and_o be_v able_a to_o bear_v no_o other_o burden_n if_o any_o body_n across_o you_o when_o you_o come_v home_o wife_n child_n or_o servant_n cross_v you_o you_o can_v bear_v it_o if_o neighbour_n across_o you_o you_o be_v able_a to_o bear_v nothing_o there_o be_v a_o reason_n in_o this_o that_o you_o do_v not_o think_v of_o you_o have_v weaken_v your_o heart_n by_o some_o sin_n or_o other_o and_o break_v your_o peace_n with_o god_n it_o may_v be_v and_o now_o your_o heart_n come_v to_o be_v weak_a you_o be_v like_o a_o sick_a man_n that_o cry_v out_o upon_o any_o thing_n one_o that_o be_v sick_a cry_n out_o upon_o every_o thing_n whereas_o if_o he_o be_v strong_a &_o healthful_a he_o can_v bear_v a_o hundred_o time_n more_o so_o you_o have_v bring_v a_o sickness_n upon_o your_o soul_n there_o be_v some_o sin_n that_o have_v prevail_v with_o the_o you_o prevail_v over_o you_o and_o by_o that_o have_v weaken_v your_o heart_n and_o your_o spirit_n now_o be_v weak_a you_o can_v bear_v nothing_o every_o thing_n be_v a_o grievous_a burden_n to_o you_o so_o that_o the_o prevail_a of_o corruption_n come_v to_o be_v burdensome_a in_o this_o respect_n because_o it_o weaken_v the_o heart_n and_o make_v every_o thing_n burdensome_a to_o they_o two_o second_o the_o saint_n and_o people_n of_o god_n they_o account_v the_o privilege_n of_o corruption_n to_o be_v the_o great_a burden_n in_o this_o respect_n because_o they_o know_v that_o now_o they_o dishonour_v god_n especial_o if_o it_o prevail_v so_o as_o to_o break_v forth_o outward_o that_o it_o come_v to_o a_o be_v there_o be_v some_o sin_n that_o you_o live_v in_o that_o have_v prevail_v over_o you_o and_o therefore_o no_o marvel_n you_o do_v not_o profit_v as_o you_o desire_v vi_o six_o the_o prevail_a burdensome_a to_o those_o that_o do_v know_v what_o peace_n with_o god_n do_v mean_v vii_o seven_o the_o prevail_a of_o corruption_n be_v a_o grievous_a burden_n because_o it_o be_v that_o many_o time_n that_o shake_v the_o assurance_n of_o those_o that_o be_v godly_a i_o know_v not_o what_o those_o man_n will_v make_v of_o the_o lord_n prayer_n forgive_v we_o our_o sin_n if_o so_o be_v that_o many_o hard_a thought_n of_o god_n and_o of_o his_o way_n and_o they_o may_v find_v that_o they_o have_v so_o many_o time_n when_o their_o heart_n be_v pinch_v with_o this_o burden_n they_o have_v many_o hard_a thought_n of_o god_n and_o hard_a thought_n of_o his_o law_n and_o hard_a thought_n of_o his_o way_n this_o be_v very_o grievous_a when_o the_o soul_n come_v to_o find_v the_o commandment_n of_o god_n to_o be_v grievous_a and_o so_o to_o murmur_v and_o repine_v against_o god_n as_o many_o do_v that_o be_v in_o trouble_n of_o conscience_n they_o go_v on_o in_o duty_n but_o because_o they_o get_v no_o peace_n nor_o comfort_n nor_o mastery_n over_o their_o corruption_n they_o begin_v to_o repine_v and_o murmur_v at_o god_n say_v they_o i_o have_v do_v thus_o and_o thus_o and_o i_o have_v perform_v duty_n and_o nothing_o come_v of_o they_o and_o there_o upon_o they_o begin_v to_o leave_v and_o hate_v they_o the_o three_o misery_n three_o there_o be_v this_o evil_a also_o in_o the_o burden_n of_o legal_a performance_n that_o it_o cause_v