our_o freedom_n every_o other_o servant_n in_o strictness_n of_o rule_n be_v below_o a_o son_n a_o child_n but_o every_o servant_n of_o god_n be_v a_o son_n of_o god_n and_o shall_v have_v not_o gift_n as_o a_o mere_a servant_n may_v have_v but_o the_o inheritance_n which_o the_o son_n who_o serve_v his_o father_n shall_v have_v there_o be_v two_o sort_n of_o servant_n under_o god_n 1._o some_o stubborn_a who_o be_v servi_n victi_fw-la as_o st._n aust_n in_o speak_v the_o law_n of_o creation_n be_v upon_o they_o and_o so_o will_v they_o will_v they_o they_o be_v in_o some_o obediential_a and_o serviceable_a relation_n 2._o other_o be_v servant_n not_o of_o force_n but_o of_o affection_n not_o of_o compulsion_n but_o of_o election_n they_o have_v choose_v god_n to_o be_v their_o lord_n and_o have_v willingl_o resign_v up_o themselves_o in_o the_o purpose_n of_o their_o heart_n to_o a_o universal_a observance_n and_o love_n of_o he_o and_o obedience_n unto_o he_o impartial_o and_o constant_o to_o do_v his_o work_n such_o a_o servant_n to_o god_n be_v david_n but_o this_o observation_n be_v very_o general_a therefore_o i_o pass_v unto_o another_o viz._n sect_n to_o a_o mear_v slave_n there_o be_v no_o mutual_a obligation_n or_o else_o it_o be_v in_o that_o which_o be_v weak_a yet_o to_o a_o servant_n who_o stand_v in_o that_o relation_n which_o they_o call_v ingenuous_a as_o much_o be_v due_a from_o he_o to_o his_o lord_n so_o something_o his_o lord_n ought_v to_o do_v for_o he_o to_o feed_v he_o to_o clothe_v he_o to_o house_n and_o lodge_v he_o that_o he_o go_v to_o the_o sin_n but_o holding_n back_o by_o renew_a grace_n be_v cohibition_n of_o the_o heart_n upon_o permanent_a ground_n viz._n the_o perpetual_a contrariety_n betwixt_o god_n and_o sin_n betwixt_o sin_n and_o his_o will_n and_o holiness_n and_o goodness_n and_o honour_n 7._o they_o differ_v in_o this_o that_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o man_n only_o restrain_v liberty_n in_o restraint_n man_n grow_v worse_o when_o at_o liberty_n do_v be_v at_o liberty_n like_o water_n hold_v up_o pour_v forth_o itself_o more_o violent_o and_o greedy_o as_o if_o it_o will_v pay_v use_n for_o foâ—bearnace_n it_o abound_v in_o the_o sin_n and_o make_v a_o more_o full_o wicked_a recompense_n for_o the_o former_a restriction_n but_o where_o the_o soul_n be_v keep_v back_o by_o renew_v grace_n iâ—_n do_v not_o multiply_v sin_n renewingâ—_n not_o so_o in_o renewingâ—_n because_o of_o less_o practice_n now_o but_o be_v labour_v a_o full_a diminution_n of_o sin_n because_o of_o too_o much_o practice_v heretofore_o 8._o they_o differ_v thus_o a_o evil_a man_n be_v keep_v back_o as_o a_o prisoner_n joy_n restraint_n be_v a_o evil_a man_n force_n and_o cross_v a_o good_a man_n desire_n and_o joy_n by_o force_n against_o his_o will_n but_o a_o good_a man_n be_v keep_v back_o as_o a_o petitioner_n it_o be_v his_o heart_n desire_v o_o that_o my_o way_n be_v so_o direct_v that_o i_o may_v keep_v thy_o statute_n order_n my_o step_n in_o thy_o word_n and_o let_v not_o any_o iniquity_n have_v dominion_n over_o i_o keep_v back_o thy_o servant_n from_o presumptuous_a sin_n of_o meeting_n but_o a_o good_a man_n be_v keep_v back_o from_o sin_n as_o a_o man_n from_o his_o deadly_a enemy_n who_o presence_n he_o hate_v and_o with_o desire_n of_o his_o ruin_n and_o as_o when_o health_n be_v make_v to_o rise_v to_o a_o great_a degree_n of_o strength_n or_o