inward_o in_o itself_o and_o before_o god_n by_o a_o sincere_a sanctification_n and_o holy_a disposition_n and_o so_o their_o heart_n differ_v from_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o former_a hearer_n for_o though_o they_o in_o receyve_v the_o worde_n with_o joy_n in_o believe_v it_o and_o bring_v forth_o some_o fruit_n of_o it_o do_v make_v some_o fair_a show_n and_o give_v some_o outward_a sign_n of_o in_o they_o it_o may_v enter_v into_o their_o heart_n yet_o it_o can_v pierce_v into_o the_o bottom_n of_o they_o it_o may_v be_v some_o root_n yet_o very_a ebb_n and_o shallow_a it_o may_v prosper_v for_o a_o while_n and_o they_o make_v some_o profession_n of_o it_o yet_o not_o long_o and_o in_o regard_n hereof_o they_o become_v unprofitable_a hearer_n so_o as_o from_o hence_o we_o may_v observe_v a_o double_a danger_n and_o inconvenience_n of_o a_o heart_n that_o be_v not_o thorough_o mollify_v to_o the_o bottom_n it_o both_o hinder_v the_o root_n of_o the_o word_n and_o also_o the_o fruitfulness_n of_o it_o 1._o it_o hinder_v the_o root_n of_o the_o word_n so_o as_o it_o can_v possible_o go_v deep_a enough_o the_o word_n shall_v descend_v to_o the_o bottom_n of_o the_o heart_n and_o there_o take_v root_n and_o be_v continual_o nourish_v with_o the_o moisture_n of_o it_o but_o it_o can_v descend_v so_o far_o unless_o it_o be_v thorough_o mollify_v not_o only_o they_o who_o heart_n be_v altogether_o hard_o as_o be_v the_o hart_n of_o pharaoh_n when_o he_o hear_v moses_n and_o aaron_n and_o the_o scribe_n and_o pharisee_n when_o they_o hear_v christ_n but_o also_o they_o who_o heart_n be_v soften_v only_o in_o part_n be_v unprofitable_a hearer_n as_o not_o only_o those_o rock_n which_o be_v bare_a on_o the_o top_n and_o altogether_o hard_a and_o have_v no_o manner_n of_o soil_n and_o moisture_n above_o but_o likewise_o those_o which_o be_v cover_v with_o a_o little_a moisture_n and_o earth_n above_o but_o not_o much_o be_v unfit_a to_o receive_v seed_n the_o blade_n but_o never_o to_o bear_v a_o ripe_a ear_n so_o they_o who_o have_v heart_n altogether_o harden_v will_v not_o hear_v or_o at_o least_o not_o receive_v the_o word_n of_o god_n at_o all_o into_o any_o part_n of_o their_o heart_n but_o those_o who_o have_v heart_n partly_o soft_a and_o partly_o hard_a may_v receive_v the_o word_n and_o retain_v it_o for_o a_o time_n but_o will_v never_o bring_v forth_o the_o fruit_n of_o it_o wherefore_o the_o holy_a ghost_n say_v in_o the_o psalm_n and_o it_o be_v apply_v by_o the_o apostle_n to_o the_o hearer_n 7._o of_o the_o gospel_n to_o day_n they_o as_o a_o sick_a man_n do_v his_o meat_n again_o there_o be_v many_o who_o live_v in_o pleasure_n and_o yet_o enjoy_v little_a wealth_n who_o waste_n their_o wealth_n in_o wantonness_n and_o care_v little_a for_o riches_n so_o that_o they_o may_v have_v their_o pleasure_n for_o a_o time_n such_o be_v the_o wanton_a youth_n of_o our_o age_n who_o like_o the_o prodigal_a son_n spend_v their_o patrimony_n by_o 15._o riotous_a live_n these_o carnal_a pleasure_n will_v no_o less_o choke_v the_o seed_n of_o the_o word_n and_o hinder_v the_o fruit_n of_o it_o then_o care_v of_o the_o world_n or_o deceitfulness_n of_o riches_n solomon_n be_v a_o mirror_n of_o wisdom_n yet_o when_o he_o give_v himself_o to_o voluptousnesse_n he_o forget_v himself_o neglect_v his_o duty_n to_o his_o lamentable_a to_o see_v how_o fond_o people_n deceive_v themselves_o herein_o many_o man_n do_v harbour_v one_o noisome_a lust_n one_o