a_o sink_a discouragement_n their_o heart_n do_v sink_v in_o exceed_a discouragement_n after_o a_o while_o they_o go_v on_o in_o performance_n of_o duty_n and_o find_v nothing_o come_v of_o it_o and_o they_o sink_v under_o it_o in_o discouragement_n they_o think_v it_o be_v in_o vain_a to_o go_v any_o further_a and_o they_o be_v desirous_a to_o cast_v it_o off_o whole_o and_o think_v it_o be_v the_o only_a way_n for_o their_o ease_n and_o rest_n hence_o follow_v that_o therefore_o there_o be_v a_o way_n open_a to_o temptation_n for_o the_o devil_n to_o come_v and_o tempt_v they_o either_o to_o looseness_n or_o to_o despair_v it_o be_v many_o time_n the_o end_n of_o such_o poor_a creature_n except_o god_n be_v please_v to_o come_v in_o and_o reveal_v christ_n unto_o they_o one_o of_o these_o two_o be_v the_o conclusion_n either_o they_o cast_v off_o the_o duty_n that_o before_o they_o make_v conscience_n of_o and_o so_o grow_v to_o be_v loose_a and_o profane_a or_o otherwise_o if_o conscience_n pursue_v they_o more_o and_o more_o they_o grow_v to_o despair_v and_o sometime_o upon_o their_o sick_a bed_n and_o death_n bed_n come_v into_o a_o rave_a and_o rage_a distemper_n as_o by_o experience_n we_o find_v that_o many_o after_o they_o have_v be_v a_o long_a time_n under_o a_o trouble_a conscience_n and_o go_v on_o in_o a_o legal_a way_n they_o have_v grow_v very_o profane_a there_o be_v a_o time_n that_o they_o dare_v not_o neglect_v duty_n in_o their_o family_n and_o closet_n but_o they_o come_v afterward_o to_o think_v that_o this_o be_v but_o legal_a and_o now_o they_o cast_v they_o off_o and_o give_v themselves_o to_o looseness_n and_o then_o they_o have_v nothing_o to_o plead_v for_o themselves_o but_o this_o that_o they_o be_v under_o legal_a performance_n and_o they_o leave_v they_o off_o and_o thus_o they_o go_v this_o way_n to_o rest_n but_o oh_o woeful_a this_o be_v to_o go_v to_o the_o devil_n for_o rest_n if_o you_o have_v come_v to_o christ_n you_o may_v have_v have_v rest_n but_o these_o give_v up_o their_o soul_n to_o the_o devil_n rest_v and_o grow_v to_o looseness_n and_o be_v notorious_o scandalous_a in_o in_o their_o life_n i_o suppose_v if_o you_o will_v observe_v it_o you_o need_v not_o go_v far_o to_o find_v example_n in_o this_o kind_n but_o other_o that_o can_v get_v the_o mastery_n of_o their_o conscience_n they_o grow_v to_o despair_v when_o they_o come_v upon_o their_o sick_a bed_n their_o heart_n be_v overwhelm_v with_o despair_n and_o so_o they_o die_v now_o oh_o what_o pity_v it_o be_v to_o loose_v such_o soul_n as_o have_v go_v thus_o far_o in_o the_o way_n of_o religion_n as_o thus_o first_o they_o do_v the_o same_o thing_n that_o god_n people_n do_v for_o the_o outward_a act_n they_o do_v the_o same_o thing_n the_o saint_n do_v second_o they_o be_v very_o conscientious_a of_o what_o they_o do_v make_v conscience_n of_o their_o very_a thought_n and_o of_o their_o secret_a way_n nay_o three_o they_o know_v they_o have_v to_o do_v with_o god_n in_o every_o thing_n they_o have_v their_o heart_n so_o wrought_v upon_o that_o they_o set_v themselves_o in_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n always_o nay_o four_o they_o have_v the_o