even_o nothing_o at_o all_o and_o so_o faith_n have_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o curious_a workmanship_n it_o be_v a_o great_a work_n of_o god_n the_o work_n of_o faith_n with_o power_n as_o the_o apostle_n say_v it_o be_v the_o faith_n of_o god_n power_n it_o be_v the_o like_a precious_a faith_n but_o if_o you_o take_v away_o christ_n from_o it_o alas_o it_o be_v nothing_o at_o all_o all_o its_o excellency_n be_v in_o its_o union_n to_o christ_n i_o speak_v this_o that_o i_o will_v not_o in_o the_o least_o seem_v to_o quarrel_v or_o to_o raise_v a_o controversy_n with_o any_o holy_a servant_n of_o jesus_n christ_n yet_o i_o say_v we_o be_v ready_a to_o run_v into_o such_o a_o kind_n of_o notion_n of_o faith_n as_o if_o there_o be_v some_o excellency_n in_o its_o self_n and_o because_o it_o obey_v as_o it_o be_v very_o true_a it_o do_v and_o because_o it_o purify_v the_o heart_n and_o life_n and_o lay_v argument_n and_o engagement_n of_o obedience_n i_o do_v deny_v any_o thing_n of_o this_o but_o desire_v to_o speak_v the_o same_o thing_n but_o i_o still_o affirm_v that_o we_o may_v not_o be_v mistake_v in_o faith_n for_o this_o be_v not_o its_o excellency_n no_o more_o than_o it_o be_v the_o eye_n excellency_n that_o it_o be_v curious_o make_v whereas_o it_o will_v be_v nothing_o no_o not_o so_o much_o a_o beauty_n if_o it_o be_v not_o for_o light_n it_o be_v all_o one_o as_o if_o a_o man_n be_v blind_a or_o have_v no_o eye_n so_o it_o be_v all_o one_o if_o it_o be_v not_o for_o christ_n whether_o there_o be_v such_o a_o thing_n as_o faith_n or_o no_o faith_n itself_o consider_v in_o itself_o can_v justify_v then_o the_o work_n of_o faith_n though_o they_o be_v never_o so_o excellent_a they_o can_v justify_v much_o less_o than_o faith_n itself_o and_o so_o conclude_v this_o point_n with_o the_o application_n and_o then_o there_o will_v remain_v one_o point_n more_o concern_v faith_n and_o that_o be_v the_o plerophory_n and_o full_a assurance_n they_o have_v know_v sure_o that_o i_o come_v out_o from_o thou_o and_o they_o have_v believe_v that_o thou_o do_v send_v i_o but_o that_o will_v be_v the_o last_o point_n the_o first_o thing_n therefore_o that_o i_o shall_v endeavour_v not_o in_o a_o controversal_a but_o in_o a_o practical_a applicatory_a way_n and_o in_o all_o the_o sweetness_n of_o it_o to_o all_o our_o heart_n in_o the_o power_n and_o life_n and_o virtue_n of_o it_o the_o first_o thing_n that_o i_o lay_v down_o be_v this_o that_o faith_n consider_v as_o a_o work_n it_o can_v justify_v the_o account_n that_o i_o give_v you_o of_o it_o be_v this_o that_o scripture_n do_v every_o where_o when_o it_o speak_v precise_o and_o clear_o to_o the_o point_n it_o do_v assure_v we_o it_o be_v the_o righteousness_n of_o god_n and_o not_o the_o faith_n that_o take_v the_o righteousness_n of_o god_n i_o desire_v to_o be_v very_o far_o from_o stir_v up_o any_o controversy_n but_o to_o draw_v out_o our_o heart_n i_o say_v that_o faith_n be_v now_o instead_o of_o righteousness_n and_o that_o it_o justify_v as_o the_o perfect_a righteousness_n of_o the_o law_n shall_v have_v do_v
