heart_n by_o the_o gospel_n this_o be_v a_o sure_a argument_n that_o it_o be_v the_o truth_n of_o god_n which_o you_o hear_v though_o all_o the_o world_n and_o the_o pope_n himself_o shall_v cry_v against_o it_o brief_o as_o in_o these_o word_n he_o commend_v the_o gospel_n so_o he_o commend_v the_o colossian_n because_o they_o receive_v it_o and_o continue_v in_o the_o same_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n when_o he_o give_v thou_o a_o grace_n he_o will_v fall_v out_o in_o commend_v of_o thou_o and_o this_o testify_v a_o wonderful_a love_n and_o mercy_n in_o god_n and_o of_o his_o like_n of_o procure_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n everlasting_a much_o more_o the_o temporal_a well_o thou_o think_v simple_a fornication_n a_o single_a man_n with_o a_o single_a woman_n it_o be_v but_o a_o small_a fault_n but_o the_o apostle_n say_v fornication_n if_o thou_o lie_v in_o it_o it_o will_v thrust_v thou_o down_o into_o hell_n sin_n in_o any_o sort_n or_o measure_n will_v procure_v the_o wrath_n alas_o can_v the_o harlot_n repent_v he_o of_o his_o sin_n he_o will_v be_v save_v can_v the_o murderer_n repent_v he_o of_o his_o murder_n he_o will_v be_v save_v can_v the_o avaricious_a repent_v he_o of_o his_o avarice_n he_o will_v not_o be_v under_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n for_o there_o be_v no_o sin_n so_o great_a but_o if_o repentance_n follow_v there_o be_v grace_n penitent_a the_o great_a sin_n be_v pardonable_a to_o the_o penitent_a for_o thou_o repent_v thou_o then_o of_o thy_o sin_n as_o thou_o know_v it_o and_o ask_v mercy_n in_o the_o lord_n jesus_n and_o if_o thou_o do_v this_o thou_o shall_v be_v save_v and_o free_a from_o the_o wrath_n of_o this_o great_a god_n for_o of_o all_o sin_n in_o the_o world_n the_o sin_n that_o be_v accompany_v with_o impenitency_n be_v this_o that_o if_o thou_o slay_v not_o the_o sin_n that_o be_v within_o thou_o shall_v be_v slay_v by_o it_o for_o ever_o begin_v then_o in_o order_n to_o the_o slay_v of_o sin_n for_o there_o be_v that_o it_o bud_v not_o in_o thou_o this_o way_n god_n begin_v in_o take_v away_o sin_n and_o slay_v of_o it_o and_o this_o be_v the_o way_n that_o the_o elect_a child_n of_o god_n do_v but_o hypocrite_n will_v make_v a_o well_o favour_v outward_a countenance_n and_o who_o be_v so_o holy_a as_o they_o without_o hypocrisy_n begin_v without_o and_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n will_v be_v foster_a the_o filth_n of_o this_o foul_a life_n of_o sin_n inward_o in_o his_o heart_n with_o pleasure_n but_o the_o holy_a spirit_n who_o begin_v to_o mortify_v thou_o begin_v at_o the_o heart_n and_o slay_v the_o man_n of_o sin_n in_o thy_o heart_n first_o and_o he_o will_v wound_v it_o so_o deep_o when_o he_o shall_v strike_v upon_o it_o that_o he_o shall_v mortify_v it_o and_o then_o thou_o shall_v begin_v to_o see_v thy_o own_o filth_n and_o stink_n in_o such_o sort_n that_o thou_o shall_v abhor_v thyself_o but_o the_o hypocrite_n count_n all_o these_o thing_n but_o as_o word_n of_o office_n but_o o_o that_o doleful_a wake_n when_o the_o conscience_n waken_v thou_o it_o will_v cause_v thou_o say_v o_o foul_a harlot_n what_o have_v thou_o be_v do_v walk_v in_o harlotry_n and_o deceive_a man_n with_o