corrupt_a affection_n or_o other_o in_o their_o heart_n and_o because_o they_o keep_v out_o many_o other_o they_o hope_v all_o be_v well_o with_o 45._o they_o the_o covetous_a worldling_n condemn_v the_o voluptuous_a epicure_n and_o the_o voluptuous_a epicure_n condemn_v the_o greedy_a and_o miserable_a worldling_n the_o covetous_a man_n think_v that_o he_o be_v a_o good_a christian_a because_o he_o be_v not_o give_v to_o prodigal_a licentiousness_n and_o the_o voluptuous_a man_n will_v be_v esteem_v a_o good_a hearer_n because_o he_o abhor_v worldly_a care_n and_o miserable_a covetousness_n but_o let_v they_o both_o know_v that_o either_o of_o these_o hearer_n both_o good_a and_o bad_a and_o they_o all_o hear_v one_o and_o the_o same_o doctrine_n though_o not_o after_o one_o and_o the_o same_o manner_n nor_o with_o the_o like_a efficacy_n and_o good_a that_o so_o we_o may_v be_v fruitful_a hearer_n husbandman_n have_v great_a care_n to_o make_v their_o ground_n good_a and_o fertile_a before_o they_o sow_v it_o if_o it_o be_v barren_a they_o will_v mark_v it_o they_o will_v set_v muck_n and_o dung_n on_o it_o to_o make_v it_o more_o fruitful_a as_o careful_a shall_v thou_o be_v to_o make_v thy_o heart_n good_a see_v it_o be_v the_o soil_n in_o which_o the_o lord_n heavenly_a seed_n must_v be_v sow_v if_o it_o be_v not_o good_a already_o use_v all_o good_a mean_n to_o make_v it_o good_a pray_v earnest_o unto_o god_n that_o he_o will_v sanctify_v it_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n and_o if_o it_o be_v good_a labour_v to_o make_v it_o better_o the_o better_a it_o be_v the_o more_o fruitful_a shall_v thy_o hear_n be_v and_o for_o this_o purpose_n hear_v the_o word_n often_o for_o it_o will_v make_v thy_o heart_n better_o the_o long_a that_o the_o ground_n of_o your_o field_n be_v till_v and_o sow_v the_o more_o bare_a and_o barren_a it_o will_v be_v but_o it_o be_v not_o so_o with_o the_o ground_n of_o your_o heart_n the_o often_o and_o the_o long_o they_o be_v sow_v with_o the_o seed_n of_o god_n word_n the_o more_o fruitful_a will_v they_o be_v such_o be_v the_o nature_n of_o this_o heavenly_a seed_n that_o it_o will_v not_o make_v the_o ground_n more_o barren_a but_o more_o fertile_a by_o often_o sow_v as_o the_o seed_n be_v good_a that_o be_v sow_v in_o your_o heart_n so_o let_v the_o soil_n be_v make_v answerable_a unto_o it_o and_o then_o you_o need_v not_o to_o doubt_v of_o a_o plentiful_a increase_n let_v not_o so_o good_a seed_n be_v lose_v by_o light_v into_o bad_a soil_n hear_v with_o penitent_a heart_n with_o sanctify_a heart_n with_o believe_v heart_n with_o resolve_a heart_n to_o receive_v and_o obey_v whatsoever_o be_v teach_v out_o of_o the_o word_n and_o you_o shall_v be_v happy_a hearer_n 2._o furthermore_o we_o may_v hereby_o discern_v 2._o who_o have_v good_a heart_n who_o have_v bad_a it_o be_v the_o goodness_n of_o the_o heart_n that_o make_v the_o hearer_n to_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n it_o be_v the_o corruption_n of_o the_o heart_n that_o hinder_v his_o fruitfulness_n those_o than_o that_o hear_v much_o and_o practice_v little_a have_v bad_a heart_n but_o those_o that_o hear_v and_o practice_v the_o word_n in_o their_o life_n have_v honest_a and_o good_a heart_n though_o none_o know_v the_o heart_n of_o another_o immediate_o and_o direct_o but_o god_n alone_o who_o be_v the_o only_a searcher_n of_o it_o yet_o as_o the_o physician_n can_v judge_v of_o the_o inward_a temperature_n of_o the_o body_n by_o the_o