of_o prayer_n only_o the_o heavenly_a contemplation_n and_o sweetness_n may_v be_v taste_v we_o must_v further_o know_v that_o prayer_n may_v be_v divide_v into_o three_o degree_n viz._n request_n beseechings_n &_o thankesgiving_n our_o request_n as_o s._n bernard_n say_v be_v most_o common_o apply_v about_o the_o obtain_n of_o temporal_a thing_n and_o the_o necessity_n of_o this_o life_n which_o request_v god_n approve_v of_o the_o mind_n of_o the_o asker_n do_v notwithstanding_o that_o which_o seem_v best_a to_o himself_o let_v none_o of_o the_o faithful_a therefore_o think_v that_o their_o prayer_n or_o request_n be_v little_o esteem_v for_o god_n who_o hear_v their_o prayer_n do_v not_o light_o esteem_v of_o they_o but_o before_o their_o prayer_n go_v out_o of_o their_o mouth_n and_o doubt_v for_o he_o be_v unworthy_a of_o any_o spiritual_a blessing_n from_o god_n who_o strive_v not_o to_o overcome_v all_o waver_a doubtfulness_n of_o god_n merciful_a love_n towards_o he_o and_o when_o he_o pray_v unto_o god_n he_o seem_v to_o tempt_v god_n when_o he_o doubt_v that_o the_o spiritual_a thing_n which_o he_o desire_v to_o obtain_v &_o which_o he_o have_v pray_v for_o shall_v not_o be_v give_v unto_o he_o therefore_o when_o thou_o praie_v for_o that_o which_o god_n both_o commend_v and_o command_v ask_v without_o doubt_v and_o thou_o shall_v assure_o obtain_v as_o in_o the_o example_n before_o show_v when_o you_o ask_v the_o remission_n of_o sin_n true_a repentance_n the_o grace_n of_o god_n holy_a spirit_n true_a christian_a virtue_n wisdom_n faith_n righteousness_n humility_n patience_n charity_n mercifulnesse_n and_o such_o like_a spiritual_a grace_n for_o god_n have_v promise_v all_o these_o command_v we_o to_o pray_v for_o they_o say_v ask_v and_o you_o shalâ—_n have_v be_v not_o faint_a heart_a therefore_o in_o thy_o prayer_n for_o god_n will_v sure_o grant_v thy_o desire_n howsoever_o he_o defer_v to_o give_v he_o will_v not_o take_v his_o mercy_n and_o grace_n from_o thou_o but_o trust_v in_o the_o lord_n and_o he_o will_v give_v thou_o thy_o heart_n desire_v and_o though_o thou_o receive_v not_o these_o blessing_n present_o of_o his_o spiritual_a grace_n yet_o thou_o shall_v sure_o receive_v they_o for_o god_n who_o be_v truth_n itself_o neither_o can_v nor_o will_v deceive_v they_o that_o put_v their_o trust_n in_o he_o hold_v fast_o therefore_o thy_o faith_n and_o god_n will_v never_o fail_v to_o perform_v his_o promise_n he_o will_v not_o present_o give_v thou_o that_o which_o thou_o ask_v that_o thou_o may_v learn_v with_o great_a desire_n to_o beg_v that_o which_o be_v great_a thy_o prayer_n be_v not_o present_o hear_v that_o according_a to_o the_o time_n that_o they_o be_v defer_v the_o great_a what_o war_n what_o earthquake_n what_o overthrowing_n of_o all_o thing_n what_o destruction_n of_o city_n and_o country_n what_o multitude_n of_o poison_n murder_n &_o other_o mischief_n compass_v we_o about_o in_o our_o life_n by_o which_o rich_a and_o poor_a prince_n and_o subject_n master_n &_o servant_n and_o all_o sort_n of_o people_n of_o what_o age_n or_o degree_n soever_o be_v come_v of_o adam_n loin_n be_v all_o subject_n unto_o let_v all_o therefore_o fly_v unto_o this_o healthful_a remedy_n of_o prayer_n both_o prince_n &_o people_n but_o because_o the_o most_o part_n be_v unskilful_a what_o or_o how_o to_o pray_v our_o heavenly_a lord_n and_o master_n jesus_n christ_n have_v give_v we_o a_o special_a form_n short_a and_o most_o perfect_a and_o such_o as_o no_o
