abide_v in_o this_o circle_n but_o will_v depart_v from_o it_o as_o far_o as_o we_o shall_v be_v able_a into_o the_o circle_n of_o the_o mercy_n feat_n unto_o which_o we_o do_v appeal_v neither_o have_v we_o invent_v this_o of_o our_o own_o brain_n but_o it_o be_v the_o word_n of_o god_n himself_o which_o threaten_v horrible_a judgement_n to_o they_o which_o come_v with_o their_o own_o that_o they_o shall_v be_v set_v before_o the_o judgement_n seat_n as_o christ_n say_v joh._n 3_o he_o that_o believe_v not_o be_v condemn_v already_o because_o he_o have_v not_o believe_v in_o the_o name_n of_o that_o only_o beget_v son_n of_o god_n he_o that_o believe_v in_o he_o be_v not_o condemn_v that_o be_v shall_v not_o come_v to_o the_o judgement_n seat_n but_o to_o the_o mercy_n seat_n where_o there_o be_v no_o wrath_n or_o rigour_n but_o grace_n &_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n all_o thing_n be_v remit_v which_o be_v not_o pure_a yea_o being_n blot_v out_o and_o so_o consume_v as_o a_o drop_n of_o water_n be_v consume_v of_o the_o heat_n of_o the_o sun_n for_o where_o the_o mercy_n seat_n reign_v there_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o mere_a forgevenes_n and_o remission_n of_o sin_n this_o therefore_o be_v know_v we_o must_v exact_o understand_v the_o difference_n between_o the_o law_n and_o the_o gospel_n whereof_o we_o often_o teach_v law_n the_o office_n of_o the_o law_n the_o law_n draw_v we_o to_o the_o judgement_n seat_n require_v of_o we_o integrity_n of_o life_n love_v out_o of_o a_o pure_a heart_n &_o a_o good_a conscience_n it_o make_v we_o also_o to_o exercise_v ourselves_o therein_o and_o must_v go_v no_o further_o but_o when_o it_o shall_v come_v and_o accuse_v thou_o and_o will_v reason_v with_o thou_o and_o have_v those_o thing_n to_o be_v perform_v which_o it_o require_v then_o shall_v thou_o be_v great_o trouble_v for_o albeit_o thou_o have_v do_v they_o yet_o be_v thou_o not_o able_a to_o stand_v before_o god_n before_o who_o judgement_n seat_n many_o thing_n be_v yet_o find_v want_v in_o thou_o which_o shall_v have_v be_v do_v of_o thou_o and_o thou_o have_v leave_v they_o undo_v neither_o be_v they_o know_v unto_o thyself_o seat_n the_o law_n will_v drive_v we_o unto_o desperation_n unless_o we_o can_v appeal_v from_o the_o judgement_n seat_n to_o the_o mercy_n seat_n whither_o then_o will_v thou_o turn_v thou_o here_o the_o law_n urge_v thou_o by_o all_o mean_n and_o thy_o own_o conscience_n be_v witness_n accuse_v thou_o require_v the_o sentence_n of_o the_o judge_n against_o thou_o then_o must_v thou_o despeire_n there_o be_v no_o counsel_n or_o help_v to_o be_v have_v except_o thou_o know_v to_o fly_v from_o the_o judgement_n seat_n to_o the_o mercy_n seat_n as_o for_o example_n admit_v some_o bishop_n die_v in_o his_o own_o holiness_n who_o while_o he_o live_v be_v as_o it_o seem_v of_o a_o good_a life_n and_o acknowledge_v christ_n not_o otherwise_o then_o a_o cruel_a judge_n as_o it_o have_v be_v hitherto_o preach_v of_o he_o neither_o have_v he_o be_v otherwise_o set_v forth_o as_o he_o be_v also_o wont_a to_o be_v unto_o such_o not_o of_o his_o own_o nature_n for_o in_o deed_n he_o be_v most_o gracious_a and_o comfortable_a but_o because_o they_o esteem_v he_o for_o no_o other_o in_o their_o heart_n behold_v this_o man_n be_v a_o hindrance_n unto_o himself_o that_o he_o can_v not_o obtain_v any_o grace_n for_o he_o know_v no_o difference_n of_o the_o judgement_n seat_n and_o the_o mercy_n seat_n yea_o he_o