a_o show_n of_o godlinesie_n therefore_o happy_a be_v the_o soul_n that_o be_v this_o wise_a waken_v in_o time_n and_o wound_v with_o the_o sight_n of_o thy_o own_o filthiness_n for_o it_o shall_v procure_v joy_n come_v upon_o sorrow_n if_o thou_o will_v be_v content_a to_o restrain_v thy_o hand_n foot_n and_o eye_n for_o a_o time_n so_o that_o thou_o sin_v not_o open_o as_o other_o do_v but_o that_o thy_o life_n that_o lurk_v in_o thou_o must_v utter_v itself_o at_o the_o last_o so_o as_o thou_o may_v be_v a_o fornicator_n a_o murderer_n and_o a_o avaritious_a body_n for_o there_o be_v no_o hypocrite_n but_o he_o must_v utter_v himself_o at_o the_o last_o thou_o have_v no_o true_a mortification_n in_o thou_o and_o therefore_o thou_o shall_v find_v no_o comfort_n in_o all_o thy_o outward_a show_n study_n then_o to_o this_o 〈◊〉_d mortification_n suppose_v a_o man_n to_o be_v bind_v hand_n and_o foot_n and_o that_o the_o man_n be_v a_o harlot_n in_o the_o inward_a man_n so_o as_o he_o have_v no_o use_n of_o the_o outward_a action_n in_o all_o his_o life_n time_n admit_v this_o that_o thou_o have_v not_o the_o outward_a action_n in_o all_o thy_o time_n yet_o i_o say_v if_o that_o life_n of_o harlotry_n be_v in_o thou_o and_o not_o slay_v within_o thou_o thou_o will_v to_o hell_n it_o will_v not_o be_v that_o outward_a abstinence_n that_o will_v save_v thou_o but_o it_o must_v be_v the_o slaughter_n of_o the_o inward_a appetite_n and_o then_o the_o hand_n nor_o no_o other_o of_o thy_o member_n need_v to_o be_v fetter_v but_o all_o will_v be_v peaceable_a and_o stand_v still_o when_o once_o that_o life_n of_o sin_n be_v quench_v therefore_o slay_v ever_o the_o sin_n in_o thy_o soul_n and_o let_v it_o not_o reign_v for_o if_o it_o reign_v thou_o will_v to_o damnation_n we_o beseech_v he_o that_o be_v able_a to_o work_v this_o work_n to_o put_v to_o his_o hand_n and_o do_v it_o for_o all_o the_o word_n of_o the_o can_v stand_v with_o that_o life_n of_o heaven_n the_o second_o argument_n be_v take_v from_o that_o death_n in_o hell_n if_o heaven_n will_v not_o move_v thou_o to_o mortify_v thy_o earthly_a shoulder_n and_o see_v that_o life_n thou_o live_v in_o it_o shall_v be_v a_o motive_n to_o thou_o to_o mortify_v thy_o member_n and_o foul_a affection_n for_o if_o thou_o do_v it_o not_o thou_o to_o slay_v for_o in_o other_o place_n also_o he_o use_v these_o word_n indifferent_o the_o word_n be_v borrow_v the_o first_o word_n of_o mortify_v from_o thing_n that_o be_v subject_a to_o the_o slaughter_n and_o the_o word_n of_o put_v away_o be_v borrow_v from_o away_o 1_o put_v you_o away_o clothing_n that_o be_v put_v away_o off_o a_o man_n so_o brethren_n as_o sin_n be_v a_o old_a man_n as_o paul_n say_v have_v life_n it_o have_v life_n as_o every_o thing_n have_v life_n and_o therefore_o be_v slay_v even_o so_o thy_o sin_n be_v a_o botch_v clothing_n a_o clout_n and_o a_o filthy_a hearty_o as_o to_o the_o lord_n as_o if_o he_o will_v say_v when_o you_o be_v do_v and_o labour_v think_v not_o with_o yourselves_o i_o be_o serve_v man_n or_o woman_n a_o creature_n though_o he_o be_v a_o king_n in_o my_o service_n but_o say_v i_o be_o serve_v my_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n then_o you_o servant_n whatsoever_o thing_n you_o do_v