and_o that_o this_o be_v the_o condition_n upon_o which_o christ_n be_v we_o and_o upon_o which_o his_o righteousness_n become_v we_o and_o thus_o faith_n justify_v and_o thus_o faith_n come_v to_o be_v through_o such_o very_a discourse_n of_o faith_n a_o eclipse_n upon_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n and_o so_o the_o work_n of_o faith_n come_v to_o be_v so_o also_o for_o say_v they_o because_o man_n be_v ready_a to_o be_v scandalize_v and_o it_o be_v tell_v in_o gath_n and_o publish_v in_o the_o street_n of_o askalon_n as_o the_o expression_n be_v and_o therefore_o i_o say_v we_o shall_v earnest_o desire_v to_o speak_v all_o the_o same_o thing_n and_o to_o be_v in_o one_o mind_n and_o in_o one_o judgement_n according_a to_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o then_o beside_o they_o be_v ready_a to_o stagger_v soul_n and_o to_o make_v they_o they_o know_v not_o which_o way_n to_o turn_v and_o they_o must_v dispute_v the_o thing_n with_o themselves_o and_o so_o they_o be_v keep_v off_o from_o the_o heal_a that_o wound_n of_o conscience_n and_o from_o the_o get_v that_o full_a assurance_n of_o faith_n and_o of_o hope_n and_o of_o knowledge_n so_o that_o while_o the_o wound_n of_o conscience_n and_o the_o bleed_a of_o conscience_n shall_v be_v staunch_v and_o while_o the_o close_a application_n of_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n shall_v work_v the_o cure_n the_o soul_n and_o spirit_n of_o man_n be_v great_o in_o dispute_n and_o perplexity_n which_o way_n and_o in_o what_o method_n what_o they_o shall_v lay_v first_o as_o it_o be_v to_o the_o this_o i_o say_v no_o righteousness_n but_o a_o divine_a righteousness_n a_o everlasting_a righteousness_n can_v be_v the_o righteousness_n of_o a_o lose_a and_o undo_v sinner_n of_o a_o immortal_a eternal_a soul_n lose_v and_o undo_v by_o sin_n no_o righteousness_n but_o a_o divine_a righteousness_n a_o eternal_a and_o everlasting_a righteousness_n o_o keep_v this_o always_o in_o your_o mind_n it_o must_v be_v such_o a_o righteousness_n or_o it_o will_v not_o serve_v the_o great_a purpose_n of_o your_o soul_n the_o second_o thing_n that_o i_o will_v lay_v down_o be_v this_o that_o there_o be_v no_o possibility_n that_o faith_n by_o any_o virtue_n or_o excellency_n of_o its_o own_o shall_v be_v our_o righteousness_n and_o therefore_o though_o there_o be_v a_o great_a renown_n of_o faith_n in_o the_o gospel_n compare_v with_o the_o grace_n of_o the_o spiâ—…â—f_n â—f_z god_n and_o the_o work_n of_o that_o spirit_n in_o the_o heart_n and_o life_n of_o châ—stians_n yet_o still_o it_o be_v not_o with_o relation_n to_o god_n so_o as_o to_o be_v our_o righteousness_n but_o only_o as_o i_o shall_v show_v you_o it_o take_v in_o the_o righteousness_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o wherein_o the_o excellency_n of_o it_o lie_v to_o that_o purpose_n in_o the_o three_o place_n the_o three_o position_n that_o i_o will_v lay_v down_o be_v this_o that_o though_o it_o be_v true_a that_o the_o faith_n the_o gospel_n speak_v of_o be_v a_o vigorous_a work_v active_a faith_n yet_o the_o work_n of_o faith_n be_v further_o off_o from_o the_o justify_n of_o a_o sinner_n than_o faith_n itself_o be_v so_o that_o take_v the_o most_o excellent_a work_n of_o any_o of_o the_o believer_n in_o jesus_n christ_n it_o be_v not_o their_o work_n i_o say_v it_o be_v not_o their_o work_n that_o be_v their_o righteousness_n to_o justification_n they_o be_v further_o off_o from_o justification_n than_o their_o faith_n be_v and_o yet_o this_o faith_n can_v be_v their_o justification_n the_o four_o position_n that_o i_o will_v lay_v down_o be_v this_o that_o faith_n have_v not_o a_o power_n of_o itself_o to_o take_v christ_n but_o jesus_n christ_n give_v himself_o to_o the_o soul_n and_o then_o the_o mighty_a power_n of_o faith_n flow_v out_o from_o he_o and_o twine_n about_o christ_n and_o unite_v itself_o unto_o jesus_n christ_n these_o four_o position_n i_o do_v not_o find_v upon_o the_o most_o severe_a examination_n