be_v altogether_o ignorant_a whether_o there_o be_v a_o mercy_n seat_n from_o which_o he_o so_o err_v and_o must_v be_v bind_v to_o the_o judgement_n seat_n but_o we_o teach_v thus_o of_o how_o christ_n must_v be_v learned_a and_o consider_v of_o that_o christ_n be_v so_o to_o be_v learned_a and_o consider_v that_o we_o be_v most_o certain_o persuade_v that_o he_o sit_v before_o miserable_a and_o tremble_a conscience_n that_o believe_v in_o he_o not_o as_o a_o angry_a judge_n which_o command_v forthwith_o to_o carry_v violent_o they_o that_o be_v guilty_a unto_o punishment_n but_o as_o a_o gentle_a love_a and_o comfortable_a mediator_n between_o my_o fearful_a conscience_n and_o god_n which_o say_v unto_o i_o if_o thou_o be_v a_o sinner_n and_o astonish_v and_o the_o devil_n labour_v to_o draw_v thou_o to_o the_o judgement_n seat_n then_o see_v that_o thou_o fly_v unto_o i_o and_o fear_v no_o wrath_n or_o anger_n wherefore_o even_o because_o i_o sit_v here_o that_o if_o thou_o believe_v in_o i_o i_o may_v make_v intercession_n for_o thou_o to_o my_o father_n that_o no_o anger_n and_o severity_n may_v hurt_v thou_o for_o all_o anger_n and_o punishment_n shall_v be_v soon_o lay_v upon_o i_o then_o be_v bear_v of_o thou_o howbeit_o that_o which_o word_n they_o mix_v &_o mingle_v together_o our_o life_n &_o work_n and_o christ_n but_o this_o be_v not_o pure_o and_o sincere_o to_o have_v teach_v faith_n but_o to_o have_v colour_v defile_v and_o corrupt_a faith_n so_o that_o it_o can_v no_o more_o be_v call_v faith_n but_o a_o feign_a colour_n &_o counterfect_v of_o faith_n the_o trust_n and_o confidence_n of_o the_o heart_n stand_v not_o pure_o towards_o christ_n as_o the_o only_a mercy_n seat_n but_o be_v ground_v upon_o our_o one_o holiness_n as_o be_v able_a to_o stand_v before_o the_o judgement_n seat_n wherefore_o do_v thus_o we_o be_v most_o right_o cast_v of_o before_o god_n and_o condemn_v unto_o destruction_n whereof_o we_o be_v most_o worthy_a for_o if_o faith_n must_v be_v pure_a and_o void_a of_o all_o and_o wish_v that_o their_o holiness_n be_v know_v to_o the_o whole_a world_n show_v a_o goodly_a sign_n of_o their_o religion_n by_o the_o bite_a of_o their_o lip_n if_o they_o hear_v any_o speak_v no_n abraham_n yea_o and_o of_o all_o the_o faithful_a father_n they_o will_v profit_v i_o nothing_o the_o priest_n and_o levite_n see_v that_o miserable_a man_n lie_v wound_v but_o they_o can_v not_o help_v he_o any_o thing_n they_o see_v he_o lie_v half_o dead_a but_o what_o be_v that_o to_o the_o purpose_n they_o can_v not_o give_v he_o any_o remedy_n the_o holy_a father_n see_v man_n drown_v and_o plunge_v in_o sin_n even_o up_o to_o the_o ear_n they_o also_o feel_v the_o sting_n and_o anguish_n of_o sin_n but_o what_o can_v they_o do_v hereunto_o they_o can_v make_v the_o case_n worse_o not_o even_o any_o whit_n help_v itself_o with_o his_o strength_n reason_n and_o free_a will_n but_o christ_n be_v that_o true_a samaritane_n oil_n christ_n the_o true_a samaritane_n which_o help_v the_o wound_v man_n oil_n who_o be_v touch_v with_o as_o great_a care_n of_o that_o miserable_a man_n as_o of_o himself_o neither_o do_v the_o samaritane_n call_v he_o unto_o he_o for_o he_o have_v the_o difference_n between_o they_o be_v very_o necessary_a i_o will_v entreat_v of_o they_o somewhat_o more_o at_o large_a of_o the_o law_n and_o the_o gospel_n i_o have_v very_o often_o admonish_v your_o brotherly_a charity_n gospel_n the_o wlole_a scripture_n divide_v into_o the_o law_n &_o the_o