think_v that_o no_o body_n else_o be_v they_o get_v nothing_o at_o the_o table_n of_o the_o lord_n nor_o at_o the_o throne_n of_o grace_n but_o come_v away_o as_o dead_a heart_a with_o their_o corruption_n as_o strong_a and_o they_o continue_v as_o ignorant_a of_o the_o my_o stery_n of_o christ_n and_o life_n and_o as_o unable_a to_o pray_v or_o do_v god_n any_o service_n as_o formerly_z and_o therefore_o it_o be_v thus_o with_o they_o they_o think_v it_o be_v thus_o with_o every_o body_n else_o yea_o that_o there_o be_v no_o such_o good_a as_o man_n speak_v of_o to_o be_v get_v in_o haunt_n of_o expense_n to_o save_v their_o credit_n with_o their_o friend_n and_o such_o as_o will_v else_o be_v ready_a to_o tax_v they_o for_o ill_a husbandry_n in_o come_v away_o without_o clothes_n on_o their_o back_n or_o money_n in_o their_o purse_n they_o to_o save_v their_o credit_n and_o avoid_v blame_n unjust_o accuse_v that_o service_n they_o dwell_v in_o &_o say_v that_o it_o be_v a_o stroy_n and_o waste_v service_n much_o work_n and_o little_a wage_n that_o there_o be_v nothing_o to_o be_v get_v in_o it_o and_o the_o like_a think_v thereby_o to_o escape_v free_a from_o blame_n which_o it_o be_v true_a they_o may_v do_v with_o those_o that_o know_v not_o the_o service_n but_o not_o with_o those_o that_o know_v how_o good_a and_o profitable_a a_o service_n it_o be_v not_o acknowledge_v that_o they_o get_v this_o by_o attend_v upon_o the_o mean_n and_o ordinance_n but_o rather_o impute_v it_o to_o good_a education_n to_o the_o strength_n of_o their_o memory_n and_o other_o ability_n of_o their_o own_o when_o they_o see_v other_o have_v get_v power_n over_o their_o passion_n and_o corruption_n whilst_o they_o remain_v still_o harebrained_a and_o furious_a proceed_v first_o then_o trial_n then_o difference_n or_o trial_n though_o there_o be_v some_o such_o thought_n as_o these_o in_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o godly_a touch_v the_o vanity_n of_o god_n service_n as_o if_o it_o be_v labour_n lose_v that_o be_v take_v therein_o yet_o these_o thought_n be_v only_o inject_v and_o cast_v in_o by_o satan_n and_o do_v only_o swim_v and_o flutter_v up_o and_o down_o in_o the_o mind_n but_o be_v not_o seat_v and_o settle_v in_o the_o heart_n though_o the_o soul_n make_v some_o question_n about_o this_o yet_o it_o be_v not_o full_o settle_v and_o persuade_v of_o it_o that_o so_o it_o be_v but_o the_o carnal_a heart_n and_o the_o wicked_a be_v for_o they_o have_v it_o root_v and_o fasten_v as_o a_o firm_a principle_n in_o they_o that_o thus_o it_o be_v now_o there_o be_v a_o wondrous_a wide_a difference_n between_o doubt_n and_o resolution_n and_o they_o be_v easy_a to_o be_v discern_v by_o such_o a_o one_o as_o be_v not_o willing_a to_o be_v deceive_v the_o second_o difference_n be_v this_o namely_o trial_n namely_o difference_n or_o trial_n that_o though_o there_o be_v some_o such_o thought_n as_o these_o in_o some_o of_o god_n people_n yet_o they_o be_v not_o touch_v the_o service_n of_o god_n itself_o but_o about_o their_o purticular_a service_n of_o god_n they_o do_v not_o think_v that_o it_o be_v in_o vain_a for_o other_o for_o every_o body_n or_o in_o it_o self_n to_o serve_v god_n but_o all_o their_o fear_n be_v that_o it_o be_v in_o vain_a to_o they_o they_o do_v not_o make_v the_o least_o question_n but_o that_o there_o be_v those_o that_o do_v speed_n in_o prayer_n reap_v much_o profit_n by_o the_o ordinance_n and_o be_v much_o the_o better_a for_o