that_o they_o do_v in_o the_o least_o abridge_v or_o take_v off_o any_o thing_n from_o the_o holiness_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o from_o the_o duty_n in_o which_o all_o christian_n be_v to_o be_v find_v and_o yet_o they_o give_v we_o indeed_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o freeness_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o will_v redeem_v we_o from_o all_o mistake_n and_o misapprehension_n or_o from_o lessen_v the_o glory_n of_o christ_n and_o his_o righteousness_n i_o begin_v at_o this_o time_n with_o the_o first_o of_o they_o and_o that_o be_v that_o no_o righteousness_n but_o a_o everlasting_a a_o divine_a righteousness_n can_v possible_o serve_v the_o case_n of_o our_o soul_n you_o find_v therefore_o in_o dan._n 9_o 24._o when_o jesus_n christ_n come_v into_o his_o great_a action_n as_o a_o mediator_n he_o be_v say_v to_o finish_v transgression_n and_o to_o make_v a_o end_n of_o sin_n and_o to_o make_v reconciliation_n for_o by_o the_o righteousness_n of_o jesus_n christ_n psal_n 119._o 144_o the_o righteousness_n of_o thy_o testimony_n be_v everlasting_a etc._n etc._n i_o say_v it_o do_v seem_v to_o refer_v to_o those_o righteous_a and_o holy_a precept_n of_o god_n but_o he_o call_v it_o the_o righteousness_n of_o thy_o testimony_n that_o be_v the_o great_a testimony_n of_o revelation_n that_o god_n have_v give_v anew_o by_o the_o word_n not_o that_o righteousness_n that_o be_v write_v upon_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n but_o the_o righteousness_n of_o the_o testimony_n of_o the_o revelation_n of_o god_n and_o act_n of_o faith_n to_o lay_v hold_v thus_o upon_o the_o son_n of_o god_n gal._n 2._o 20._o i_o be_o crucify_v with_o christ_n etc._n etc._n jesus_n christ_n be_v crucify_a through_o weakness_n as_o the_o apostle_n say_v in_o another_o place_n he_o be_v crucify_a through_o weakness_n that_o be_v as_o a_o man_n but_o he_o live_v by_o the_o power_n of_o god_n that_o be_v by_o the_o divinity_n now_o say_v the_o apostle_n i_o be_o crucify_a with_o christ_n i_o receive_v by_o communication_n from_o jesus_n christ_n as_o man_n a_o crucifixion_n of_o my_o own_o righteousness_n so_o the_o life_n which_o i_o live_v in_o the_o flesh_n i_o live_v by_o the_o faith_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n etc._n etc._n who_o have_v convey_v his_o salvation_n through_o his_o human_a nature_n the_o great_a height_n of_o faith_n be_v to_o reach_v jesus_n christ_n the_o son_n of_o god_n so_o in_o 1_o john_n 1._o 1._o you_o may_v see_v how_o the_o divine_a excellency_n of_o christ_n stream_n through_o his_o human_a nature_n unto_o eternal_a life_n that_o which_o be_v from_o the_o begin_n he_o do_v not_o say_v he_o that_o be_v from_o the_o begin_n but_o that_o which_o be_v from_o the_o begin_n to_o direct_v our_o heart_n more_o emphatical_o to_o the_o eternal_a word_n which_o we_o have_v hear_v etc._n etc._n speak_v of_o jesus_n christ_n especial_o and_o principal_o of_o his_o divine_a nature_n and_o yet_o communicate_v through_o human_a nature_n so_o that_o we_o have_v see_v with_o our_o eye_n and_o look_v upon_o and_o our_o hand_n have_v handle_v the_o word_n of_o life_n this_o therefore_o be_v the_o first_o thing_n that_o we_o may_v understand_v the_o nature_n of_o justification_n it_o be_v the_o righteousness_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n convey_v through_o the_o human_a nature_n in_o the_o second_o place_n which_o i_o have_v mention_v in_o general_a phrase_n already_o and_o i_o will_v now_o imprint_v upon_o all_o our_o