gospel_n that_o the_o whole_a scripture_n devide_v itself_o into_o two_o part_n into_o the_o law_n and_o the_o gospel_n the_o law_n be_v that_o which_o teach_v what_o we_o must_v do_v what_o the_o will_n of_o god_n require_v of_o us._n the_o gospel_n teach_v where_o that_o be_v to_o be_v receive_v which_o the_o law_n command_v even_o as_o if_o i_o seek_v to_o take_v physic_n it_o be_v one_o art_n to_o tell_v what_o the_o disease_n be_v &_o a_o other_o to_o minister_v that_o which_o be_v good_a and_o wholesome_a to_o remedy_v it_o so_o stand_v the_o case_n here_o the_o law_n reveal_v the_o disease_n the_o gospel_n minister_v the_o medicine_n which_o be_v manifest_a even_o by_o the_o text_n whereof_o we_o have_v already_o entreat_v the_o lawyer_n come_v and_o be_v very_o desirous_a of_o eternal_a life_n ask_v what_o he_o must_v do_v the_o law_n declare_v it_o unto_o he_o say_v law_n the_o office_n of_o the_o law_n thou_o shall_v love_v the_o lord_n thy_o god_n with_o all_o thy_o heart_n with_o all_o thy_o soul_n with_o all_o thy_o strength_n and_o with_o all_o thy_o mind_n and_o thy_o neighbour_n as_o thyself_o he_o that_o read_v these_o work_n after_o a_o bare_a and_o slender_a sort_n only_o as_o this_o lawyer_n do_v understand_v they_o not_o we_o must_v pierce_v into_o such_o love_n as_o a_o young_a man_n bear_v towards_o a_o maid_n which_o he_o feel_v thorough_o in_o his_o mind_n moreover_o with_o all_o my_o strength_n that_o be_v with_o all_o my_o member_n also_o with_o all_o my_o mind_n that_o be_v all_o my_o sense_n cogitation_n &_o thought_n must_v be_v direct_v unto_o god_n now_o i_o find_v in_o myself_o that_o i_o do_v none_o of_o these_o for_o if_o i_o of_o sin_n satan_n also_o endeavour_v to_o throw_v we_o down_o headlong_o to_o hell_n inasmuch_o as_o he_o will_v punish_v we_o for_o our_o sin_n commit_v all_o thing_n be_v full_a of_o tremble_v and_o anguish_n god_n take_v pity_n upon_o this_o so_o great_a calamity_n send_v his_o only_o beget_v son_n and_o that_o of_o his_o mere_a grace_n &_o goodness_n without_o our_o desert_n that_o he_o may_v deliver_v we_o out_o of_o so_o great_a tyranny_n which_o he_o mighty_o do_v after_o this_o sort_n he_o satisfy_v the_o law_n satan_n christ_n have_v fulfil_v the_o law_n prevail_v against_o sin_n overcome_v death_n and_o vanquish_a satan_n and_o fulfil_v it_o perfect_o for_o he_o love_v god_n with_o all_o his_o heart_n and_o with_o all_o his_o soul_n &_o with_o all_o his_o strength_n he_o love_v his_o neighbour_n also_o as_o himself_o in_o these_o the_o whole_a law_n and_o the_o prophet_n do_v consist_v now_o whatsoever_o christ_n do_v it_o consist_v in_o these_o two_o he_o love_v god_n inasmuch_o as_o he_o obey_v his_o will_n he_o take_v upon_o he_o the_o nature_n of_o man_n and_o perform_v in_o all_o obedience_n those_o thing_n that_o be_v enjoin_v he_o of_o the_o father_n learn_v it_o &_o bring_v forth_o any_o fruit_n thereby_o although_o they_o hear_v it_o therefore_o let_v we_o only_o keep_v it_o whereof_o they_o do_v take_v away_o nothing_o at_o all_o from_o we_o endure_v a_o very_a small_a time_n neither_o can_v it_o sustain_v the_o assault_n and_o violence_n of_o the_o enemy_n neither_o bring_v it_o or_o contain_v any_o thing_n else_o but_o confidence_n of_o itself_o wherewith_o the_o miserable_a sheep_n be_v holpen_v nothing_o for_o it_o remain_v as_o much_o wander_a and_o lose_v as_o before_o neither_o can_v it_o help_v itself_o or_o come_v to_o his_o own_o shepeheard_n but_o if_o we_o will_v help_v &_o succour_v