perhaps_o say_v that_o this_o effusion_n of_o spirit_n may_v often_o be_v without_o pleasure_n that_o anger_n which_o cast_v they_o into_o the_o face_n that_o grief_n which_o draw_v they_o to_o the_o disease_a part_n and_o that_o the_o fever_n which_o drive_v they_o everywhere_o with_o impetuosity_n afterward_o disperse_v they_o and_o cause_v the_o same_o alteration_n which_o joy_n imprint_n on_o before_o its_o object_n so_o that_o it_o be_v not_o to_o be_v do_v without_o violence_n and_o have_v certify_v that_o there_o be_v none_o in_o the_o effusion_n of_o the_o spirit_n we_o can_v escape_v the_o reproach_n to_o have_v speak_v contrary_a to_o truth_n and_o against_o ourselves_o yet_o it_o be_v very_o easy_a to_o answer_v this_o objection_n remember_v that_o joy_n and_o love_n be_v inseparable_a and_o that_o these_o two_o passion_n be_v for_o that_o cause_n often_o consider_v as_o if_o they_o be_v but_o one_o only_a these_o motion_n be_v also_o confound_v with_o their_o effect_n all_o to_o be_v find_v in_o anger_n for_o this_o be_v never_o without_o boldness_n boldness_n without_o hope_n nor_o hope_v without_o desire_n and_o although_o desire_v presuppose_v love_n yet_o we_o can_v say_v that_o love_n be_v to_o be_v find_v in_o anger_n because_o it_o have_v a_o contrary_a motion_n to_o the_o rest_n so_o that_o common_o neither_o that_o nor_o hatred_n at_o the_o same_o moment_n be_v to_o be_v find_v with_o boldness_n but_o must_v pass_v from_o the_o one_o to_o the_o other_o as_o have_v be_v already_o say_v in_o the_o former_a discourse_n which_o be_v sometime_o it_o be_v also_o certain_a that_o in_o those_o that_o be_v natural_o timorous_a the_o great_a heart_n denote_v also_o the_o great_a timidity_n we_o must_v then_o say_v that_o the_o greatness_n of_o the_o heart_n do_v nothing_o of_o itself_o as_o to_o the_o courage_n and_o that_o we_o must_v add_v thereunto_o the_o abundance_n of_o heat_n and_o spirit_n for_o if_o the_o heart_n be_v great_a and_o and_o as_o many_o spirit_n as_o that_o which_o be_v great_a it_o will_v make_v a_o more_o boil_a and_o a_o more_o impetuous_a courage_n because_o the_o heat_n be_v more_o active_a when_o it_o be_v a_o little_a natural_a heat_n work_v less_o effect_n in_o a_o great_a and_o large_a heart_n then_o in_o one_o that_o be_v little_a and_o restrain_v wherefore_o although_o timidity_n be_v common_a to_o both_o it_o appear_v less_o in_o this_o and_o be_v great_a in_o the_o great_a we_o have_v now_o nothing_o to_o add_v to_o the_o understanding_n of_o this_o business_n but_o to_o resolve_v two_o very_a considerable_a doubt_n which_o may_v arise_v from_o the_o former_a discourse_n for_o if_o the_o courage_n consist_v in_o the_o disposition_n we_o have_v now_o speak_v of_o two_o thing_n will_v not_o only_o in_o the_o irascible_a virtue_n but_o that_o it_o suppose_v also_o in_o it_o a_o certain_a disposition_n which_o make_v it_o the_o more_o easy_o operate_v for_o a_o animal_n be_v not_o the_o lung_n be_v when_o it_o be_v kindle_v in_o those_o part_n as_o for_o the_o first_o all_o physician_n be_v agree_v that_o the_o pulse_n herein_o be_v great_a high_a quick_a frequent_a and_o vehement_a and_o that_o the_o violence_n of_o the_o heat_n and_o force_v of_o the_o vital_a faculty_n be_v the_o principal_a cause_n of_o all_o these_o difference_n but_o although_o all_o this_o be_v true_a yet_o we_o may_v say_v that_o this_o kind_n of_o pulse_n be_v not_o proper_a and_o particular_a to_o anger_n since_o it_o be_v also_o to_o be_v find_v in_o boldness_n as_o we_o declare_v treat_v of_o that_o passion_n and_o that_o certain_o there_o must_v be_v somewhat_o which_o hitherto_o have_v not_o be_v observe_v which_o distinguish_v it_o from_o this_o there_o be_v no_o probability_n that_o these_o two_o passion_n shall_v diverse_o agitate_v the_o soul_n and_o the_o spirit_n without_o cause_v also_o in_o the_o heart_n and_o in_o the_o artery_n different_a motion_n it_o be_v therefore_o certain_a that_o in_o both_o of_o they_o the_o pulse_n be_v great_a and_o high_a but_o in_o boldness_n it_o be_v full_a and_o extent_v and_o we_o may_v feel_v the_o artery_n under_o our_o finger_n which_o swell_v every_o way_n instead_o that_o in_o anger_n it_o put_v all_o her_o endeavour_n forward_o and_o without_o enlarge_n itself_o it_o dart_v itself_o outward_o make_v themselves_o certain_o we_o must_v say_v that_o their_o flesh_n and_o substance_n gather_v comprench_v and_o restrain_v itself_o and_o that_o their_o cavity_n enlarge_v themselves_o instead_o that_o in_o joy_n all_o the_o part_n release_v and_o soften_v themselves_o have_v not_o that_o need_n to_o fortify_v themselves_o as_o here_o they_o have_v in_o effect_n the_o pulse_n which_o appear_v hard_a in_o anger_n then_o in_o boldness_n be_v a_o certain_a sign_n that_o the_o substance_n of_o the_o artery_n restrain_v and_o harden_v itself_o and_o we_o can_v doubt_v but_o that_o the_o hardness_n of_o these_o part_n come_v from_o the_o contraction_n of_o the_o soul_n since_o it_o be_v for_o that_o only_a reason_n that_o the_o pulse_n become_v hard_a in_o fear_n all_o the_o difficulty_n remain_v be_v to_o know_v why_o the_o artery_n which_o borrow_v the_o virtue_n of_o move_v themselves_o from_o the_o heart_n have_v not_o a_o motion_n like_o he_o and_o that_o they_o straighten_v their_o cavity_n on_o the_o side_n although_o that_o enlarge_v his_o own_o on_o all_o side_n to_o resolve_v this_o difficulty_n we_o must_v observe_v that_o the_o beat_n of_o the_o artery_n be_v not_o the_o same_o which_o be_v in_o the_o heart_n since_o those_o open_a and_o lift_v themselves_o up_o whilst_o this_o fall_n and_o shut_v itself_o so_o that_o they_o must_v needs_o be_v too_o different_a motion_n and_o consequent_o proceed_v from_o two_o different_a virtue_n and_o if_o this_o be_v true_a there_o be_v no_o necessity_n that_o they_o shall_v resemble_v in_o all_o thing_n and_o the_o heart_n in_o any_o sense_n may_v enlarge_v itself_o without_o any_o necessity_n for_o the_o artery_n to_o do_v the_o same_o now_o as_o the_o heart_n have_v its_o ventricles_n place_v on_o the_o
