great_a design_n and_o end_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n in_o his_o glorious_a seal_v work_n 1._o reason_n take_v from_o the_o author_n of_o this_o seal_v work_n viz._n the_o spirit_n of_o god_n who_o be_v the_o spirit_n of_o holiness_n and_o spirit_n of_o truth_n so_o christ_n call_v he_o john_n 14._o 17._o i_o will_v pray_v the_o father_n for_o you_o and_o he_o shall_v send_v you_o another_o comforter_n etc._n etc._n even_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n who_o shall_v lead_v and_o guide_v you_o into_o all_o truth_n john_n 16._o 13_o 14._o now_o he_o be_v a_o spirit_n of_o holiness_n and_o he_o will_v give_v a_o testimony_n quite_o cross_a to_o the_o word_n of_o truth_n which_o he_o will_v never_o do_v the_o elect_a themselves_o while_o in_o a_o natural_a state_n have_v no_o actual_a interest_n in_o christ_n nor_o the_o promise_n therefore_o while_o in_o that_o state_n they_o can_v have_v none_o seal_v to_o they_o they_o that_o have_v no_o actual_a interest_n in_o christ_n and_o in_o the_o promise_v of_o the_o gospel_n can_v be_v seal_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o promise_n we_o must_v my_o beloved_n be_v saint_n before_o we_o can_v be_v know_v to_o be_v so_o a_o man_n must_v be_v in_o christ_n before_o he_o can_v know_v he_o be_v in_o christ_n and_o a_o believer_n before_o he_o can_v know_v he_o be_v a_o believer_n and_o that_o he_o have_v faith_n in_o christ_n 2._o reason_n be_v take_v from_o the_o nature_n of_o this_o work_n of_o seal_v if_o you_o consider_v the_o nature_n of_o it_o it_o can_v be_v that_o unbeliever_n shall_v be_v seal_v assurance_n be_v produce_v in_o the_o soul_n of_o believer_n by_o the_o reflexive_a act_n of_o their_o faith_n the_o spirit_n in_o seal_v believer_n help_v they_o to_o reflect_v upon_o what_o he_o have_v former_o do_v and_o wrought_v in_o their_o soul_n 1_o john_n 2._o 3._o hereby_o say_v john_n we_o know_v that_o be_v we_o believer_n that_o have_v close_v in_o with_o christ_n and_o have_v he_o to_o plead_v for_o