it_o we_o must_v show_v unto_o it_o the_o true_a shepeheard_n who_o come_v to_o seek_v it_o that_o have_v find_v it_o he_o may_v bring_v it_o home_o again_o and_o exhibit_v his_o voice_n unto_o it_o to_o be_v hear_v hereby_o it_o may_v obtain_v true_a and_o effectual_a consolation_n and_o be_v bold_a to_o answer_v moses_n and_o say_v the_o law_n but_o only_o a_o momentane_n tickle_v of_o the_o utmost_a skin_n not_o during_o &_o pierce_n for_o the_o devil_n come_v &_o set_v upon_o the_o heart_n all_o comfort_n be_v utter_o take_v grace_n in_o this_o life_n that_o he_o take_v away_o and_o pardon_v man_n sin_n and_o this_o be_v the_o kingdom_n of_o grace_n now_o when_o as_o sin_v with_o his_o guard_n that_o be_v satan_n death_n and_o hell_n shall_v trouble_v man_n no_o more_o then_o at_o the_o last_o the_o kingdom_n of_o glory_n and_o absolute_a felicity_n shall_v be_v gospel_n the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n be_v govern_v not_o by_o the_o law_n but_o by_o the_o gospel_n hereupon_o it_o follow_v first_o that_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n be_v rule_v or_o govern_v by_o no_o law_n no_o not_o by_o the_o law_n of_o god_n much_o kingdom_n of_o god_n to_o the_o kingdom_n of_o sin_n wherein_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o unquietnes_n anguish_n affliction_n adversity_n and_o all_o kind_n of_o evil_n torment_v the_o conscience_n servile_a and_o unwilling_a mind_n whereby_o they_o may_v easy_o see_v what_o be_v the_o root_n of_o this_o evil_a and_o what_o be_v especial_o needful_a unto_o salvation_n to_o wit_v a_o new_a and_o a_o willing_a spirit_n to_o that_o which_o be_v good_a which_o sure_o neither_o the_o law_n nor_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n be_v able_a to_o give_v yea_o the_o long_a and_o the_o more_o that_o they_o apply_v themselves_o unto_o they_o so_o much_o more_o unwilling_a shall_v they_o find_v themselves_o and_o with_o so_o much_o more_o grief_n to_o work_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a hereupon_o now_o they_o learn_v that_o they_o do_v not_o satisfy_v the_o law_n although_o outward_o they_o live_v according_a to_o the_o prescript_n rule_v thereof_o for_o as_o they_o do_v pretend_v to_o obey_v it_o in_o work_n so_o in_o mind_n they_o do_v hate_v it_o wherefore_o in_o mind_n also_o they_o remain_v sinner_n although_o they_o pretend_v themselves_o righteous_a by_o work_n that_o be_v they_o be_v like_a unto_o those_o of_o cain_n brood_n and_o to_o hypocrite_n who_o hand_n in_o deed_n be_v compel_v to_o good_a but_o they_o have_v a_o hart_n which_o as_o it_o be_v a_o enemy_n to_o the_o law_n so_o do_v it_o very_o consent_v unto_o sin_n and_o be_v miserable_o subject_a unto_o they_o to_o know_v this_o concern_v themselves_o be_v not_o the_o low_a degree_n to_o salvation_n hereof_o also_o we_o may_v see_v how_o fit_o paul_n call_v such_o constrain_a work_n the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n law_n the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n for_o they_o flow_v not_o from_o a_o ready_a and_o willing_a hart_n but_o be_v enforce_v by_o the_o law_n the_o heart_n decline_v a_o other_o way_n howbeit_o the_o law_n do_v not_o require_v work_n alone_o but_o much_o rather_o the_o heart_n itself_o so_o that_o we_o may_v say_v not_o only_o the_o work_n but_o rather_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o law_n not_o only_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o law_n but_o rather_o the_o mind_n will_n