heart_n through_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n that_o be_v it_o be_v not_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n divide_v from_o himself_o but_o the_o person_n of_o christ_n and_o his_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n divide_v from_o christ_n but_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n in_o himself_o as_o that_o person_n from_o who_o it_o always_o flow_v so_o that_o our_o faith_n it_o must_v be_v upon_o the_o person_n of_o jesus_n christ_n for_o indeed_o this_o be_v a_o great_a mistake_n in_o our_o understanding_n and_o in_o the_o work_n of_o our_o heart_n to_o christ_n though_o i_o will_v not_o entangle_v any_o person_n in_o the_o nicety_n of_o discourse_n but_o by_o touch_v and_o apprehend_v and_o apply_v the_o benefit_n of_o christ_n the_o believer_n do_v real_o take_v christ_n himself_o yet_o that_o we_o may_v clearly_o understand_v this_o thing_n i_o say_v it_o be_v not_o a_o righteousness_n cut_v off_o from_o christ_n and_o impute_v to_o we_o as_o if_o christ_n shall_v say_v here_o i_o lay_v you_o down_o so_o much_o we_o find_v our_o hand_n to_o shake_v a_o paralytic_a hand_n a_o palsy_n hand_n it_o be_v that_o the_o best_a of_o we_o have_v and_o if_o we_o depend_v upon_o that_o the_o hold_n that_o we_o take_v certain_o this_o rich_a righteousness_n this_o incomparable_a rich_a pearl_n will_v fall_v out_o of_o our_o hand_n do_v but_o consider_v how_o our_o hand_n shake_v in_o all_o our_o laying_n hold_v on_o christ_n but_o indeed_o it_o be_v the_o jewel_n itself_o that_o will_v be_v we_o that_o be_v please_v to_o be_v we_o that_o be_v jesus_n christ_n be_v please_v to_o be_v we_o and_o though_o our_o hand_n shake_v in_o the_o take_n of_o he_o yet_o it_o can_v shake_v or_o palsy_n as_o i_o may_v so_o express_v the_o love_n of_o christ_n in_o give_v himself_o he_o be_v constant_a and_o invariable_a in_o that_o where_o he_o love_v a_o soul_n he_o love_v he_o to_o the_o end_n as_o it_o be_v say_v peculiar_o of_o christ_n in_o that_o of_o john_n when_o he_o be_v about_o to_o die_v be_v about_o to_o depart_v out_o of_o the_o world_n have_v love_v his_o own_o which_o be_v in_o the_o world_n he_o love_v they_o to_o the_o end_n chap._n 13._o 1._o now_o if_o you_o consider_v how_o they_o behave_v themselves_o pray_v do_v but_o remember_v i_o say_v how_o these_o own_o behave_v themselves_o at_o that_o time_n when_o he_o be_v go_v out_o of_o the_o world_n they_o leave_v he_o they_o flee_v from_o he_o they_o forsake_v he_o and_o peter_n that_o pretend_v high_a deny_v he_o most_o shameful_o now_o i_o say_v if_o it_o have_v depend_v upon_o their_o faith_n they_o have_v certain_o lose_v christ_n but_o have_v love_v his_o own_o which_o be_v in_o the_o world_n he_o love_v they_o unto_o the_o end_n so_o though_o our_o faith_n be_v never_o so_o weak_a never_o so_o imperfect_a yet_o he_o that_o have_v say_v i_o have_v give_v myself_o for_o they_o and_o love_v they_o he_o hold_v they_o fast_o to_o his_o own_o gift_n and_o within_o his_o own_o gift_n though_o they_o will_v ten_o thousand_o time_n as_o i_o may_v so_o express_v it_o let_v he_o go_v if_o it_o depend_v upon_o their_o faith_n now_o in_o all_o these_o thing_n i_o humble_o desire_v to_o call_v god_n to_o witness_v that_o i_o do_v not_o speak_v for_o expression-sake_n or_o to_o set_v out_o a_o thing_n with_o all_o the_o advantage_n i_o can_v but_o real_o as_o scripture_n give_v evidence_n and_o as_o i_o hope_v i_o be_o persuade_v of_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o thing_n in_o my_o own_o heart_n by_o the_o