pulse_n and_o as_o we_o may_v judge_v of_o the_o tree_n by_o the_o fruit_n so_o may_v we_o judge_v of_o the_o inward_a goodness_n and_o badness_n of_o the_o heart_n by_o the_o outward_a behaviour_n in_o the_o life_n and_o to_o keep_v i_o to_o the_o present_a comparison_n of_o this_o parable_n if_o a_o man_n know_v a_o field_n sow_v in_o a_o good_a sort_n with_o good_a seed_n yet_o afterward_o do_v see_v the_o corn_n to_o be_v thin_a and_o course_n and_o yield_v no_o good_a crop_n he_o will_v say_v the_o ground_n be_v barren_a but_o if_o he_o pass_v by_o a_o close_a towards_o harvest_n time_n and_o see_v the_o corn_n very_o thick_a and_o rank_a and_o bear_v a_o long_a ear_n full_a of_o corn_n he_o will_v say_v it_o be_v good_a land_n so_o if_o we_o know_v people_n to_o be_v well_o teach_v and_o yet_o yield_v little_a obedience_n in_o their_o life_n we_o may_v just_o suspect_v that_o their_o heart_n be_v not_o upright_o before_o god_n but_o if_o we_o see_v they_o reform_v their_o life_n according_a to_o the_o word_n avoid_v those_o sin_n which_o it_o forbid_v and_o practice_v those_o duty_n which_o it_o commend_v and_o that_o in_o a_o constant_a course_n of_o their_o conversation_n we_o may_v be_v assure_v that_o their_o heart_n be_v honest_a and_o good_a if_o therefore_o you_o will_v have_v other_o to_o think_v that_o you_o have_v honest_a and_o good_a heart_n show_v forth_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o word_n in_o your_o life_n the_o second_o special_a property_n in_o these_o hearer_n be_v their_o keep_n of_o the_o word_n they_o do_v not_o only_o receive_v it_o with_o their_o heart_n and_o lay_v it_o up_o in_o the_o bottom_n of_o they_o but_o likewise_o there_o they_o keep_v it_o fast_o they_o will_v not_o let_v it_o go_v locum_fw-la out_o thence_o nor_o suffer_v any_o to_o take_v it_o from_o they_o the_o original_a word_n as_o some_o have_v observe_v be_v very_o emphatical_a and_o import_v a_o keep_n with_o much_o labour_n and_o difficulty_n and_o so_o fit_o express_v the_o manner_n of_o their_o keep_n which_o be_v with_o strive_v and_o struggle_v against_o their_o own_o corruption_n against_o satan_n suggestion_n and_o against_o the_o world_n allurement_n though_o all_o conspire_v and_o join_v their_o force_n together_o yet_o do_v they_o keep_v it_o
so_o safe_a and_o sure_a as_o that_o they_o can_v wrest_v it_o from_o they_o and_o herein_o they_o also_o differ_v from_o all_o the_o former_a hearer_n the_o first_o sort_n lose_v it_o as_o soon_o as_o they_o receive_v it_o even_o while_o they_o be_v in_o hear_v the_o devil_n take_v it_o from_o they_o the_o second_o sort_n keep_v it_o a_o while_n but_o not_o long_o for_o they_o believe_v for_o a_o time_n they_o keep_v the_o word_n no_o long_o than_o they_o keep_v their_o faith_n though_o they_o keep_v both_o in_o time_n of_o peace_n yet_o they_o lose_v both_o in_o time_n of_o persecution_n the_o three_o sort_n keep_v the_o word_n yet_o not_o long_o when_o as_o afterward_o it_o be_v choke_v by_o care_n and_o pleasure_n it_o be_v take_v from_o they_o but_o these_o keep_v it_o for_o ever_o neither_o the_o devil_n by_o his_o suggestion_n nor_o other_o man_n by_o their_o persecution_n nor_o their_o own_o lust_n by_o their_o provocation_n can_v deprive_v they_o of_o the_o word_n such_o a_o hearer_n be_v the_o bless_a virgin_n the_o mother_n of_o christ_n she_o keep_v all_o her_o saviour_n saying_n in_o her_o 51._o heart_n she_o do_v not_o only_o lay_v they_o up_o but_o also_o keep_v they_o and_o not_o only_o