and_o all_o the_o strength_n of_o the_o law_n whereupon_o it_o be_v say_v in_o the_o first_o psalm_n of_o the_o bless_a man_n but_o his_o delight_n be_v in_o the_o law_n of_o god_n and_o in_o his_o law_n do_v he_o exercise_v himself_o day_n and_o night_n such_o a_o mind_n the_o law_n require_v in_o deed_n but_o it_o give_v it_o not_o neither_o can_v it_o give_v it_o of_o it_o own_o nature_n whereby_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o while_n the_o law_n continue_v to_o exact_v it_o of_o a_o man_n and_o to_o condemn_v he_o as_o long_o as_o he_o have_v not_o such_o a_o mind_n as_o disobedient_a to_o god_n he_o be_v in_o anguish_n on_o every_o side_n his_o conscience_n be_v grievous_o terrify_v and_o without_o all_o counsel_n and_o help_v then_o in_o deed_n he_o be_v most_o ready_o for_o grace_n and_o this_o be_v that_o time_n appoint_v of_o the_o father_n father_n the_o time_n appoint_v of_o the_o father_n when_o his_o servitude_n shall_v end_v and_o he_o shall_v enter_v into_o the_o state_n of_o and_o subject_a to_o the_o curse_n so_o it_o must_v needs_o be_v accurse_v whatsoever_o they_o do_v for_o it_o be_v before_o prove_v at_o large_a that_o he_o which_o be_v evell_a himself_o can_v work_v nothing_o that_o be_v good_a likewise_o that_o we_o can_v do_v nothing_o that_o god_n will_v approve_v unless_o we_o ourselves_o be_v approve_v of_o he_o before_o and_o see_v that_o the_o law_n require_v the_o heart_n which_o can_v not_o be_v perform_v of_o they_o which_o be_v not_o as_o yet_o regenerate_v by_o the_o spirit_n it_o must_v needs_o be_v that_o all_o the_o son_n of_o adam_n be_v guilty_a of_o transgress_v the_o law_n and_o unless_o whereas_o they_o themselves_o be_v not_o able_a a_o other_o to_o wit_n christ_n shall_v perform_v that_o which_o the_o law_n require_v and_o so_o satisfy_v the_o law_n for_o they_o they_o shall_v altogether_o perish_v by_o the_o curse_n of_o the_o law_n but_o when_o as_o christ_n go_v about_o to_o show_v that_o the_o heart_n be_v require_v of_o the_o law_n do_v condemn_v the_o work_n which_o proceed_v not_o from_o a_o heart_n that_o be_v godly_a and_o consent_v unto_o the_o law_n he_o be_v accuse_v of_o the_o pharisee_n that_o he_o be_v come_v to_o destroy_v the_o law_n because_o therefore_o he_o will_v take_v away_o this_o false_a opinion_n of_o himself_o he_o say_v think_v not_o that_o i_o be_o come_v to_o destroy_v the_o law_n for_o i_o be_o not_o come_v to_o destroy_v but_o to_o fulfil_v the_o law_n yea_o and_o i_o will_v give_v a_o spirit_n unto_o they_o that_o be_v i_o which_o shall_v justify_v their_o heart_n by_o faith_n and_o incline_v it_o unto_o true_a good_a work_n the_o same_o be_v usual_a with_o paul_n also_o who_o rom._n 3_o when_o he_o have_v reject_v the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n and_o extol_v faith_n answer_v such_o a_o objection_n say_v do_v we_o then_o make_v the_o law_n of_o none_o effect_v god_n forbid_v yea_o we_o establish_v the_o law_n for_o we_o teach_v that_o the_o true_a fulfil_n of_o can_v be_v fulfil_v of_o no_o man_n but_o of_o he_o which_o be_v free_a from_o the_o law_n be_v no_o more_o under_o it_o we_o must_v accustom_v ourselves_o also_o to_o the_o manner_n of_o paul_n speech_n that_o we_o may_v know_v assure_o who_o be_v under_o the_o law_n law_n who_o be_v under_o the_o law_n and_o who_o be_v not_o under_o the_o law_n as_o many_o therefore_o as_o work_v good_a work_n because_o the_o law_n have_v so_o command_v be_v bring_v thereunto_o either_o with_o fear_n of_o