fear_n of_o god_n the_o fear_n of_o eternity_n upon_o their_o heart_n continual_o and_o yet_o perish_v at_o last_o and_o all_o for_o the_o want_n of_o knowledge_n of_o the_o gospel_n it_o be_v true_a these_o man_n say_v right_a that_o if_o their_o be_v any_o such_o who_o do_v put_v they_o upon_o duty_n and_o not_o open_a to_o they_o the_o rest_n that_o be_v in_o the_o gospel_n and_o in_o christ_n if_o they_o do_v so_o they_o be_v right_o blame_v to_o those_o that_o they_o converse_v withal_o but_o they_o that_o perform_v duty_n mere_o in_o a_o legal_a way_n they_o go_v on_o so_o pensive_o sad_o and_o dull_o that_o there_o be_v no_o beauty_n at_o all_o in_o their_o conversation_n and_o they_o make_v other_o afraid_a of_o those_o way_n that_o be_v so_o tedious_a and_o irksome_a to_o they_o the_o five_o misery_n five_o there_o be_v this_o evil_n in_o the_o burden_n of_o legal_a performance_n that_o those_o that_o perform_v duty_n mere_o in_o a_o legal_a manner_n they_o do_v not_o keep_v any_o proportion_n in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n

in_o that_o that_o be_v so_o much_o against_o the_o pride_n of_o man_n heart_n to_o live_v eternal_o upon_o mere_a free_a grace_n and_o nothing_o else_o for_o there_o be_v nothing_o that_o man_n do_v more_o desire_n then_o to_o have_v somewhat_o some_o stock_n of_o himself_o to_o live_v upon_o and_o indeed_o herein_o man_n come_v to_o be_v more_o humble_a than_o adam_n in_o innocency_n can_v be_v for_o adam_n have_v a_o stock_n to_o live_v upon_o in_o his_o own_o hand_n to_o live_v upon_o in_o himself_o not_o but_o god_n be_v the_o principle_n of_o it_o but_o then_o god_n give_v it_o he_o to_o live_v upon_o the_o stock_n of_o grace_n he_o have_v in_o his_o own_o hand_n but_o now_o in_o the_o second_o adam_n the_o way_n of_o god_n towards_o we_o be_v otherwise_o the_o second_o adam_n keep_v the_o stock_n of_o life_n and_o grace_n upon_o which_o our_o soul_n must_v live_v eternal_o in_o his_o own_o hand_n i_o say_v they_o be_v in_o christ_n hand_n not_o in_o ourselves_o and_o therefore_o our_o life_n be_v a_o better_a and_o safe_a life_n then_o that_o be_v and_o thereby_o we_o can_v fall_v from_o god_n because_o we_o live_v by_o the_o principle_n of_o life_n that_o be_v in_o he_o it_o be_v a_o great_a mystery_n and_o almost_o impossible_a to_o unfold_v only_o some_o glimmer_n we_o have_v in_o the_o word_n that_o this_o be_v so_o 7._o if_o there_o be_v nothing_o require_v but_o to_o come_v than_o another_o consequence_n will_v follow_v from_o hence_o and_o that_o be_v this_o hence_o then_o believer_n that_o come_v to_o christ_n may_v learn_v this_o lesson_n to_o be_v willing_a to_o do_v and_o to_o suffer_v very_o much_o for_o christ_n after_o they_o come_v because_o there_o be_v nothing_o require_v of_o they_o to_o the_o pardon_n of_o their_o sin_n but_o only_o to_o come_v i_o strengthen_v the_o inference_n thus_o if_o god_n have_v say_v thus_o indeed_o i_o have_v send_v a_o mediator_n to_o pacify_v my_o wrath_n and_o to_o pardon_v your_o sin_n and_o before_o you_o come_v to_o rest_n i_o require_v that_o you_o shall_v suffer_v so_o many_o hundred_o year_n of_o torment_n in_o fire_n and_o that_o shall_v be_v a_o