now_o may_v not_o receive_v as_o great_a mercy_n and_o blessing_n aswell_o corporal_a as_o spiritual_a by_o faith_n as_o the_o people_n of_o the_o jew_n do_v when_o christ_n be_v conversant_a upon_o the_o earth_n we_o know_v his_o knowledge_n his_o love_n his_o mercy_n be_v not_o diminish_v or_o change_v his_o power_n and_o might_n be_v the_o same_o &_o more_o glorify_v sure_o then_o that_o which_o let_v the_o free_a course_n of_o his_o grace_n and_o mercy_n from_o we_o must_v be_v in_o ourselves_o ignorance_n hardness_n of_o heart_n and_o great_a infidelity_n so_o far_o he._n if_o now_o infidelity_n hinder_v the_o course_n of_o corporeal_a blessing_n yea_o of_o so_o great_a blessing_n as_o be_v vouchsafe_v to_o people_n body_n in_o our_o saviour_n time_n then_o necessary_o it_o follow_v that_o the_o lord_n in_o 91._o psalm_n &_o any_o other_o such_o place_n do_v make_v such_o promise_n and_o this_o be_v it_o which_o move_v another_o last_o pestâ—tymes_o to_o write_v thus_o 91â—_n if_o there_o he_o now_o such_o a_o faith_n as_o give_v credence_n unto_o god_n be_v shall_v preserve_v he_o from_o wicked_a imagination_n and_o evil_a sickness_n thus_o clapham_n in_o nothing_o will_v be_v find_v odd_a &_o singular_a let_v the_o accuser_n therefore_o be_v abash_v and_o leave_v of_o their_o unthrive_a transgression_n quere_z be_v they_o then_o to_o be_v hold_v faithless_a virtue_n whereof_o their_o flesh_n rest_v in_o hope_n of_o a_o happy_a resurrection_n and_o their_o spirit_n be_v go_v to_o god_n that_o give_v it_o so_o far_o there_o in_o they_o word_n be_v the_o former_a question_n plain_o resolve_v namely_o one_o may_v die_v of_o the_o pestilence_n have_v notwithstanding_o true_a faith_n in_o christ_n to_o their_o eternal_a justification_n &_o salvation_n but_o such_o a_o one_o so_o die_v want_v that_o faith_n whereby_o that_o particular_a temporary_a deliverance_n may_v also_o have_v be_v have_v it_o be_v not_o say_v that_o they_o have_v no_o faith_n for_o the_o contrary_n be_v affirm_v namely_o that_o such_o a_o one_o may_v have_v true_a justify_v faith_n but_o that_o in_o such_o a_o one_o there_o be_v a_o want_n of_o faith_n for_o apprehend_v this_o particular_a deliverance_n this_o temporary_a mercy_n the_o verity_n whereof_o may_v appear_v by_o that_o which_o have_v be_v say_v afore_o but_o here_o shall_v be_v urge_v further_o have_v well_o as_o justify_v faith_n be_v the_o gift_n of_o god_n i_o grant_v that_o such_o a_o one_o may_v have_v some_o swim_a conceit_n of_o deliverance_n as_o a_o reprobate_n may_v have_v his_o unroot_v conceit_n of_o soul_n salvation_n but_o virtual_o &_o true_o such_o faith_n they_o have_v not_o for_o god_n give_v not_o faith_n without_o the_o thing_n faith_v 1._o walk_v before_o i_o say_v he_o and_o be_v thou_o upright_o i_o be_o el-shaddi_a the_o strong_a god_n all-sufficient_a â—or_a answer_v thy_o faith_n and_o obedience_n and_o this_o be_v it_o which_o cause_v our_o saviour_n in_o the_o 91._o it_o be_v thus_o the_o plague_n shall_v not_o come_v near_o thou_o it_o may_v be_v demand_v say_v he_o how_o this_o can_v be_v true_a for_o that_o we_o read_v both_o in_o elder_a age_n and_o sâ—e_o daily_o that_o the_o pestilence_n where_o it_o be_v send_v do_v not_o only_o come_v near_o the_o godly_a but_o also_o smite_v dead_a etc._n etc._n the_o answer_n say_v he_o be_v this_o that_o