punishment_n or_o hope_v of_o reward_n be_v under_o the_o law_n and_o be_v compel_v to_o do_v conscience_n show_v it_o unto_o he_o we_o all_o find_v ourselves_o so_o affect_v that_o if_o no_o law_n do_v urge_v we_o &_o both_o the_o fear_n of_o punishment_n and_o hope_v of_o reward_n be_v away_o and_o it_o be_v plain_o free_a for_o we_o to_o do_v what_o we_o listen_v we_o will_v do_v altogether_o those_o thing_n that_o be_v evell_a and_o omit_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a especial_o either_o tentation_n move_v we_o or_o occasion_n provoke_v us._n but_o now_o forasmuch_o as_o the_o law_n stay_v we_o with_o the_o threaten_n and_o promise_n thereof_o we_o do_v oftentimes_o abstain_v from_o evell_a thing_n and_o do_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a howbeit_o we_o do_v they_o not_o for_o the_o love_n of_o goodness_n and_o hatred_n of_o evel_n but_o only_o for_o fear_v of_o punishment_n and_o respect_n of_o reward_n wherefore_o be_v leave_v whole_o to_o ourselves_o we_o be_v servant_n of_o the_o law_n neither_o do_v we_o hear_v it_o any_o otherwise_o than_o servant_n do_v their_o hard_a and_o cruel_a master_n be_v they_z which_o be_v not_o under_o the_o law_n describe_v of_o what_o sort_n they_o be_v but_o they_o that_o be_v not_o under_o the_o law_n that_o be_v be_v not_o so_o against_o their_o will_n in_o subjection_n under_o the_o dominion_n thereof_o they_o of_o their_o own_o accord_n do_v good_a work_n and_o abstain_v from_o evell_a notwithstanding_o they_o will_v desire_v to_o live_v no_o otherwise_o then_o the_o law_n command_v as_o to_o shun_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v evell_a and_o apply_v themselves_o to_o honest_a study_n and_o exercise_n they_o that_o be_v such_o be_v son_n who_o not_o nature_n but_o that_o only_o bless_a seed_n of_o abraham_n that_o be_v christ_n can_v make_v such_o renew_v by_o his_o grace_n and_o spirit_n the_o heart_n of_o they_o that_o believe_v in_o he_o law_n what_o it_o be_v not_o to_o be_v under_o the_o law_n wherefore_o not_o to_o be_v under_o the_o law_n be_v not_o to_o be_v free_a from_o the_o law_n that_o they_o may_v do_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v contrary_a thereunto_o and_o omit_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a but_o it_o be_v to_o do_v good_a thing_n and_o abstain_v from_o wicked_a thing_n not_o through_o compulsion_n or_o necessity_n of_o the_o law_n but_o by_o free_a love_n and_o with_o pleasure_n even_o as_o if_o no_o law_n command_v they_o and_o their_o own_o nature_n bring_v they_o hereunto_o as_o in_o deed_n it_o do_v howbeit_o the_o new_a nature_n of_o the_o spirit_n similitude_n a_o similitude_n not_o that_o old_a nature_n of_o the_o flesh_n for_o as_o there_o be_v need_n of_o no_o law_n for_o the_o body_n which_o may_v compel_v it_o to_o eat_v to_o drink_v to_o digest_v similitude_n a_o similitude_n to_o sleep_v to_o go_v to_o stand_v to_o sit_v and_o to_o do_v the_o other_o work_v of_o nature_n for_o that_o it_o be_v ready_a to_o do_v they_o of_o it_o own_o nature_n when_o the_o case_n so_o require_v and_o when_o it_o be_v meet_v without_o all_o respect_n either_o of_o reward_n or_o punishment_n and_o may_v not_o unfit_o be_v say_v as_o concern_v these_o thing_n not_o to_o be_v under_o a_o law_n notwithstanding_o thereupon_o nothing_o less_o follow_v then_o that_o it_o do_v therefore_o abstain_v from_o such_o work_n unto_o which_o in_o deed_n it_o so_o much_o more_o appli_v if_o self_n as_o they_o be_v less_o