in_o her_o head_n but_o also_o in_o her_o heart_n and_o not_o some_o only_a but_o all_o his_o word_n and_o such_o keeper_n be_v all_o profitable_a hearer_n for_o if_o the_o word_n enter_v into_o man_n heart_n and_o afterward_o go_v out_o again_o it_o will_v do_v they_o little_a or_o no_o good_a at_o all_o though_o the_o meat_n which_o a_o man_n eat_v be_v receive_v into_o his_o stomach_n yet_o unless_o it_o continue_v there_o for_o a_o time_n and_o be_v there_o digest_v it_o will_v not_o nourish_v and_o feed_v his_o body_n though_o seed_n be_v cast_v into_o the_o furrow_n yet_o unless_o it_o do_v there_o remain_v for_o a_o season_n to_o sprout_v and_o take_v root_a it_o will_v not_o yield_v any_o crop_n to_o the_o reaper_n even_o so_o though_o the_o word_n shall_v be_v receive_v into_o the_o heart_n yet_o unless_o it_o do_v there_o abide_v it_o can_v fructify_v in_o the_o life_n but_o if_o it_o be_v there_o safe_o keep_v it_o will_v bring_v forth_o plentiful_a increase_n and_o therefore_o christ_n say_v happy_a be_v 28._o they_o which_o hear_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o keep_v it_o yea_o he_o account_v they_o more_o happy_a for_o that_o their_o keep_n of_o it_o than_o be_v the_o womb_n that_o bear_v he_o and_o the_o pap_n that_o give_v he_o suck_v the_o benefit_n of_o this_o keep_n be_v double_a 1._o it_o serve_v for_o direction_n for_o the_o word_n keep_v in_o the_o heart_n will_v direct_v a_o man_n in_o his_o life_n teach_v he_o what_o sin_n to_o avoid_v what_o duty_n to_o perform_v it_o will_v be_v a_o lantern_n unto_o his_o foot_n and_o a_o light_n unto_o his_o path_n it_o will_v be_v a_o guide_n to_o say_v unto_o he_o this_o be_v the_o way_n walk_v in_o 11._o it_o when_o he_o turn_v to_o the_o right_a hand_n or_o to_o the_o left_a and_o therefore_o david_n say_v of_o himself_o i_o have_v hide_v thy_o promise_n in_o my_o heart_n that_o i_o may_v not_o sin_v against_o thou_o as_o if_o the_o hide_v &_o keep_v of_o the_o word_n in_o the_o heart_n be_v a_o special_a and_o a_o effectual_a mean_a to_o keep_v man_n from_o sin_n and_o he_o also_o write_v of_o other_o the_o mouth_n of_o the_o righteous_a will_v speak_v of_o wisdom_n and_o his_o tongue_n 31._o will_v talk_v of_o judgement_n for_o the_o law_n of_o god_n be_v in_o his_o heart_n and_o his_o step_n shall_v not_o slide_v if_o you_o will_v careful_o and_o safe_o keep_v the_o word_n in_o your_o heart_n you_o shall_v show_v forth_o the_o fruit_n of_o it_o in_o your_o life_n 2._o it_o serve_v for_o perseverance_n it_o will_v make_v a_o man_n constant_o to_o continue_v in_o grace_n in_o obedience_n in_o the_o lord_n favour_n and_o in_o state_n of_o salvation_n it_o be_v certain_a that_o so_o long_o as_o man_n keep_v the_o word_n in_o their_o heart_n they_o can_v whole_o fall_v away_o from_o god_n now_o those_o that_o hear_v with_o good_a and_o honest_a heart_n shall_v always_o safe_o keep_v it_o neither_o can_v the_o devil_n tentation_n nor_o the_o world_n persecution_n rob_v they_o of_o it_o neither_o can_v their_o own_o corrupt_a affection_n be_v mortify_v expel_v it_o out_o of_o their_o heart_n though_o other_o hearer_n may_v loose_v the_o word_n by_o those_o mean_n yet_o not_o any_o of_o these_o which_o have_v these_o honest_a &_o good_a heart_n and_o therefore_o as_o they_o be_v now_o in_o grace_n &_o in_o state_n of_o salvation_n so_o shall_v they_o continue_v therein_o for_o ever_o whereupon_o john_n say_v whosoever_o be_v bear_v of_o god_n sin_v 9_o not_o for_o his_o seed_n remain_v in_o