preparation_n to_o come_v and_o then_o after_o you_o have_v suffer_v so_o much_o than_o you_o shall_v come_v and_o have_v rest_n suppose_v this_o have_v be_v the_o condition_n of_o the_o covenant_n now_o have_v it_o be_v so_o we_o have_v all_o have_v cause_n to_o have_v fall_v upon_o our_o face_n and_o have_v blessed_v his_o great_a name_n that_o we_o can_v have_v peace_n on_o any_o term_n and_o we_o shall_v have_v be_v not_o only_o willing_a to_o accept_v of_o these_o term_n but_o to_o magnify_v god_n grace_n that_o we_o can_v be_v thus_o save_v at_o last_o but_o the_o lord_n have_v not_o require_v that_o first_o we_o shall_v suffer_v such_o and_o such_o hard_a thing_n and_o then_o come_v to_o christ_n but_o he_o call_v upon_o we_o first_o to_o come_v and_o require_v nothing_o before_o and_o therefore_o before_o we_o be_v of_o they_o than_o what_o they_o have_v before_o god_n do_v not_o call_v upon_o you_o to_o suffer_v first_o and_o then_o he_o will_v pardon_v your_o sin_n no_o but_o say_v god_n i_o will_v bestow_v so_o now_o when_o thou_o be_v a_o believer_n and_o have_v lose_v the_o assurance_n of_o christ_n love_n and_o the_o comfort_n of_o rest_n in_o christ_n now_o thou_o must_v go_v and_o take_v the_o same_o way_n again_o christ_n call_v those_o that_o be_v believer_n to_o come_v to_o he_o those_o that_o have_v lose_v the_o assurance_n of_o faith_n that_o be_v the_o way_n for_o rest_n to_o renew_v the_o act_n of_o thy_o come_n to_o christ_n just_a as_o thou_o do_v before_o though_o god_n do_v humble_v thou_o yet_o the_o thing_n that_o do_v bring_v thou_o rest_n be_v the_o come_n to_o jesus_n christ_n so_o much_o more_o shall_v thou_o do_v now_o be_v a_o believer_n when_o thou_o have_v not_o the_o rest_n in_o christ_n thou_o desire_v thy_o way_n be_v to_o renew_v thy_o act_n of_o come_v of_o go_v to_o christ_n and_o so_o you_o may_v soon_o come_v to_o have_v rest_v that_o way_n than_o by_o think_v thus_o i_o know_v not_o whether_o my_o evidence_n be_v right_a or_o no_o and_o i_o have_v need_n look_v to_o they_o and_o therefore_o i_o have_v need_v to_o look_v whether_o my_o humiliation_n be_v right_a and_o my_o sanctification_n be_v right_a or_o no._n i_o say_v the_o renew_v the_o act_n of_o thy_o faith_n in_o come_v to_o christ_n will_v bring_v rest_n soon_o and_o safe_a rest_n and_o therefore_o thou_o shall_v come_v to_o see_v thy_o sanctification_n better_o too_o by_o thou_o can_v not_o stir_v and_o work_v after_o he_o yet_o set_v thy_o soul_n in_o sight_n of_o christ_n and_o look_v towards_o he_o and_o wait_v till_o god_n time_n come_v when_o he_o will_v let_v some_o influence_n into_o thy_o heart_n this_o will_v be_v a_o mighty_a help_n this_o way_n and_o take_v heed_n of_o listen_v to_o any_o temptation_n that_o may_v draw_v away_o thy_o heart_n from_o argument_n and_o seasonable_a can_v there_o be_v at_o this_o time_n this_o time_n we_o know_v be_v a_o time_n of_o trouble_n a_o time_n of_o disturbance_n there_o be_v much_o perplexity_n and_o distress_n in_o our_o nation_n and_o what_o will_v be_v more_o acceptable_a unto_o we_o than_o this_o to_o hear_v of_o rest_n this_o be_v that_o that_o christ_n do_v promise_n to_o all_o they_o that_o come_v to_o he_o that_o