serve_v the_o lord_n only_o they_o say_v that_o they_o themselves_o be_v never_o the_o better_a they_o think_v they_o hear_v and_o pray_v and_o do_v all_o in_o vain_a whereas_o carnal_a heart_n and_o such_o as_o be_v naught_o they_o do_v not_o accuse_v or_o condemn_v their_o own_o particular_a serve_v of_o god_n but_o the_o service_n of_o god_n itself_o in_o general_a as_o here_o in_o the_o text_n you_o have_v say_v it_o be_v vain_a or_o a_o vain_a thing_n to_o serve_v the_o lord_n now_o there_o be_v a_o wide_a difference_n in_o this_o also_o easy_a to_o be_v discern_v and_o let_v every_o soul_n try_v itself_o by_o this_o sign_n three_o trial_n three_o difference_n or_o trial_n though_o there_o be_v such_o thought_n as_o be_v speak_v of_o to_o be_v find_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o god_n people_n yet_o they_o be_v not_o such_o as_o beat_v they_o off_o from_o the_o use_n of_o mean_n read_v hear_v pray_v and_o the_o like_a but_o they_o will_v still_o serve_v the_o lord_n though_o the_o fear_v the_o loss_n of_o their_o labour_n in_o their_o serve_v of_o he_o though_o they_o fear_v they_o pray_v but_o in_o vain_a yet_o they_o will_v pray_v still_o and_o so_o for_o other_o duty_n many_o poor_a soul_n have_v complain_v much_o of_o their_o unprofitablenes_n in_o god_n service_n that_o they_o have_v but_o lose_v their_o labour_n and_o all_o in_o vain_a which_o they_o have_v do_v and_o the_o like_a whereupon_o for_o their_o trial_n they_o have_v be_v ask_v after_o this_o manner_n why_o do_v you_o not_o then_o give_v over_o why_o do_v you_o hear_v or_o pray_v still_o to_o which_o they_o have_v make_v answer_n that_o they_o can_v do_v no_o otherwise_o though_o i_o fear_v it_o be_v but_o in_o vain_a to_o pray_v yet_o i_o can_v but_o pray_v hear_v confer_v and_o the_o pretence_n for_o his_o sloth_n that_o the_o service_n of_o god_n be_v in_o vain_a that_o so_o with_o the_o more_o peace_n and_o quiet_a he_o may_v sit_v still_o and_o fold_v up_o his_o hand_n and_o so_o he_o do_v so_o that_o his_o thought_n about_o the_o vanity_n of_o the_o service_n of_o god_n do_v beat_v he_o off_o and_o out_o of_o the_o service_n itself_o and_o this_o be_v a_o great_a difference_n four_o there_o be_v difference_n in_o the_o effect_n of_o these_o thought_n trial_n thought_n difference_n or_o trial_n for_o in_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o godly_a they_o be_v soon_o suffer_v they_o not_o to_o settle_v upon_o your_o heart_n this_o be_v the_o brand_n of_o a_o carnal_a heart_n o_o let_v it_o not_o be_v set_v upon_o any_o of_o you_o that_o have_v any_o truth_n of_o grace_n in_o you_o if_o the_o devil_n can_v but_o fasten_v such_o thought_n upon_o any_o of_o you_o as_o to_o make_v you_o think_v or_o fear_v that_o the_o service_n of_o god_n be_v in_o vain_a he_o will_v easy_o prevail_v with_o you_o either_o whole_o to_o forsake_v it_o or_o else_o to_o be_v very_o remiss_a and_o negligent_a in_o it_o simil._n if_o a_o man_n be_v sick_a and_o weak_a and_o he_o be_v prejudice_v against_o man_n and_o mean_n and_o persuade_v that_o no_o physician_n or_o physic_n can_v do_v he_o good_a that_o man_n be_v in_o the_o high_a way_n to_o death_n for_o either_o he_o