assistance_n of_o the_o divine_a spirit_n neither_o to_o manage_v a_o controversy_n or_o any_o thing_n of_o that_o but_o that_o it_o be_v the_o necessity_n of_o our_o case_n that_o it_o shall_v be_v thus_o or_o else_o we_o be_v lose_v and_o undo_v though_o never_o so_o much_o be_v attribute_v to_o faith_n because_o our_o faith_n be_v such_o a_o cripple_n such_o a_o lame_a hand_n and_o foot_n in_o take_v christ_n and_o come_v to_o he_o that_o we_o shall_v certain_o lose_v he_o if_o he_o do_v not_o resolve_v to_o make_v good_a his_o own_o gift_n of_o himself_o to_o we_o and_o then_o in_o the_o three_o place_n i_o argue_v that_o it_o can_v be_v in_o faith_n itself_o because_o than_o christ_n shall_v die_v to_o bring_v in_o something_o more_o imperfect_a than_o the_o first_o righteousness_n that_o be_v give_v to_o man_n christ_n shall_v die_v to_o bring_v in_o something_o more_o imperfect_a and_o yet_o still_o it_o shall_v be_v our_o own_o and_o we_o shall_v glory_v in_o it_o even_o as_o our_o first_o righteousness_n for_o now_o when_o god_n make_v man_n he_o make_v he_o perfect_a as_o the_o scripture_n express_v he_o make_v he_o in_o his_o own_o image_n in_o his_o own_o righteousness_n knowledge_n and_o in_o true_a holiness_n and_o there_o be_v a_o perfection_n there_o be_v no_o blemish_n as_o to_o the_o creation_n of_o god_n and_o so_o far_o as_o it_o can_v be_v in_o a_o creature_n why_o now_o god_n in_o his_o infinite_a wisdom_n in_o the_o abyss_n and_o unfathomable_a depth_n of_o his_o own_o wisdom_n and_o understanding_n he_o leave_v man_n to_o fall_v and_o all_o man_n as_o the_o apostle_n argue_v rom._n 3._o they_o have_v sin_v and_o fall_v short_a of_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o what_o be_v it_o that_o follow_v from_o this_o it_o therefore_o follow_v say_v the_o apostle_n that_o there_o can_v be_v no_o glory_v before_o god_n be_v more_o imperfect_a than_o the_o first_o knowledge_n righteousness_n and_o true_a holiness_n in_o which_o god_n create_v man_n and_o yet_o it_o shall_v be_v our_o own_o and_o boast_v shall_v arise_v from_o this_o that_o we_o have_v believe_v nay_o if_o it_o be_v our_o believe_v than_o it_o be_v a_o more_o imperfect_a thing_n i_o say_v that_o be_v bring_v in_o and_o boast_v will_v not_o be_v exclude_v by_o this_o law_n of_o faith_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v very_o evident_a that_o faith_n be_v not_o the_o thing_n that_o justifve_v but_o only_o that_o which_o faith_n receive_v that_o be_v the_o righteousness_n of_o god_n in_o jesus_n christ_n be_v the_o only_a â—hing_n that_o justifi_v and_o this_o i_o desire_v shall_v be_v imprint_v upon_o our_o thought_n upon_o our_o heart_n to_o this_o great_a end_n and_o purpose_n that_o we_o may_v always_o lie_v low_a before_o god_n and_o that_o we_o may_v say_v we_o will_v boast_v in_o he_o all_o the_o day_n long_o live_v and_o die_v and_o be_v we_o but_o able_a to_o be_v cut_v off_o from_o every_o thing_n in_o ourselves_o and_o to_o lay_v fast_o hold_v upon_o god_n and_o christ_n and_o to_o have_v our_o whole_a in_o he_o our_o whole_a in_o god_n our_o whole_a in_o christ_n this_o be_v the_o true_a life_n of_o faith_n the_o true_a excellency_n of_o faith_n to_o have_v nothing_o at_o all_o in_o all_o in_o ourselves_o as_o i_o shall_v speak_v further_o to_o you_o therefore_o i_o go_v on_o to_o the_o four_o particular_a and_o that_o be_v to_o affirm_v this_o that_o it_o can_v be_v by_o faith_n as_o any_o take_v my_o portion_n it_o be_v give_v in_o and_o it_o be_v out_o of_o god_n and_o out_o of_o christ_n it_o be_v in_o i_o this_o will_v present_o be_v a_o break_a cistern_n or_o it_o will_v dry_v up_o of_o itself_o it_o will_v fail_v or_o let_v out_o that_o precious_a thing_n commit_v to_o it_o it_o will_v certain_o do_v so_o and_o therefore_o here_o be_v our_o great_a security_n that_o we_o be_v never_o out_o of_o god_n and_o christ_n as_o be_v evident_a throughout_o eternity_n by_o