command_v and_o be_v more_o natural_a unto_o it_o after_o the_o same_o sort_n altogether_o do_v the_o godly_a man_n behave_v himself_o concern_v the_o work_n of_o godliness_n he_o be_v carry_v to_o the_o do_v of_o they_o thing_n he_o may_v have_v omit_v be_v lord_n of_o the_o law_n and_o over_o all_o howbeit_o he_o apply_v himself_o to_o these_o thing_n free_o of_o his_o own_o will_n not_o be_v either_o compel_v by_o whereas_o notwithstanding_o he_o be_v not_o under_o the_o law_n as_o they_o but_o of_o his_o own_o free_a will_n wherefore_o in_o respect_n of_o his_o work_n he_o be_v under_o the_o law_n but_o in_o respect_n of_o his_o will_n he_o be_v free_a from_o the_o law_n law_n how_o we_o be_v under_o the_o law_n but_o we_o as_o well_o by_o will_n as_o by_o work_n be_v under_o the_o law_n by_o nature_n for_o that_o we_o do_v work_n according_a to_o the_o rule_n of_o the_o law_n of_o necessity_n yea_o and_o we_o do_v they_o with_o that_o will_n which_o the_o law_n constrain_v and_o urge_v in_o asmuch_o as_o we_o do_v not_o endeavour_n to_o do_v they_o of_o our_o own_o accord_n christ_n make_v himself_o subject_a to_o the_o punishment_n of_o the_o law_n also_o for_o our_o sake_n of_o his_o own_o will_n he_o do_v not_o only_o perform_v those_o work_n which_o the_o law_n command_v but_o he_o suffer_v the_o punishment_n also_o which_o be_v due_a to_o we_o be_v transgressor_n thereof_o the_o law_n condemn_v to_o death_n and_o the_o eternal_a curse_n all_o those_o that_o continue_v not_o in_o all_o thing_n that_o be_v write_v in_o the_o book_n of_o the_o law_n to_o do_v they_o as_o and_o the_o curse_n that_o be_v to_o eternal_a damnation_n no_o otherwise_o then_o if_o he_o have_v transgress_v the_o whole_a law_n and_o have_v more_o than_o all_o deserve_v the_o sentence_n as_o though_o they_o be_v not_o for_o the_o law_n can_v not_o convince_v they_o of_o sin_n neither_o can_v death_n confound_v they_o but_o by_o faith_n they_o most_o happy_o pass_v from_o sin_n and_o death_n to_o righteousness_n and_o life_n here_o munke_n nun_n &c_n &c_n be_v to_o be_v exhort_v if_o there_o be_v as_o yet_o leave_v any_o place_n with_o they_o for_o counsel_n and_o admonition_n by_o they_o they_o may_v serve_v their_o neighbour_n and_o subdue_v the_o arrogancy_n of_o the_o flesh_n but_o now_o see_v they_o be_v occupy_v in_o they_o with_o this_o double_a erroneous_a opinion_n as_o though_o they_o be_v necessary_a to_o salvation_n and_o righteousness_n and_o if_o they_o do_v not_o observe_v they_o they_o shall_v grievous_o sin_n they_o be_v unto_o they_o a_o most_o certain_a destruction_n nothing_o but_o delusion_n and_o sin_n whereby_o with_o their_o great_a affliction_n they_o draw_v unto_o hell_n where_o they_o shall_v full_o suffer_v the_o vexation_n and_o torment_n under_o the_o abbot_n the_o devil_n which_o be_v miserable_a and_o foolish_a man_n they_o have_v here_o begin_v for_o all_o their_o life_n do_v utter_o disagree_v with_o the_o faith_n of_o the_o son_n and_o that_o which_o belong_v only_o to_o faith_n to_o wit_n to_o justify_v and_o save_v we_o they_o attribute_v to_o their_o work_n wherefore_o these_o man_n can_v not_o both_o thus_o stick_v unto_o their_o ordinance_n and_o therewithal_o have_v faith_n which_o suffer_v itself_o to_o be_v addict_v to_o no_o certain_a work_n but_o what_o thing_n soever_o the_o lord_n either_o send_v person_n of_o place_n and_o such_o like_a yea_o he_o great_o disallow_v of_o these_o inasmuch_o as_o they_o trouble_v christian_a liberty_n these_o thing_n