_o of_o a_o contemplative_a genius_n and_o of_o a_o nice_a discernment_n but_o to_o converse_v in_o heaven_n be_v a_o more_o compendious_a and_o easy_a method_n to_o contemn_v the_o low_a world_n more_o practicable_a to_o the_o common_a fort_n and_o those_o that_o can_v in_o the_o other_o way_n dispute_v and_o demonstrate_v may_v however_o in_o this_o be_v sensible_o convince_v of_o the_o vanity_n of_o the_o world_n the_o earth_n to_o we_o that_o dwell_v upon_o it_o seem_v a_o body_n of_o considerable_a magnitude_n but_o to_o one_o that_o shall_v take_v a_o view_n of_o it_o from_o one_o of_o the_o high_a orb_n it_o will_v appear_v but_o as_o a_o point_n the_o same_o indeed_o may_v be_v demonstrate_v upon_o mathematic_a principle_n but_o every_o one_o be_v not_o capable_a of_o do_v that_o and_o such_o a_o high_a raise_v prospect_n will_v save_v the_o trouble_n and_o so_o it_o be_v in_o the_o case_n before_o we_o this_o world_n consider_v alone_o may_v perhaps_o carry_v with_o it_o a_o specious_a and_o goodly_a appearance_n and_o he_o that_o do_v so_o consider_v it_o will_v need_v reason_n and_o argument_n to_o convince_v he_o of_o its_o vanity_n but_o it_o be_v but_o to_o converse_v a_o little_a in_o the_o other_o world_n and_o take_v a_o view_n of_o it_o from_o thence_o and_o it_o will_v all_v without_o any_o more_o ado_n shrink_v almost_o into_o nothing_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v not_o without_o reason_n that_o the_o divine_a philosopher_n style_v philosophy_n the_o theory_n of_o death_n for_o certain_o the_o contemplation_n of_o the_o other_o state_n be_v the_o most_o compendious_a have_v his_o conversation_n in_o heaven_n second_o this_o be_v the_o best_a remedy_n to_o support_v we_o under_o the_o evil_a of_o this_o present_a life_n as_o it_o lessen_v the_o good_a so_o it_o lessen_v the_o evil_a of_o it_o too_o and_o will_v serve_v to_o support_v we_o under_o