he_o neither_o can_v he_o sin_n because_o he_o be_v bear_v of_o god_n he_o can_v sin_v total_o and_o final_o so_o as_o he_o shall_v thereby_o quite_o cut_v off_o himself_o from_o grace_n and_o from_o salvation_n wherefore_o this_o property_n of_o these_o hearer_n confute_v their_o opinion_n who_o hold_v that_o a_o man_n once_o in_o state_n of_o grace_n may_v utter_o fall_v away_o and_o become_v a_o reprobate_n if_o any_o will_v object_v that_o so_o long_o as_o they_o keep_v the_o word_n in_o their_o heart_n they_o can_v fall_v away_o but_o they_o may_v loose_v the_o word_n it_o may_v be_v take_v out_o of_o their_o heart_n and_o then_o they_o may_v perish_v i_o answer_v that_o in_o this_o their_o argument_n they_o beg_v the_o question_n for_o neither_o can_v any_o other_o take_v the_o word_n from_o they_o neither_o shall_v they_o lose_v it_o of_o themselves_o for_o this_o perpetual_a keep_n of_o the_o word_n be_v a_o special_a property_n in_o these_o good_a hearer_n whereby_o they_o differ_v from_o all_o other_o hearer_n as_o their_o heart_n be_v far_o better_o than_o the_o rest_n so_o shall_v they_o better_o keep_v the_o word_n than_o any_o of_o the_o rest_n those_o bad_a hearer_n which_o have_v their_o heart_n mollify_v but_o in_o part_n or_o have_v their_o heart_n fraught_v with_o worldly_a care_n and_o voluptuousness_n may_v receive_v and_o keep_v the_o word_n for_o a_o time_n and_o loose_v it_o afterward_o as_o you_o hear_v before_o but_o these_o who_o have_v honest_a and_o good_a heart_n shall_v keep_v it_o and_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n this_o be_v a_o main_a difference_n betwixt_o they_o that_o the_o rest_n keep_v it_o for_o a_o time_n these_o keep_v it_o for_o ever_o if_o these_o hearer_n may_v afterward_o loose_v it_o as_o well_o as_o the_o rest_n and_o bring_v forth_o no_o fruit_n of_o it_o than_o be_v there_o no_o difference_n betwixt_o they_o and_o the_o former_a but_o certain_o there_o be_v great_a difference_n and_o therefore_o those_o who_o receive_v it_o and_o keep_v it_o not_o long_o receive_v it_o with_o bad_a heart_n those_o who_o receive_v it_o with_o good_a and_o honest_a heart_n shall_v keep_v it_o unto_o the_o end_n in_o this_o respect_n christ_n compare_v he_o that_o hear_v his_o word_n and_o do_v the_o same_o to_o a_o wise_a man_n which_o build_v his_o house_n upon_o a_o rock_n the_o 25._o rain_n fall_v the_o flood_n come_v and_o the_o wind_n blue_a and_o beat_v upon_o that_o house_n and_o it_o fall_v not_o for_o it_o be_v found_v on_o a_o rock_n so_o firm_o be_v this_o hearer_n build_v on_o christ_n that_o sure_a &_o immovable_a rock_n that_o no_o trouble_n trial_n persecution_n or_o tentation_n can_v overthrow_v he_o in_o the_o same_o respect_n christ_n say_v every_o branch_n 2._o that_o bear_v not_o fruit_n in_o i_o my_o father_n take_v away_o and_o every_o one_o that_o bear_v fruit_n he_o purge_v that_o it_o may_v bring_v forth_o more_o fruit_n to_o signify_v that_o none_o be_v cut_v off_o but_o barren_a branch_n those_o that_o be_v fruitful_a shall_v never_o be_v cut_v off_o but_o be_v make_v more_o fit_a to_o bear_v more_o fruit_n if_o it_o be_v further_o object_v that_o so_o long_o as_o their_o heart_n be_v honest_a &_o good_a they_o shall_v keep_v the_o word_n &_o bring_v forth_o the_o fruit_n thereof_o but_o their_o heart_n may_v be_v corrupt_v and_o lose_v that_o goodness_n and_o then_o they_o shall_v lose_v the_o word_n i_o also_o answer_v that_o if_o their_o heart_n be_v once_o make_v such_o good_a &_o honest_a heart_n as_o be_v here_o speak_v of_o they_o shall_v never_o be_v whole_o &_o final_o corrupt_v they_o shall_v keep_v their_o goodness_n to_o the_o end_n for_o as_o the_o apostle_n 29._o say_v the_o gift_n and_o call_n of_o god_n be_v without_o repentance_n he_o who_o first_o make_v they_o good_a will_v continue_v they_o in_o goodness_n he_o will_v confirm_v they_o unto_o the_o end_n that_o