say_v faith_n indeed_o be_v of_o great_a holiness_n and_o of_o great_a operation_n but_o it_o take_v hold_v of_o christ_n only_o by_o way_n of_o receipt_n and_o dependence_n and_o so_o we_o be_v alone_o justify_v by_o it_o i_o will_v fain_o clear_v one_o particular_a more_o that_o you_o may_v be_v very_o absolute_a in_o this_o great_a point_n wherein_o the_o excellency_n of_o faith_n lie_v therefore_o though_o i_o acknowledge_v all_o that_o scripture_n have_v speak_v by_o way_n of_o commendation_n of_o faith_n yet_o i_o must_v humble_a faith_n as_o i_o may_v so_o express_v it_o before_o you_o as_o to_o this_o very_a particular_a for_o faith_n can_v no_o more_o take_v god_n or_o christ_n or_o the_o righteousness_n of_o god_n or_o of_o christ_n than_o any_o of_o we_o can_v span_v the_o take_v hold_n of_o god_n and_o christ_n than_o as_o i_o say_v before_o any_o one_o of_o we_o can_v take_v that_o great_a globe_n of_o the_o sun_n into_o our_o hand_n but_o god_n give_v himself_o and_o jesus_n christ_n give_v himself_o by_o a_o free_a and_o absolute_a will_n and_o when_o he_o give_v himself_o he_o draw_v out_o by_o himself_o such_o a_o turn_n of_o the_o soul_n back_o unto_o himself_o that_o it_o cause_v the_o soul_n by_o faith_n to_o twist_v about_o he_o he_o draw_v out_o himself_o so_o to_o it_o that_o by_o faith_n it_o return_v with_o such_o a_o twist_n of_o the_o heart_n to_o himself_o that_o it_o never_o unclose_v any_o more_o that_o be_v the_o great_a and_o mighty_a power_n of_o god_n and_o christ_n and_o of_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n christ_n become_v wisdom_n and_o righteousness_n to_o the_o soul_n draw_v out_o this_o twist_v of_o the_o soul_n about_o he_o which_o the_o scripture_n call_v faith_n this_o lay_v hold_n upon_o he_o this_o as_o the_o scripture_n call_v it_o be_v lean_v upon_o he_o and_o roll_v of_o our_o self_n upon_o he_o let_v no_o man_n despise_v these_o expression_n see_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n have_v sanctify_v they_o it_o be_v just_a as_o the_o sun_n it_o call_v out_o the_o eye_n and_o the_o motion_n of_o the_o eye_n to_o twist_n about_o it_o and_o to_o unite_v with_o it_o by_o see_v in_o the_o very_a i_o and_o so_o as_o john_n speak_v concern_v love_n we_o love_v he_o because_o he_o first_o love_v we_o so_o we_o apprehend_v he_o because_o he_o first_o apprehend_v we_o as_o i_o have_v show_v you_o out_o of_o phil._n 3._o 12._o if_o that_o i_o may_v apprehend_v that_o for_o which_o also_o i_o be_o apprehend_v of_o christ_n jesus_n a_o man_n will_v never_o apprehend_v christ_n if_o he_o be_v transparency_n show_v the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n flow_v from_o himself_o above_o what_o love_n repentance_n or_o any_o other_o grace_n or_o gracious_a action_n can_v do_v as_o be_v only_o as_o i_o have_v say_v dependence_n receive_v trust_v yet_o this_o faith_n as_o take_v christ_n and_o unite_n to_o he_o be_v more_o than_o manifestation_n it_o be_v consummative_a of_o our_o title_n christ_n we_o and_o we_o his_o christ_n be_v wisdom_n to_o we_o in_o this_o wise_a grace_n of_o faith_n and_o thus_o as_o in_o a_o consummate_v title_n we_o be_v say_v to_o be_v justify_v by_o faith_n faith_n be_v impute_v