and_o communicate_v of_o it_o to_o other_o where_o thou_o see_v a_o ignorant_a soul_n give_v to_o that_o soul_n one_o piece_n of_o that_o riches_n i_o speak_v not_o this_o to_o minister_n only_o but_o to_o every_o one_o of_o you_o who_o hear_v i_o for_o we_o and_o you_o be_v bind_v to_o communicate_v this_o word_n one_o to_o another_o and_o thou_o who_o be_v the_o first_o giver_n of_o it_o it_o shall_v grow_v the_o more_o with_o thou_o for_o it_o grow_v through_o give_v of_o it_o it_o be_v not_o like_o temporal_a riches_n of_o which_o the_o more_o be_v give_v the_o more_o they_o decrease_v but_o these_o spiritual_a riches_n the_o more_o they_o be_v give_v the_o more_o they_o grow_v therefore_o be_v ever_o give_v of_o they_o that_o thou_o may_v bring_v many_o live_a stone_n unto_o the_o the_o ignorant_a and_o so_o it_o stand_v in_o doctrine_n the_o effect_n that_o it_o work_v in_o the_o heart_n be_v by_o admonish_v and_o comfort_v rebuke_v as_o heart_n admonish_v and_o comfort_v the_o heart_n occasion_n serve_v so_o i_o note_v the_o word_n of_o jesus_n work_v in_o all_o the_o part_n and_o power_n of_o the_o soul_n of_o man_n in_o the_o mind_n will_n and_o every_o affection_n of_o god_n what_o shall_v thou_o do_v more_o thou_o must_v admonish_v that_o be_v thou_o must_v go_v to_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o hearer_n and_o his_o affection_n to_o see_v how_o he_o be_v dispose_v so_o that_o if_o thou_o see_v the_o affection_n to_o be_v out_o of_o rule_n as_o they_o will_v appear_v in_o the_o manner_n of_o man_n thou_o must_v tune_v thy_o speech_n according_a to_o the_o affection_n of_o they_o and_o strive_v to_o put_v they_o in_o order_n and_o if_o they_o be_v over_o lofty_a thou_o must_v bring_v they_o low_o down_o and_o if_o they_o be_v deject_a thou_o must_v cheer_v they_o up_o again_o comfort_n and_o encourage_v they_o in_o a_o word_n thou_o must_v comfort_v admonish_v and_o rebuke_v according_a as_o thou_o shall_v find_v the_o disposition_n of_o the_o hearer_n if_o he_o be_v a_o king_n thou_o must_v rebuke_v he_o as_o thou_o find_v hard_a admonition_n hard_a occasion_n the_o world_n can_v abide_v this_o speak_v to_o my_o understanding_n say_v they_o teach_v i_o christ_n what_o have_v you_o more_o to_o do_v make_v i_o and_o the_o people_n to_o understand_v but_o speak_v not_o to_o my_o affection_n let_v i_o and_o they_o be_v together_o speak_v like_a to_o himself_o because_o out_o of_o the_o abundance_n of_o the_o heart_n the_o mouth_n speak_v and_o therefore_o i_o think_v that_o the_o speaker_n in_o this_o case_n shall_v pray_v as_o the_o prophet_n david_n do_v that_o god_n will_v set_v a_o door_n before_o his_o lip_n and_o guide_v the_o tongue_n of_o his_o mouth_n and_o this_o he_o ought_v to_o do_v if_o he_o be_v but_o a_o common_a christian_a and_o speak_v to_o his_o even_a christian_a because_o there_o be_v matter_n of_o corruption_n in_o he_o that_o may_v cause_v he_o to_o overshoote_v himself_o or_o ere_o he_o beware_v both_o as_o in_o regard_n of_o the_o naughtiness_n of_o his_o mind_n and_o mouth_n general_o and_o as_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o blindness_n of_o his_o heart_n particular_o yea_o and_o that_o many_o time_n when_o we_o deliver_v good_a thing_n because_o in_o the_o multitude_n of_o word_n or_o speech_n there_o be_v transgression_n as_o solomon_n say_v and_o the_o hearer_n also_o shall_v entreat_v god_n to_o boar_n his_o ear_n and_o to_o open_v his_o understanding_n yea_o and_o to_o incline_v his_o heart_n that_o nothing_o may_v steal_v away_o his_o affection_n from_o that_o which_o so_o direct_o