sin_n and_o corruption_n and_o yet_o these_o have_v and_o may_v have_v many_o false_a hope_n and_o vain_a confidence_n which_o will_v deceive_v their_o soul_n you_o read_v of_o the_o hope_n of_o the_o hypocrite_n and_o the_o house_n which_o he_o lean_v upon_o that_o will_v fall_v and_o leave_v he_o in_o utter_a despair_n for_o what_o be_v the_o vain_a hope_n and_o confidence_n of_o the_o hypocrite_n when_o god_n shall_v take_v away_o his_o soul_n job_n 8._o 13_o 14_o 15_o 13_o 16_o 27._o when_o these_o poor_a wretch_n die_v their_o vain_a hope_n of_o heaven_n die_v with_o they_o many_o take_v presumption_n for_o assurance_n and_o a_o vain_a confidence_n for_o wellgrounded_n hope_v of_o heaven_n because_o they_o have_v external_a privilege_n and_o talk_v of_o christ_n they_o think_v all_o be_v well_o and_o that_o there_o need_v no_o more_o ado_n thus_o many_o will_v go_v down_o to_o hell_n with_o a_o lie_n in_o their_o right_a hand_n that_o it_o be_v thus_o be_v clear_a from_o matth._n 7._o 22._o many_o will_v say_v to_o he_o in_o that_o day_n lord_n lord_n have_v we_o not_o prophesy_v in_o thy_o name_n and_o in_o thy_o name_n do_v many_o wonderful_a work_n cast_v vain_a confidence_n and_o put_v the_o lie_n upon_o your_o own_o soul_n as_o these_o do_v paul_n tell_v we_o of_o some_o that_o go_v a_o great_a way_n and_o attain_v to_o much_o and_o yet_o be_v not_o use_n of_o a_o seal_n in_o six_o thing_n now_o we_o shall_v through_o god_n assistance_n proceed_v further_o to_o set_v forth_o the_o privilege_n of_o seal_a believer_n by_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n and_o holiness_n and_o therefore_o second_o the_o saint_n privilege_n be_v seal_v appear_v from_o the_o author_n of_o it_o viz._n the_o holy_a spirit_n of_o promise_n this_o be_v the_o spirit_n be_v act_n and_o proper_a work_n alone_o god_n do_v not_o send_v angel_n upon_o this_o errand_n or_o to_o do_v this_o work_n but_o he_o give_v and_o send_v his_o gracious_a spirit_n to_o do_v transport_v the_o spirit_n seal_v to_o believer_n the_o pardon_n of_o their_o sin_n through_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n which_o be_v a_o great_a blessing_n and_o their_o propriety_n in_o he_o as_o their_o head_n their_o husband_n their_o friend_n their_o all_o in_o all._n this_o be_v that_o which_o believer_n long_o to_o know_v and_o be_v their_o great_a mercy_n for_o to_o know_v by_o the_o spirit_n what_o sweet_a and_o more_o transport_v to_o the_o soul_n of_o believer_n than_o this_o to_o know_v their_o sin_n which_o be_v many_o be_v pardon_v that_o christ_n be_v they_o his_o second_o that_o person_n upon_o know_v there_o present_a state_n in_o grace_n may_v be_v assure_v for_o the_o time_n to_o come_v but_o first_o i_o infer_v that_o person_n may_v know_v here_o they_o be_v in_o a_o state_n of_o grace_n and_o salvation_n that_o their_o sin_n be_v pardon_v that_o god_n be_v pacify_v towards_o they_o through_o his_o son_n and_o that_o also_o through_o christ_n they_o be_v save_v from_o hell_n and_o eternal_a wrath_n which_o for_o sin_n they_o deserve_v this_o i_o say_v believer_n