to_o righteousness_n but_o christ_n our_o wisdom_n be_v also_o our_o righteousness_n in_o high_a gospel_n truth_n the_o second_o account_n be_v two_o else_o it_o will_v not_o be_v for_o the_o happiness_n and_o good_a of_o that_o soul_n that_o have_v christ_n it_o can_v be_v that_o christ_n shall_v be_v a_o saviour_n and_o that_o the_o soul_n shall_v not_o know_v it_o therefore_o i_o say_v it_o be_v necessary_a it_o shall_v be_v throughout_o the_o soul_n make_v know_v by_o faith_n i_o confess_v there_o be_v a_o time_n and_o a_o long_a time_n even_o from_o believe_v and_o therefore_o it_o be_v a_o very_a great_a truth_n that_o faith_n be_v a_o manifestation_n to_o we_o and_o within_o we_o that_o christ_n be_v we_o when_o our_o soul_n receive_v the_o touch_n of_o his_o love_n and_o grace_n upon_o we_o and_o we_o come_v to_o know_v and_o find_v the_o sweetness_n to_o taste_v that_o the_o lord_n be_v gracious_a and_o to_o know_v what_o a_o pearl_n we_o have_v in_o some_o measure_n and_o that_o we_o find_v christ_n be_v we_o and_o have_v give_v himself_o for_o we_o in_o the_o three_o place_n there_o can_v not_o else_o be_v a_o manifestatory_n glory_n it_o be_v true_a christ_n be_v glorious_a as_o a_o saviour_n but_o we_o can_v not_o glorify_v he_o if_o we_o do_v not_o know_v by_o faith_n that_o he_o be_v such_o a_o saviour_n this_o be_v that_o that_o the_o soul_n make_v its_o boast_n in_o god_n by_o this_o draw_v it_o to_o glory_n in_o christ_n and_o to_o give_v all_o the_o glory_n it_o can_v do_v to_o he_o because_o it_o find_v it_o be_v save_v by_o he_o and_o he_o alone_o now_o it_o be_v very_o evident_a god_n have_v no_o need_n of_o glory_n from_o angel_n nor_o from_o man_n to_o manifest_v his_o glory_n by_o they_o but_o it_o conclude_v it_o to_o be_v the_o very_a sense_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o all_o those_o expression_n that_o we_o be_v justify_v by_o faith_n and_o live_v by_o faith_n these_o thing_n i_o say_v show_v to_o we_o the_o worthlessness_n of_o faith_n in_o itself_o and_o yet_o that_o it_o be_v consummative_a and_o a_o consummation_n of_o our_o title_n to_o christ_n and_o to_o his_o righteousness_n i_o will_v only_o first_o answer_n one_o more_o seem_v great_a objection_n against_o this_o representation_n of_o faith_n i_o have_v give_v as_o if_o it_o be_v only_o the_o imprint_v the_o world_n even_o our_o faith_n who_o be_v he_o that_o overcome_v the_o world_n but_o he_o that_o believe_v that_o jesus_n be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n o_o but_o may_v the_o soul_n say_v here_o be_v the_o difficulty_n how_o shall_v i_o do_v to_o believe_v this_o that_o jesus_n christ_n be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n that_o he_o come_v forth_o from_o god_n and_o that_o god_n do_v send_v he_o why_o say_v the_o apostle_n this_o be_v he_o that_o come_v by_o water_n and_o blood_n even_o jesus_n christ_n not_o by_o water_n but_o by_o water_n and_o blood_n and_o it_o be_v the_o spirit_n that_o bear_v can_v you_o have_v a_o full_a expression_n that_o the_o full_a assurance_n of_o hope_n in_o christ_n christ_n in_o you_o the_o hope_n of_o glory_n it_o be_v he_o himself_o that_o bear_v up_o this_o and_o do_v not_o take_v he_o it_o be_v but_o faith_n in_o a_o dream_n as_o the_o prophet_n speak_v the_o hungry_a man_n dream_n that_o he_o eat_v and_o he_o awake_v and_o behold_v he_o be_v empty_a and_o he_o dream_n he_o drink_v and_o wake_v and_o find_v himself_o scorch_v with_o thirst_n so_o a_o man_n dream_n he_o take_v christ_n but_o he_o miss_v he_o and_o lo_o nothing_o be_v in_o his_o