concern_v other_o man_n good_a god_n glory_n and_o his_o own_o spiritual_a comfort_n which_o duty_n of_o invocation_n and_o prayer_n while_o man_n as_o in_o other_o respect_n so_o in_o this_o behalf_n regard_v not_o it_o fall_v out_o that_o both_o god_n be_v rob_v of_o his_o glory_n man_n of_o their_o spiritual_a good_a and_o themselves_o of_o christian_a comfort_n nay_o they_o do_v but_o increase_v their_o sin_n and_o their_o condemnation_n by_o mean_n thereof_o but_o the_o other_o sort_n as_o not_o sin_v in_o so_o high_a degree_n must_v be_v otherwise_o melt_v be_v gracious_a which_o the_o apostle_n have_v require_v before_o it_o must_v of_o necessity_n be_v season_v with_o salt_n because_o in_o a_o hearer_n heart_n there_o can_v be_v effect_v any_o grace_n but_o by_o such_o speech_n as_o be_v powder_v or_o season_v and_o wherewith_o must_v it_o be_v season_v the_o apostle_n answer_v it_o must_v be_v with_o salt_n the_o salt_n wherewith_o our_o word_n must_v be_v season_v be_v true_a sanctity_n or_o holiness_n of_o necessity_n there_o must_v be_v holiness_n in_o the_o heart_n before_o there_o can_v be_v any_o salt_n or_o savour_n in_o the_o mouth_n or_o word_n nay_o i_o will_v say_v more_o that_o sanctity_n must_v possess_v all_o the_o affection_n of_o the_o heart_n or_o else_o there_o will_v not_o there_o can_v flow_v from_o it_o season_a speech_n yea_o this_o holiness_n must_v spread_v and_o stretch_v itself_o unto_o all_o the_o outward_a part_n and_o member_n and_o to_o all_o the_o outward_a action_n and_o operation_n of_o the_o part_n and_o piece_n of_o man_n body_n or_o else_o there_o can_v be_v no_o salt_n or_o season_v of_o any_o thing_n that_o be_v say_v or_o do_v for_o if_o the_o heart_n be_v holy_a and_o all_o the_o affection_n thereof_o sanctify_v than_o the_o hand_n shall_v work_v the_o foot_n shall_v walk_v the_o eye_n shall_v see_v and_o the_o tongue_n shall_v speak_v holy_o for_o if_o the_o heart_n be_v it_o that_o set_v the_o whole_a man_n and_o every_o several_a part_n of_o he_o on_o work_n as_o that_o be_v so_o sure_a and_o certain_a as_o no_o man_n that_o know_v no_o more_o than_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n can_v afford_v he_o will_n or_o can_v deny_v it_o than_o it_o must_v needs_o follow_v that_o according_a to_o the_o frame_n and_o disposition_n thereof_o all_o in_o the_o whole_a and_o every_o part_n of_o it_o must_v be_v order_v and_o if_o every_o part_n follow_v the_o disposition_n of_o the_o mind_n then_o do_v the_o mouth_n also_o which_o also_o our_o saviour_n himself_o signify_v when_o he_o say_v that_o out_o of_o the_o abundance_n of_o the_o heart_n the_o mouth_n speak_v and_o s._n james_n express_v it_o likewise_o by_o a_o similitude_n when_o he_o tell_v we_o that_o no_o fountain_n can_v send_v out_o at_o one_o and_o the_o self_n same_o place_n or_o hole_n sweet_a and_o bitter_a water_n but_o yet_o for_o the_o clear_n of_o this_o point_n we_o must_v a_o little_a look_n into_o the_o nature_n of_o salt_n it_o have_v two_o special_a or_o chief_a use_n one_o to_o make_v meat_n that_o be_v savoury_a more_o sweet_a to_o be_v eat_v and_o better_o please_v the_o palate_n or_o taste_n the_o other_o to_o preserve_v every_o thing_n almost_o from_o stink_v and_o corruption_n so_o that_o first_o sanctity_n be_v it_o that_o make_v speech_n gracious_a delightful_a and_o fit_a to_o edification_n and_o therefore_o meet_v also_o and_o fit_a to_o be_v direct_v to_o the_o ear_n yea_o to_o the_o understanding_n of_o the_o hearer_n second_o it_o purge_v the_o very_a speech_n themselves_o and_o preserve_v they_o from_o all_o