people_n in_o christ_n jesus_n and_o in_o he_o become_v their_o god_n and_o take_v they_o into_o that_o happy_a relation_n of_o be_v his_o people_n his_o peculiar_a treasure_n and_o child_n and_o all_o your_o scripture_n if_o now_o you_o look_v on_o they_o again_o do_v hold_v forth_o this_o and_o can_v speak_v no_o other_o truth_n what_o infirmity_n be_v this_o can_v god_n take_v a_o people_n into_o covenant_n with_o himself_o and_o become_v their_o god_n and_o father_n in_o christ_n his_o son_n and_o yet_o govern_v and_o put_v they_o under_o the_o law_n but_o we_o must_v then_o infer_v either_o that_o all_o his_o grace_n and_o favour_n be_v conditional_a or_o else_o the_o law_n we_o be_v make_v to_o live_v under_o for_o a_o time_n be_v a_o covenant_n of_o grace_n argn._n 2_o mr._n b._n if_o we_o consider_v the_o good_a thing_n annex_v to_o this_o covenant_n it_o must_v needs_o be_v a_o covenant_n of_o grace_n for_o there_o we_o have_v remission_n of_o sin_n whereas_o in_o the_o covenant_n of_o work_n there_o be_v no_o way_n for_o repentance_n or_o pardon_n in_o the_o second_o commandment_n god_n be_v describe_v to_o show_v mercy_n to_o thousand_o etc._n etc._n answ_n if_o god_n promise_v and_o show_v mercy_n in_o this_o way_n of_o obedience_n as_o we_o parent_n also_o common_o do_v deal_v with_o our_o child_n look_v pleasant_o upon_o they_o use_v they_o kind_o etc._n etc._n when_o we_o find_v they_o most_o dutiful_a and_o tender_v and_o receive_v they_o lovingly_z and_o gentle_o upon_o their_o submission_n after_o some_o fail_v will_v you_o so_o far_o forget_v the_o truth_n and_o yourself_o as_o to_o infer_v and_o conclude_v thence_o that_o the_o covenant_n be_v establish_v on_o our_o obedience_n it_o be_v one_o word_n and_o way_n by_o which_o we_o be_v beget_v and_o become_v child_n to_o god_n our_o father_n and_o he_o may_v rule_v we_o and_o show_v we_o favour_n by_o another_o word_n and_o way_n especial_o whilst_o we_o be_v in_o minority_n as_o gal._n 4.1_o 2_o 3._o and_o what_o can_v keep_v the_o child_n of_o israel_n in_o the_o conscience_n of_o their_o many_o fault_n and_o fail_n from_o despair_n or_o what_o can_v erect_v their_o spirit_n