so_o shall_v you_o be_v able_a to_o keep_v they_o for_o ever_o wherefore_o be_v careful_a to_o use_v these_o mean_n what_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o people_n hear_v much_o and_o keep_v little_a but_o be_v like_a to_o bottomless_a barrel_n which_o let_v water_n run_v out_o as_o fast_o as_o it_o be_v pour_v in_o that_o of_o all_o the_o sermon_n which_o they_o have_v hear_v in_o their_o whole_a life_n time_n they_o have_v scarce_o the_o abridgement_n of_o one_o leave_v in_o their_o heart_n or_o head_n for_o their_o direction_n and_o consolation_n but_o even_o because_o they_o have_v neglect_v these_o mean_n use_v they_o hereafter_o and_o you_o shall_v find_v how_o well_o they_o will_v make_v you_o able_a to_o keep_v that_o which_o you_o hear_v and_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n the_o three_o and_o last_o property_n in_o these_o hearer_n be_v this_o they_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n and_o this_o be_v another_o special_a difference_n betwixt_o they_o and_o all_o the_o rest_n for_o the_o rest_n either_o bring_v forth_o no_o fruit_n at_o all_o as_o the_o first_o sort_n or_o but_o for_o a_o time_n as_o the_o second_o or_o imperfect_a fruit_n and_o in_o some_o thing_n only_o as_o the_o three_o but_o these_o bring_v forth_o not_o for_o a_o while_n but_o continual_o not_o in_o some_o thing_n only_o but_o in_o all_o and_o that_o type_n and_o perfect_a fruit_n if_o good_a seed_n be_v sow_v in_o good_a ground_n it_o usual_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n for_o the_o use_n of_o they_o which_o owe_v it_o and_o sow_v it_o so_o if_o some_o doctrine_n be_v preach_v and_o people_n hear_v it_o with_o good_a heart_n it_o will_v bring_v forth_o fruit_n in_o their_o life_n these_o fruit_n be_v bring_v forth_o not_o by_o profession_n but_o by_o practice_n and_o do_v consist_v not_o so_o much_o in_o word_n as_o in_o deed_n and_o therefore_o paul_n pray_v that_o the_o philippian_n may_v be_v fill_v with_o the_o fruit_n of_o righteousness_n and_o that_o the_o colossian_n may_v please_v god_n in_o all_o 11_o thing_n be_v fruitful_a in_o all_o good_a work_n and_o he_o say_v of_o the_o roman_n that_o they_o 10._o be_v free_v from_o sin_n and_o make_v seruaant_n unto_o god_n have_v their_o fruit_n in_o holiness_n so_o that_o this_o fruit_n can_v 22._o be_v understand_v of_o the_o reward_n which_o the_o saint_n receive_v in_o heaven_n but_o of_o the_o obedience_n which_o they_o perform_v on_o earth_n for_o that_o be_v a_o fruit_n which_o they_o receyve_v this_o be_v a_o fruit_n which_o they_o bring_v forth_o that_o they_o receive_v from_o god_n this_o they_o yield_v unto_o god_n that_o be_v a_o fruit_n of_o glory_n this_o be_v a_o fruit_n of_o grace_n see_v then_o the_o disposition_n of_o these_o good_a hearer_n they_o do_v not_o only_o hear_v the_o word_n with_o their_o ear_n and_o understand_v it_o with_o their_o mind_n and_o keep_v it_o in_o their_o heart_n but_o they_o do_v also_o practice_v it_o in_o their_o life_n this_o be_v the_o chief_a end_n of_o all_o the_o rest_n therefore_o do_v they_o hear_v it_o and_o