attain_v so_o far_o as_o to_o give_v any_o heedful_a attention_n to_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n as_o that_o which_o propound_v the_o only_a way_n of_o life_n for_o die_a soul_n 1._o some_o pitch_n upon_o false_a remedy_n and_o heal_v the_o wound_n slight_o as_o the_o prophet_n speak_v be_v deceive_v by_o their_o own_o heart_n or_o mislead_v by_o erroneous_a and_o unskilful_a teacher_n and_o the_o rock_n that_o man_n here_o usual_o split_v upon_o be_v a_o opinion_n that_o they_o may_v satisfy_v god_n and_o save_v themselves_o by_o their_o own_o work_n by_o amend_v their_o life_n break_v off_o from_o former_a sin_n and_o take_v up_o neglect_v duty_n emancipate_v themselves_o to_o the_o law_n as_o the_o prodigal_n hire_v himself_o to_o the_o citizen_n in_o hope_n to_o recover_v favour_n with_o god_n and_o escape_v his_o judgement_n by_o reformation_n of_o their_o life_n now_o they_o fall_v to_o pray_v hear_v of_o sermon_n read_v of_o scripture_n and_o other_o good_a book_n they_o forsake_v their_o bad_a company_n and_o leave_v off_o their_o licentious_a course_n and_o so_o pacify_v their_o conscience_n choke_v their_o conviction_n and_o drain_v up_o their_o sorrow_n till_o at_o length_n all_o their_o trouble_n be_v suppress_v they_o grow_v secure_a again_o and_o by_o degree_n return_v to_o their_o old_a course_n or_o else_o which_o make_v their_o case_n less_o hopeful_a have_v accustom_v themselves_o to_o a_o form_n of_o godliness_n take_v up_o with_o that_o and_o run_v the_o stage_n of_o hypocrite_n it_o be_v indeed_o their_o duty_n to_o reform_v their_o conclude_v himself_o reprobate_v because_o for_o aught_o any_o know_v he_o may_v repent_v and_o turn_v to_o god_n he_o will_v yet_o object_v object_n 6._o it_o may_v be_v god_n will_v be_v so_o of_o sinner_n all_o these_o and_o many_o more_o such_o objection_n will_v be_v unanswerable_a if_o the_o soul_n consider_v only_o the_o absolute_a mercy_n of_o god_n for_o god_n may_v indeed_o be_v merciful_a and_o glorious_o merciful_a in_o save_v sinner_n though_o he_o shall_v only_o save_v some_o of_o the_o most_o restrain_v and_o least_o provoke_v the_o soon_a yield_v and_o most_o signal_o humble_v and_o mourn_a sinner_n and_o so_o the_o soul_n that_o judge_n worse_o of_o himself_o can_v have_v no_o hope_n of_o his_o salvation_n but_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n be_v such_o as_o that_o he_o free_o offer_v his_o salvation_n to_o all_o even_o the_o worst_a of_o sinner_n to_o who_o the_o gospel_n be_v preach_v invite_v and_o command_v they_o to_o accept_v it_o and_o rely_v upon_o he_o for_o it_o and_o this_o answer_v all_o objection_n the_o worst_a the_o soul_n can_v say_v against_o himself_o exempt_v he_o not_o from_o the_o number_n of_o sinner_n and_o salvation_n be_v a_o save_a conversion_n seem_v not_o to_o have_v know_v the_o terror_n of_o the_o lord_n as_o the_o apostle_n speak_v 2_o cor._n 5.11_o 5th_o their_o usual_a trouble_n at_o the_o inconformity_n of_o their_o experience_n about_o the_o work_n of_o grace_n to_o these_o of_o other_o godly_a man_n so_o desirous_a be_v they_o to_o get_v beyond_o doubt_n of_o their_o sincerity_n and_o safety_n that_o it_o and_o alas_o i_o fear_v i_o have_v be_v all_o this_o while_n but_o a_o paint_a hypocrite_n as_o the_o martyr_n say_v of_o himself_o this_o be_v a_o sore_a trouble_n to_o he_o that_o know_v the_o
