inward_a sigh_n and_o heavenly_a desire_n but_o what_o be_v they_o the_o better_a for_o they_o will_n some_o say_v if_o they_o can_v pour_v they_o forth_o before_o the_o lord_n in_o a_o outward_a form_n of_o prayer_n they_o be_v much_o the_o better_a because_o as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o 27._o verse_n he_o that_o search_v the_o heart_n know_v the_o meaning_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o he_o so_o know_v it_o that_o he_o approve_v of_o it_o and_o delight_v in_o it_o if_o there_o be_v never_o so_o many_o good_a word_n and_o those_o utter_v by_o the_o very_a saint_n of_o god_n themselves_o yet_o and_o disquiet_v his_o heart_n thus_o it_o ought_v not_o to_o be_v neither_o will_v it_o be_v thus_o with_o those_o that_o ask_v in_o faith_n for_o they_o know_v that_o they_o shall_v obtain_v &_o that_o it_o shall_v be_v unto_o they_o according_a to_o their_o faith_n that_o either_o they_o shall_v have_v the_o particular_a thing_n that_o they_o ask_v or_o a_o better_a in_o steed_n thereof_o and_o therefore_o they_o pray_v still_o and_o wait_v god_n leisure_n and_o herein_o they_o much_o honour_v the_o lord_n in_o that_o they_o cast_v themselves_o upon_o the_o truth_n of_o his_o promise_n and_o do_v not_o trouble_v their_o heart_n with_o unnecessary_a fear_n and_o care_n about_o the_o success_n which_o be_v god_n work_n and_o not_o they_o man_n will_v be_v glad_a to_o be_v rid_v of_o witness_n that_o be_v a_o competent_a and_o sufficient_a number_n of_o faithful_a preacher_n which_o be_v like_o olive_n tree_n to_o distil_v the_o oil_n of_o 4._o verse_n 4._o grace_n into_o man_n heart_n and_o like_a candlestick_n to_o hold_v forth_o the_o light_n unto_o those_o that_o live_v in_o darkness_n and_o ignorance_n but_o what_o be_v the_o effect_n of_o their_o preach_n it_o be_v say_v that_o these_o two_o prophet_n 10._o verse_n 10._o vex_v they_o that_o dwell_v on_o the_o earth_n that_o be_v all_o earthly_a mind_a man_n all_o such_o as_o be_v ignorant_a and_o proud_a world_n who_o can_v not_o endure_v to_o have_v their_o ignorance_n their_o idolatry_n their_o hypocrisy_n the_o ill_a government_n of_o their_o tongue_n of_o their_o affection_n and_o of_o their_o family_n lay_v open_a and_o disgrace_v and_o the_o reformation_n of_o these_o corruption_n urge_v and_o press_v upon_o their_o conscience_n to_o this_o same_o purpose_n we_o may_v observe_v further_o how_o mad_a and_o outrageous_a they_o be_v against_o steven_n act_v 7._o when_o he_o come_v with_o sound_a doctrine_n to_o their_o unsound_a heart_n it_o be_v say_v when_o they_o hear_v the_o thing_n that_o he_o deliver_v etc._n act_n 7._o 54._o etc._n etc._n their_o heart_n brace_v for_o anger_n and_o they_o gnash_v at_o he_o with_o their_o tooth_n and_o so_o give_v a_o shout_n with_o a_o loud_a voice_n and_o stop_v their_o ear_n that_o they_o may_v not_o hear_v he_o any_o long_o they_o run_v upon_o he_o with_o great_a violence_n and_o carry_v he_o out_o of_o the_o city_n stone_v he_o to_o death_n reason_n the_o reason_n why_o pure_a and_o holy_a doctrine_n be_v so_o
that_o sometime_o they_o will_v because_o the_o spirit_n struggle_v and_o fight_v against_o the_o lust_n of_o the_o flesh_n now_o concern_v wicked_a man_n they_o be_v altogether_o fleshly_a and_o therefore_o when_o they_o have_v vile_a motion_n from_o nature_n or_o bad_a suggestion_n from_o satan_n they_o like_v of_o they_o and_o nourish_v and_o cherish_v they_o and_o if_o mean_n and_o furtherance_n of_o god_n service_n or_o for_o the_o relief_n of_o the_o distress_a saint_n be_v a_o matter_n that_o we_o shall_v take_v special_a notice_n of_o and_o be_v careful_a to_o magnify_v the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n for_o it_o and_o earnest_o to_o entreat_v the_o continuance_n of_o it_o as_o david_n do_v in_o this_o place_n and_o though_o we_o be_v not_o always_o alike_o but_o now_o and_o then_o dull_a and_o heavy_a and_o lumpish_a and_o drowsy_a when_o it_o please_v the_o lord_n for_o our_o humble_v to_o let_v the_o flesh_n play_v it_o part_n yet_o if_o we_o sometime_o and_o effect_n viz._n that_o it_o be_v a_o spirit_n of_o prayer_n till_o such_o time_n as_o man_n be_v make_v partaker_n hereof_o they_o may_v use_v many_o word_n of_o prayer_n but_o they_o be_v altogether_o idle_a and_o vain_a fruit_n of_o their_o flesh_n and_o not_o of_o their_o faith_n such_o as_o they_o have_v great_a cause_n to_o be_v humble_v for_o and_o no_o reason_n at_o all_o to_o be_v comfort_v in_o but_o when_o once_o they_o have_v this_o spirit_n put_v into_o their_o heart_n they_o can_v call_v upon_o the_o lord_n in_o a_o acceptable_a and_o comfortable_a manner_n then_o
