suffer_v towards_o sinner_n and_o that_o for_o these_o reason_n 1._o that_o thereby_o god_n goodness_n and_o mercy_n may_v appear_v and_o the_o great_a malice_n and_o frowardness_n of_o man_n heart_n that_o can_v be_v draw_v to_o repentance_n by_o the_o lord_n rich_a and_o bounteous_a mercy_n 2._o by_o this_o god_n judgement_n appear_v to_o be_v most_o just_a when_o he_o punish_v the_o hard-hearted_a and_o incorrigable_a as_o it_o be_v evident_a in_o the_o example_n of_o pharaoh_n 3._o by_o this_o also_o god_n teach_v his_o child_n to_o be_v patient_a and_o long_o suffer_v one_o christ_n the_o paschall_n lamb_n be_v the_o same_o with_o christ_n as_o then_o the_o paschall_n lamb_n and_o other_o representation_n of_o christ_n be_v abolish_v by_o the_o come_n of_o christ_n so_o likewise_o circumcision_n be_v abolish_v when_o the_o purity_n of_o faith_n be_v require_v for_o the_o great_a measure_n of_o light_n require_v the_o great_a measure_n of_o faith_n to_o proportion_n or_o suit_n with_o it_o for_o as_o before_o or_o under_o the_o law_n when_o christ_n be_v discover_v mystical_o as_o in_o a_o glass_n by_o type_n and_o figure_n he_o be_v also_o please_v that_o their_o faith_n and_o repentance_n shall_v be_v likewise_o typify_v unto_o they_o as_o by_o circumcise_n their_o foreskin_n but_o when_o christ_n come_v clear_o to_o reveal_v himself_o then_o as_o well_o the_o representation_n of_o their_o faith_n must_v be_v remove_v viz._n circumcision_n as_o the_o other_o representation_n of_o his_o person_n and_o therefore_o as_o he_o be_v then_o visible_a and_o audable_a so_o he_o then_o likewise_o require_v that_o their_o faith_n shall_v be_v no_o more_o shroud_v under_o the_o vizard_n of_o circumcision_n but_o that_o it_o shall_v be_v as_o clear_o express_v to_o the_o world_n as_o he_o himself_o be_v in_o the_o world_n witness_v the_o former_a scripture_n baptism_n be_v then_o the_o same_o with_o circumcision_n only_o in_o this_o viz._n agree_v how_o baptism_n and_o circumcision_n agree_v that_o as_o circumcision_n do_v belong_v to_o the_o external_a covenant_n of_o god_n to_o abraham_n and_o his_o seed_n as_o that_o he_o will_v be_v their_o god_n etc._n etc._n so_o baptism_n do_v likewise_o belong_v to_o the_o internal_a covenant_n of_o grace_n and_o salvation_n and_o therefore_o when_o the_o jew_n be_v to_o take_v that_o degree_n circumcision_n can_v be_v no_o long_o a_o sign_n unto_o they_o but_o must_v give_v place_n to_o baptism_n to_o usher_v they_o into_o that_o spiritual_a society_n whereof_o it_o be_v a_o badge_n all_o then_o who_o have_v be_v hitherto_o baptise_a in_o relation_n to_o that_o external_a covenant_n as_o aforesaid_a be_v no_o more_o privilege_v by_o it_o than_o the_o jew_n be_v by_o their_o circumcision_n which_o they_o shake_v off_o when_o they_o be_v to_o be_v admit_v to_o that_o of_o grace_n &_o salvation_n by_o the_o gate_n of_o baptism_n and_o therefore_o it_o