learn_v it_o and_o keep_v it_o in_o their_o heart_n that_o they_o may_v order_v their_o life_n by_o it_o and_o practice_v it_o when_o occasion_n be_v offer_v happy_a be_v all_o those_o which_o thus_o hear_v for_o as_o james_n say_v who_o so_o look_v into_o 25_o the_o perfect_a law_n of_o liberty_n and_o continue_v therein_o he_o not_o be_v a_o forgetful_a hearer_n but_o a_o doer_n of_o the_o work_n shall_v be_v bless_v in_o his_o deed_n if_o therefore_o you_o will_v have_v your_o hear_n to_o be_v acceptable_a to_o god_n and_o comfortable_a to_o your_o own_o soul_n let_v it_o end_v in_o obedience_n ground_n that_o be_v sow_v with_o good_a seed_n though_o it_o shoot_v forth_o a_o broad_a and_o rank_a blade_n will_v not_o content_v the_o owner_n unless_o it_o bring_v forth_o a_o good_a crop_n no_o more_o can_v you_o please_v the_o lord_n by_o hear_v understand_v and_o profess_v the_o word_n unless_o therewithal_o you_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n of_o obedience_n in_o your_o life_n all_o the_o knowledge_n and_o learning_n that_o man_n can_v possible_o have_v in_o any_o art_n or_o science_n be_v nothing_o worth_a without_o practice_n and_o can_v you_o think_v that_o your_o knowledge_n in_o matter_n of_o religion_n will_v profit_v you_o any_o whit_n without_o practice_n and_o indeed_o we_o learn_v no_o more_o than_o we_o practise_v as_o that_o pambo_n acknowledge_v who_o hear_v the_o first_o verse_n of_o the_o 39_o psalm_n i_o say_v i_o will_v take_v heed_n to_o my_o 18._o way_n lest_o i_o offend_v with_o my_o tongue_n confess_v that_o he_o have_v not_o learn_v it_o in_o many_o year_n because_o he_o have_v not_o in_o many_o year_n attain_v to_o the_o right_a practice_n of_o it_o we_o shall_v be_v careful_a to_o bring_v forth_o these_o fruit_n both_o in_o respect_n of_o god_n and_o also_o in_o respect_n of_o ourselves_o first_o in_o respect_n of_o god_n because_o they_o serve_v for_o his_o glory_n therefore_o say_v de_fw-fr christ_n to_o his_o disciple_n herein_o be_v 8._o my_o fathet_z glorify_v that_o you_o bear_v much_o fruit_n and_o therefore_o paul_n pray_v that_o the_o philippian_n may_v be_v fill_v with_o the_o 11_o fruit_n of_o righteousness_n which_o be_v by_o jesus_n christ_n unto_o the_o glory_n and_o praise_n of_o god_n those_o which_o glory_n in_o the_o law_n and_o break_v it_o do_v dishonour_n god_n but_o 23._o they_o which_o hear_v it_o and_o obey_v it_o do_v honour_n he_o if_o then_o you_o have_v any_o zeal_n of_o god_n glory_n bring_v forth_o those_o fruit_n again_o in_o respect_n of_o ourselves_o because_o we_o shall_v receive_v the_o reward_n of_o they_o those_o that_o have_v their_o fruit_n in_o holiness_n shall_v have_v their_o end_n in_o eternal_a life_n the_o 11._o work_n of_o darkness_n be_v unfruitful_a work_n they_o bring_v no_o good_a to_o the_o author_n but_o the_o work_n of_o righteousness_n be_v fruitful_a and_o procure_v a_o great_a reward_n to_o the_o doer_n the_o fruit_n of_o grace_n be_v the_o seed_n of_o the_o fruit_n of_o glory_n he_o that_o sow_v to_o the_o spirit_n shall_v of_o the_o spirit_n reap_v eternal_a of_o those_o here_o shall_v be_v recompense_v with_o great_a pleasure_n and_o profit_n in_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n but_o take_v heed_n lest_o you_o be_v deceive_v in_o judge_v amiss_o of_o these_o fruit_n for_o some_o have_v err_v in_o take_v those_o to_o be_v good_a fruit_n which_o be_v none_o and_o those_o to_o be_v none_o which_o be_v 1._o these_o fruit_n come_v of_o the_o seed_n