impurity_n stinch_v rottenness_n corruption_n etc._n etc._n whereas_o otherwise_o without_o this_o sanctity_n the_o speech_n itself_o will_v be_v in_o itself_o filthy_a and_o corrupt_a indeed_o and_o as_o it_o be_v with_o a_o certain_a kind_n of_o putrefaction_n corrupt_v the_o mind_n of_o the_o hearer_n which_o the_o apostle_n express_o forbid_v ephes_n 4._o 29._o let_v no_o corrupt_a communication_n proceed_v out_o of_o your_o mouth_n by_o which_o we_o may_v learn_v one_o singular_a point_n and_o that_o be_v this_o that_o as_o filthy_a and_o foolish_a speech_n bewray_v want_v of_o true_a sanctity_n in_o he_o that_o use_v it_o or_o take_v delight_n in_o the_o speak_n or_o hear_v of_o it_o so_o it_o be_v one_o special_a mean_a i_o mean_v lack_n of_o true_a holiness_n which_o neither_o good_a speech_n of_o good_a thing_n be_v so_o powerful_a in_o he_o that_o speak_v they_o nor_o so_o profitable_a in_o the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o thy_o virtue_n that_o can_v be_v give_v to_o a_o man_n 1._o cor._n 13._o without_o charity_n the_o gift_n of_o tongue_n be_v nothing_o the_o gift_n of_o pprophecy_n of_o wisdom_n of_o faith_n of_o do_v miracle_n of_o alm_n deed_n all_o be_v nothing_o and_o last_o of_o long_a suffering_n it_o be_v nothing_o without_o this_o charity_n it_o may_v well_o be_v thou_o the_o action_n o_o there_o be_v no_o small_a respect_n to_o be_v have_v of_o the_o manner_n of_o do_v which_o be_v the_o very_a habit_n and_o clothing_n of_o it_o now_o the_o action_n come_v from_o the_o hand_n o_o but_o the_o form_n the_o manner_n the_o habit_n which_o be_v the_o ornament_n of_o it_o come_v from_o the_o heart_n now_o the_o heart_n of_o he_o do_v the_o good_a deed_n if_o it_o be_v evil_o affect_v the_o action_n if_o it_o be_v never_o so_o good_a it_o have_v a_o evil_a habit_n on_o it_o it_o be_v evil_o favour_v to_o the_o lord_n how_o pleasant_a so_o ever_o it_o seem_v in_o the_o eye_n of_o man_n yet_o it_o be_v not_o acceptable_a to_o the_o lord_n all_o be_v lose_v yea_o all_o good_a work_n if_o they_o want_v this_o love_n stink_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o thou_o shall_v never_o get_v good_a of_o they_o but_o if_o the_o heart_n be_v dispose_v with_o love_n that_o come_v of_o faith_n in_o jesus_n christ_n than_o thy_o action_n appear_v before_o the_o lord_n in_o a_o fair_a beauty_n and_o he_o make_v that_o deed_n thou_o do_v to_o return_v back_o to_o thou_o to_o thy_o it_o a_o good_a work_n return_v back_o with_o much_o comfort_n to_o he_o which_o do_v it_o good_a as_o it_o be_v good_a to_o he_o to_o who_o thou_o do_v it_o therefore_o let_v every_o one_o seek_v to_o be_v clad_v with_o all_o virtue_n and_o good_a office_n but_o condemn_v all_o because_o by_o their_o break_a note_n of_o music_n they_o break_v the_o word_n of_o the_o scripture_n and_o so_o they_o darken_v the_o sentence_n that_o the_o word_n can_v be_v her_o mind_n one_o evil_a or_o other_o against_o he_o yea_o while_o she_o be_v show_v herself_o obedient_a to_o her_o husband_n outward_o her_o mind_n will_v be_v occupy_v on_o her_o harlotry_n with_o another_o this_o be_v no_o single_a obedience_n and_o the_o cause_n be_v for_o as_o much_o as_o thy_o eye_n be_v not_o upon_o the_o lord_n and_o it_o be_v impossible_a that_o thou_o can_v be_v sincere_a in_o thy_o do_v except_o thy_o eye_n be_v upon_o the_o lord_n last_o do_v all_o for_o his_o sake_n and_o in_o sincerity_n who_o shall_v reward_v thou_o what_o benefit_n shall_v thou_o get_v shall_v it_o be_v a_o temporal_a thing_n that_o he_o can_v bestow_v upon_o thou_o no_o no_o the_o lord_n jesus_n who_o