whether_o it_o be_v a_o efficacious_a motion_n of_o god_n spirit_n powerful_o strengthen_v the_o inherent_a grace_n to_o the_o act_n of_o aversation_n and_o resistance_n of_o sin_n and_o temptation_n it_o be_v i_o confess_v a_o acute_a and_o disputable_a inquiry_n yet_o whether_o the_o one_o or_o whether_o the_o other_o the_o soul_n be_v by_o either_o more_o confirm_v and_o establish_v and_o uphold_v and_o keep_v from_o sin_n 3._o by_o quicken_a grace_n which_o be_v when_o god_n do_v inlve_v grace_n by_o quicken_a grace_n our_o grace_n to_o manifest_v themselves_o in_o actual_a opposition_n so_o that_o the_o soul_n shall_v not_o yield_v but_o keep_v off_o from_o entertain_v the_o sin_n as_o when_o in_o the_o motion_n of_o sin_n he_o inflame_v the_o heart_n with_o a_o apprehension_n of_o his_o own_o love_n in_o christ_n and_o then_o excite_v our_o love_n exceed_o unto_o himself_o again_o whereby_o the_o heart_n be_v make_v marvellous_o averse_a and_o to_o detest_v any_o closure_n with_o this_o sin_n by_o which_o so_o ample_a and_o gracious_a a_o love_n shall_v be_v wrong_v and_o abuse_v or_o as_o when_o in_o the_o temptation_n to_o sin_n he_o excite_v that_o affection_n of_o holy_a fear_n which_o work_v that_o filial_a and_o awful_a regard_n to_o a_o great_a god_n and_o a_o good_a father_n that_o the_o soul_n be_v bring_v into_o joseph_n temper_n how_o can_v i_o do_v this_o great_a evil_n and_o sin_n against_o god_n 4._o by_o direct_v grace_n which_o be_v when_o god_n confer_v that_o effectual_a grace_n by_o direct_v grace_n wisdom_n to_o the_o mind_n tenderness_n to_o the_o conscience_n watchfulness_n to_o the_o heart_n that_o his_o servant_n become_v great_o solicitous_a of_o his_o honour_n scrupulous_o jealous_a of_o their_o own_o strength_n and_o just_o regardful_a of_o the_o honour_n of_o their_o holy_a profession_n and_o therefore_o they_o decline_v all_o occasion_n of_o the_o sin_n which_o may_v over-lay_a their_o own_o strength_n and_o daily_n not_o with_o the_o temptation_n or_o with_o the_o first_o motion_n but_o as_o they_o be_v in_o fear_n of_o themselves_o so_o they_o be_v in_o defiance_n not_o only_o with_o apparent_a sin_n but_o also_o with_o the_o appearance_n of_o they_o and_o shun_v not_o only_o the_o sin_n but_o the_o inlet_n and_o preparation_n to_o the_o sin_n and_o very_o he_o shall_v be_v much_o keep_v from_o the_o secrecy_n of_o sin_n as_o a_o king_n who_o be_v wise_a to_o keep_v off_o parle_n with_o the_o ambassador_n of_o sin_n i_o mean_v occasion_n which_o do_v negotiate_v with_o the_o soul_n and_o prepare_v it_o to_o lose_v its_o own_o strength_n 5._o by_o do_v grace_n which_o be_v when_o god_n effectual_o incline_v grace_n by_o do_v grace_n the_o heart_n of_o his_o servant_n to_o the_o place_n and_o way_n of_o their_o refuge_n safety_n and_o preservation_n from_o sin_n by_o enlarge_n the_o spirit_n of_o supplication_n which_o carry_v the_o soul_n to_o its_o strength_n prayer_n engage_v god_n and_o this_o we_o find_v that_o the_o pray_v christian_n be_v more_o keep_v from_o sin_n than_o his_o ordinance_n a_o man_n many_o time_n come_v to_o the_o word_n a_o combitant_n but_o be_v send_v away_o a_o conqueror_n come_v hither_o as_o a_o pursue_a man_n by_o sin_n and_o satan_n but_o here_o god_n give_v he_o a_o safeguard_n a_o protection_n and_o send_v he_o away_o arm_v with_o more_o holy_a resolution_n courage_n and_o defiance_n by_o strengthen_v his_o grace_n by_o assure_v
