please_a similitude_n and_o pretty_a say_n or_o solemn_a look_n or_o melt_a tone_n or_o the_o preacher_n passion_n and_o vehemence_n but_o by_o the_o weight_n and_o awaken_n force_v of_o the_o reason_n and_o thing_n themselves_o which_o touch_v our_o heart_n either_o when_o they_o come_v from_o he_o or_o afterward_o when_o we_o reflect_v and_o dwell_v upon_o they_o in_o our_o own_o meditation_n if_o we_o be_v put_v into_o a_o religious_a heat_n and_o good_a affection_n only_o by_o voice_n and_o vehemence_n and_o the_o show_n and_o solemnity_n of_o action_n that_o indeed_o be_v something_o if_o a_o wise_a man_n have_v the_o government_n of_o it_o who_o will_v apply_v it_o to_o the_o embetter_n of_o his_o life_n and_o fix_v and_o fortify_v his_o holy_a resolution_n whilst_o that_o religious_a heat_n be_v upon_o he_o though_o i_o confess_v if_o he_o stop_v in_o the_o affection_n and_o do_v not_o take_v advantage_n thereby_o to_o be_v thus_o resolve_v he_o be_v much_o more_o please_v than_o profit_v with_o it_o and_o gain_v not_o much_o of_o edification_n but_o when_o the_o conviction_n of_o our_o understanding_n go_v along_o with_o this_o agitation_n of_o our_o fancy_n in_o the_o affect_v of_o our_o heart_n and_o we_o be_v strike_v by_o consider_v the_o greatness_n of_o the_o motive_n and_o the_o weight_n of_o the_o thing_n then_o we_o have_v such_o a_o also_o mighty_o startle_v and_o convince_v our_o conscience_n and_o so_o be_v like_a to_o have_v great_a power_n over_o we_o these_o conviction_n be_v both_o potent_a and_o durable_a thing_n which_o great_o affect_v we_o for_o the_o present_a and_o stick_v by_o we_o to_o affect_v we_o equal_o when_o we_o reflect_v upon_o they_o at_o any_o time_n afterward_o 4._o a_o four_o instance_n of_o must_v needs_o be_v a_o high_a part_n of_o edification_n to_o be_v clear_o resolve_v about_o practical_a case_n and_o to_o have_v peace_n of_o mind_n upon_o safe_a ground_n and_o well-satisfied_n conscience_n so_o that_o than_o our_o soul_n be_v much_o edify_v when_o our_o doubt_n be_v clear_v and_o our_o conscience_n true_o resolve_v and_o comfort_v and_o thus_o it_o be_v when_o they_o be_v load_v with_o a_o just_a sense_n of_o necessary_a thing_n and_o free_v from_o the_o vexation_n of_o needless_a scruple_n when_o they_o be_v better_o satisfy_v either_o about_o their_o duty_n be_v resolve_v whether_o some_o doubtful_a case_n be_v either_o allow_v of_o forbid_v by_o some_o law_n or_o about_o the_o safety_n of_o their_o state_n be_v satisfy_v upon_o good_a ground_n of_o god_n favour_n and_o acceptance_n which_o will_v give_v they_o peace_n and_o joy_n in_o god_n and_o comfortable_a expectation_n and_o thus_o we_o see_v wherein_o lie_v the_o edification_n of_o particular_a man_n and_o private_a christian_n viz._n in_o any_o confirmation_n or_o improvement_n either_o of_o faith_n or_o manner_n so_o that_o then_o a_o private_a person_n may_v know_v himself_o to_o be_v