thou_o prefer_v in_o the_o obey_n of_o thy_o christ_n great_a reward_n for_o serve_v christ_n husband_n and_o service_n do_v to_o he_o he_o shall_v meet_v thou_o and_o reward_v thou_o with_o a_o crown_n of_o glory_n woe_n be_v it_o for_o i_o &_o thou_o if_o in_o his_o that_o be_v holy_a and_o chaste_a not_o a_o harlot_n love_n if_o thou_o have_v a_o harlot_n heart_n thou_o defile_v thyself_o and_o thy_o wife_n both_o these_o be_v the_o three_o property_n of_o this_o love_n first_o it_o be_v a_o deep_a love_n in_o the_o heart_n second_o it_o must_v rest_v only_o on_o thy_o wife_n and_o three_o it_o must_v be_v chaste_a ephes_n 5._o 25._o paul_n say_v husband_n love_v your_o wife_n how_o shall_v you_o love_v they_o he_o say_v as_o christ_n love_v his_o church_n albeit_o he_o can_v attain_v to_o the_o greatness_n and_o quantity_n of_o this_o love_n thou_o for_o there_o be_v not_o a_o faithful_a servant_n but_o he_o that_o be_v the_o servant_n of_o christ_n and_o in_o his_o service_n have_v ever_o his_o eye_n to_o the_o will_n of_o christ_n and_o if_o thou_o have_v such_o a_o servant_n than_o thou_o shall_v have_v a_o blessing_n of_o that_o servant_n though_o it_o be_v but_o a_o kitchen_n lass_n o_o bless_a be_v that_o house_n that_o have_v a_o servant_n that_o fear_v the_o lord_n and_o love_v the_o lord_n yea_o a_o great_a blessing_n follow_v that_o servant_n then_o follow_v the_o master_n oftentimes_o now_o follow_v the_o argument_n to_o move_v they_o to_o this_o holy_a servant_n argument_n to_o move_v servant_n service_n the_o first_o be_v from_o the_o reward_n that_o the_o faithful_a servant_n shall_v receive_v know_v that_o of_o the_o lord_n you_o shall_v receive_v the_o reward_n of_o the_o inheritance_n the_o argument_n be_v take_v not_o from_o a_o hire_n they_o get_v present_o but_o from_o a_o promise_n of_o a_o hire_n now_o certain_o thou_o be_v a_o wicked_a servant_n that_o will_v not_o do_v a_o turn_v till_o thou_o get_v thy_o hire_n in_o thy_o hand_n thou_o be_v a_o wicked_a servant_n that_o will_v do_v nothing_o till_o thou_o get_v heaven_n in_o thy_o hand_n i_o tell_v thou_o thou_o shall_v never_o get_v heaven_n if_o thou_o can_v depend_v upon_o a_o promise_n of_o heaven_n there_o be_v here_o because_o thou_o have_v it_o not_o in_o thy_o hand_n but_o bless_v be_v thou_o if_o thou_o cause_v wait_v upon_o the_o promise_n and_o believe_v it_o now_o to_o prove_v that_o they_o shall_v get_v this_o reward_n first_o he_o take_v a_o argument_n from_o their_o own_o knowledge_n know_v know_v you_o not_o i_o appeal_v to_o your_o own_o conscience_n if_o there_o be_v not_o a_o reward_n lay_v up_o for_o thou_o if_o thou_o serve_v faithful_o tell_v not_o thy_o conscience_n thou_o this_o i_o will_v serve_v for_o i_o look_v for_o a_o kingdom_n it_o be_v not_o this_o small_a hire_n no_o that_o lord_n who_o i_o have_v serve_v from_o morning_n to_o night_n he_o will_v give_v i_o a_o kingdom_n brethren_n it_o be_v a_o thing_n impossible_a that_o faith_n can_v beguile_v a_o man_n hope_v then_o yea_o it_o may_v be_v city_n with_o they_o in_o which_o respect_n also_o he_o speak_v afterward_o of_o epaphras_n vers_fw-la 12._o of_o this_o chapter_n and_o of_o this_o very_a onesimus_n in_o his_o righteous_a man_n be_v much_o available_a special_o if_o they_o be_v fervent_a so_o say_v s._n james_n then_o the_o supplication_n of_o a_o godly_a and_o faithful_a minister_n be_v likewise_o pierce_v last_o observe_v that_o the_o apostle_n high_o yea_o and_o as_o it_o be_v before_o other_o commend_v epaphras_n to_o the_o colossian_n and_o particular_o for_o this_o that_o he_o be_v their_o