shall_v suffice_v to_o have_v be_v speak_v concern_v the_o exposition_n of_o this_o place_n of_o paul_n where_o about_o the_o matter_n itself_o require_v to_o spend_v so_o many_o word_n forasmuch_o as_o the_o nature_n of_o faith_n be_v so_o unknowen_a for_o unless_o thou_o do_v well_o understand_v the_o nature_n of_o faith_n thou_o shall_v perceive_v nothing_o or_o very_o little_a in_o the_o write_n of_o paul_n verse_n 6._o and_o because_o you_o be_v son_n god_n have_v send_v forth_o the_o spirit_n of_o his_o son_n into_o your_o heart_n which_o cry_v abba_n father_n here_o we_o see_v very_o plain_o that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n monastery_n and_o to_o follow_v the_o order_n thereof_o although_o that_o be_v do_v even_o with_o grief_n of_o mind_n grief_n we_o must_v work_v with_o pleasure_n and_o cheerfulness_n not_o with_o grudge_v or_o grief_n so_o they_o teach_v but_o christ_n will_v have_v we_o to_o work_v with_o pleasure_n and_o cheerfulness_n so_o that_o if_o any_o thing_n be_v do_v with_o burden_n or_o grief_n of_o conscience_n it_o be_v sin_n remove_v thyself_o therefore_o quick_o from_o such_o a_o work_n wherefore_o thus_o it_o may_v be_v say_v unto_o they_o behold_v o_o man_n thou_o miserable_a know_v my_o father_n also_o hereunto_o moreover_o pertain_v that_o which_o he_o say_v unto_o philip_n he_o that_o have_v see_v i_o have_v see_v my_o father_n this_o be_v the_o chief_a and_o the_o great_a thing_n in_o this_o gospel_n unto_o which_o all_o be_v to_o be_v refer_v hereof_o we_o ought_v to_o learn_v that_o we_o be_v not_o justify_v by_o our_o own_o strength_n neither_o save_v by_o our_o own_o merit_n but_o be_v sanctify_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n and_o save_v by_o grace_n &_o that_o christ_n be_v the_o way_n lead_v to_o salvation_n we_o will_v discuss_v and_o examine_v this_o gospel_n throughout_o as_o god_n shall_v give_v we_o grace_n these_o word_n the_o lord_n speak_v unto_o his_o disciple_n after_o his_o supper_n when_o he_o be_v now_o about_o to_o depart_v from_o they_o forasmuch_o as_o he_o have_v say_v many_o thing_n unto_o they_o of_o his_o departure_n and_o passion_n they_o be_v after_o a_o sort_n trouble_v and_o terrify_v wherefore_o the_o lord_n begin_v love_o to_o comfort_v they_o say_v let_v not_o your_o heart_n be_v trouble_v as_o if_o he_o will_v say_v i_o perceive_v that_o my_o departure_n do_v grieve_v you_o and_o that_o you_o be_v therefore_o trouble_v but_o see_v it_o can_v not_o be_v otherwise_o be_v not_o discomfort_a there_o be_v no_o cause_n why_o you_o shall_v therefore_o be_v trouble_v i_o will_v come_v again_o unto_o you_o notwithstanding_o you_o shall_v see_v many_o thing_n in_o i_o before_o whereat_o you_o will_v be_v offend_v they_o shall_v crucify_v i_o and_o unworthe_o handle_v i_o but_o be_v not_o you_o trouble_v because_o of_o these_o thing_n be_v not_o afraid_a it_o will_v be_v better_v short_o after_o the_o will_n of_o the_o father_n be_v such_o howbeit_o flesh_n can_v not_o do_v otherwise_o but_o be_v offend_v if_o it_o see_v christ_n to_o be_v crucify_v it_o byandby_o revolt_v from_o he_o it_o believe_v he_o not_o neither_o count_v he_o for_o a_o saviour_n which_o also_o it_o do_v when_o it_o see_v holy_a man_n suffer_v persecution_n to_o be_v afflict_v and_o torment_v for_o than_o it_o think_v that_o god_n have_v no_o care_n of_o they_o against_o this_o offence_n christ_n aforehand_o confirm_v his_o disciple_n and_o say_v you_o believe_v in_o god_n believe_v also_o in_o