though_o it_o be_v but_o sweep_v the_o house_n say_v all_o this_o that_o i_o be_o do_v how_o vile_a soever_o it_o be_v i_o be_o do_v it_o to_o my_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n have_v thy_o eye_n lift_v up_o when_o thy_o hand_n be_v down_o i_o shall_v tell_v thou_o how_o thou_o shall_v get_v it_o if_o thou_o have_v a_o respect_n to_o his_o will_n howbeit_o immediate_o it_o be_v not_o do_v to_o he_o yet_o if_o thou_o have_v the_o knowledge_n that_o it_o be_v his_o will_n that_o thou_o shall_v do_v so_o the_o lord_n take_v that_o service_n rather_o do_v to_o himself_o then_o to_o thy_o master_n therefore_o the_o apostle_n say_v serve_v christ_n and_o not_o man_n well_o be_v that_o servant_n that_o can_v say_v i_o do_v this_o to_o obey_v thy_o bless_a will_n and_o then_o the_o lord_n will_v say_v i_o give_v thou_o thy_o reward_n then_o the_o lesson_n be_v who_o be_v he_o that_o do_v hearty_a service_n none_o but_o the_o servant_n of_o jesus_n christ_n if_o thou_o be_v not_o his_o servant_n thou_o shall_v never_o be_v a_o hearty_a servant_n to_o man_n nor_o a_o true_a subject_n to_o the_o king_n look_v then_o if_o your_o servant_n can_v serve_v christ_n and_o if_o they_o can_v it_o be_v a_o evil_a token_n they_o can_v serve_v thou_o for_o there_o be_v not_o a_o faithful_a servant_n but_o he_o that_o be_v the_o servant_n of_o christ_n and_o in_o his_o service_n have_v ever_o his_o eye_n to_o the_o will_n of_o christ_n and_o if_o thou_o have_v such_o a_o servant_n than_o thou_o shall_v have_v a_o blessing_n of_o that_o servant_n though_o it_o be_v but_o a_o kitchen_n lass_n o_o bless_a be_v that_o house_n that_o have_v a_o servant_n that_o fear_v the_o lord_n and_o love_v the_o lord_n yea_o a_o great_a blessing_n follow_v that_o servant_n then_o follow_v the_o master_n oftentimes_o now_o follow_v the_o argument_n to_o move_v they_o to_o this_o holy_a servant_n argument_n to_o move_v servant_n service_n the_o first_o be_v from_o the_o reward_n that_o the_o faithful_a servant_n shall_v receive_v know_v that_o of_o the_o lord_n you_o shall_v receive_v the_o reward_n of_o the_o inheritance_n the_o argument_n be_v take_v not_o from_o a_o hire_n they_o get_v present_o but_o from_o a_o promise_n of_o a_o hire_n now_o certain_o thou_o be_v a_o wicked_a servant_n that_o will_v not_o do_v a_o turn_v till_o thou_o get_v thy_o hire_n in_o thy_o hand_n thou_o be_v a_o wicked_a servant_n that_o will_v do_v nothing_o till_o thou_o get_v heaven_n in_o thy_o hand_n i_o tell_v thou_o thou_o shall_v never_o get_v heaven_n if_o thou_o can_v depend_v upon_o a_o promise_n of_o heaven_n there_o be_v here_o then_o a_o promise_n of_o a_o hire_n and_o a_o reward_n from_o who_o the_o apostle_n say_v not_o your_o earthly_a master_n will_v pay_v you_o no_o but_o he_o say_v your_o lord_n of_o heaven_n shall_v reward_v you_o why_o speak_v he_o so_o because_o he_o dare_v not_o promise_v of_o earthly_a man_n for_o all_o man_n be_v liar_n &_o they_o will_v oft_o time_n hold_v back_o the_o hire_n of_o the_o servant_n but_o he_o promise_v in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n for_o he_o be_v faithful_a and_o therefore_o servant_n you_o shall_v rejoice_v in_o this_o for_o howbeit_o thou_o want_v thy_o earthly_a hire_n yet_o be_v faithful_a in_o thy_o service_n and_o thou_o shall_v not_o want_v thy_o hire_n what_o a_o reward_n be_v this_o what_o shall_v he_o have_v his_o hire_v in_o his_o hand_n and_o so_o fare_v you_o well_o indeed_o this_o be_v the_o fashion_n of_o the_o world_n but_o this_o reward_n the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o be_v a_o reward_n of_o a_o inheritance_n o_o thou_o that_o will_v have_v a_o eye_n to_o the_o lord_n of_o heaven_n he_o will_v not_o reward_v thou_o like_o a_o servant_n thou_o shall_v be_v a_o son_n and_o therefore_o a_o inheritor_n rom._n 8._o 17._o and_o go_v you_o say_v christ_n inherit_v that_o kingdom_n prepare_v for_o you_o from_o the_o foundation_n of_o the_o world_n matth._n 25._o 34._o yea_o shall_v the_o kitchen_n lass_n be_v make_v a_o queen_n and_o a_o silly_a simple_a boy_n a_o king_n yes_o the_o lord_n will_v do_v that_o and_o will_v give_v they_o a_o kingdom_n in_o heaven_n so_o first_o rejoice_v for_o the_o certainty_n of_o your_o reward_n next_o for_o the_o greatness_n of_o it_o it_o be_v not_o a_o hire_n and_o a_o bounty_n that_o be_v small_a in_o value_n alas_o it_o may_v be_v thou_o think_v little_a of_o it_o because_o thou_o have_v it_o not_o in_o thy_o hand_n but_o bless_v be_v thou_o if_o thou_o cause_v wait_v upon_o the_o promise_n and_o believe_v it_o now_o to_o prove_v that_o they_o shall_v get_v this_o reward_n first_o he_o take_v a_o argument_n from_o their_o own_o knowledge_n know_v know_v you_o not_o i_o appeal_v to_o your_o own_o conscience_n if_o there_o be_v not_o a_o reward_n lay_v up_o for_o thou_o if_o thou_o serve_v faithful_o tell_v not_o thy_o conscience_n thou_o this_o i_o will_v serve_v for_o i_o look_v for_o a_o kingdom_n it_o be_v not_o this_o small_a hire_n no_o that_o lord_n who_o i_o have_v serve_v from_o morning_n to_o night_n he_o will_v give_v i_o a_o kingdom_n brethren_n it_o be_v a_o thing_n impossible_a that_o faith_n can_v beguile_v a_o man_n hope_v then_o i_o promise_v thou_o thy_o hope_n shall_v not_o beguile_v thou_o yea_o hope_v for_o thing_n thou_o have_v not_o see_v and_o thou_o shall_v get_v they_o it_o be_v impossible_a well_o note_v well_o that_o thy_o faith_n and_o hope_n can_v be_v disappoint_v and_o lay_v this_o ground_n thou_o have_v to_o do_v with_o a_o faithful_a lord_n that_o can_v not_o beguile_v thou_o so_o close_o thy_o eye_n upon_o all_o other_o thing_n and_o rest_n in_o hope_n on_o christ_n and_o thou_o shall_v see_v a_o joyful_a end_n bless_a be_v that_o soul_n that_o rest_v in_o hope_n for_o it_o shall_v receive_v glory_n the_o second_o argument_n be_v from_o the_o service_n do_v to_o christ_n you_o serve_v the_o lord_n fie_o on_o thou_o that_o will_v begin_v to_o serve_v another_o master_n and_o neglect_v thy_o duty_n to_o he_o so_o the_o argument_n be_v because_o thou_o serve_v the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n therefore_o thou_o must_v have_v a_o reward_n of_o he_o he_o will_v give_v thou_o a_o heritage_n because_o his_o hand_n be_v the_o hand_n of_o a_o infinite_a god_n what_o be_v the_o heritage_n on_o the_o earth_n he_o think_v it_o over_o little_a to_o give_v they_o to_o thou_o therefore_o he_o will_v give_v thou_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n then_o mark_v never_o man_n serve_v christ_n