believe_v in_o he_o he_o say_v he_o will_v give_v they_o rest_n before_o i_o come_v to_o open_v this_o gracious_a promise_n which_o be_v exceed_o full_a of_o marrow_n and_o fatness_n as_o we_o shall_v find_v when_o we_o come_v to_o the_o open_n of_o it_o i_o shall_v first_o give_v you_o one_o note_n brief_o from_o the_o connexion_n of_o these_o word_n with_o the_o former_a come_v to_o i_o you_o that_o labour_n and_o i_o will_v give_v you_o rest_v you_o see_v christ_n that_o he_o may_v draw_v sinner_n to_o himself_o make_v a_o gracious_a promise_n of_o that_o that_o he_o know_v will_v do_v good_a to_o sinner_n at_o the_o heart_n he_o will_v give_v they_o rest_n from_o hence_o the_o note_n be_v this_o in_o the_o general_a that_o god_n will_v have_v we_o even_o when_o we_o be_v come_v to_o christ_n have_v some_o respect_n to_o ourselves_o and_o christ_n encourage_v we_o in_o come_v to_o he_o even_o to_o have_v some_o aim_n at_o our_o own_o good_a that_o be_v the_o note_n clear_o from_o the_o connexion_n of_o the_o word_n before_o we_o open_v the_o promise_n i_o will_v give_v you_o rest_v say_v he_o if_o you_o come_v to_o i_o in_o that_o christ_n do_v propound_v that_o which_o he_o know_v will_v take_v the_o heart_n of_o sinner_n as_o a_o great_a good_a unto_o they_o to_o draw_v they_o to_o himself_o hence_o i_o say_v the_o note_n it_o clear_v that_o in_o our_o come_n to_o jesus_n christ_n it_o be_v lawful_a for_o we_o to_o have_v some_o aim_n at_o our_o own_o good_a yea_o not_o only_o lawful_a for_o we_o but_o we_o ought_v so_o to_o do_v for_o we_o be_v to_o look_v upon_o christ_n so_o as_o christ_n propound_v himself_o unto_o we_o not_o only_o lawful_a i_o say_v to_o look_v upon_o christ_n so_o as_o he_o propound_v himself_o to_o we_o but_o it_o be_v our_o duty_n so_o to_o look_v upon_o he_o now_o when_o christ_n propound_v himself_o unto_o we_o as_o a_o object_n to_o draw_v our_o heart_n to_o he_o he_o do_v propound_v himself_o as_o one_o wherein_o our_o soul_n shall_v gain_v abundance_n of_o good_a one_o that_o we_o shall_v get_v much_o by_o now_o though_o it_o be_v true_a we_o shall_v labour_n to_o this_o act_n though_o thou_o be_v not_o able_a explicit_o to_o conceive_v how_o thou_o look_v at_o god_n above_o thyself_o yet_o god_n see_v it_o there_o be_v that_o work_n of_o god_n in_o thy_o heart_n to_o raise_v god_n there_o above_o thyself_o and_o therefore_o those_o poor_a sinner_n that_o be_v much_o afflict_v under_o the_o burden_n of_o their_o sin_n let_v they_o but_o labour_n and_o eye_n god_n so_o as_o to_o look_v at_o christ_n as_o one_o that_o be_v a_o mediator_n between_o god_n and_o they_o to_o bring_v god_n and_o their_o soul_n together_o to_o aim_v at_o this_o and_o they_o need_v not_o trouble_v themselves_o with_o answer_v any_o further_a that_o temptation_n o_o i_o come_v to_o christ_n but_o it_o be_v only_o that_o i_o may_v be_v save_v i_o do_v not_o know_v that_o in_o all_o the_o book_n of_o god_n to_o give_v you_o this_o one_o note_n about_o it_o and_o then_o we_o pass_v from_o this_o point_n that_o we_o find_v this_o as_o a_o note_n of_o a_o hypocrite_n that_o he_o do_v love_v his_o own_o salvation_n too_o much_o we_o never_o find_v it_o as_o a_o note_n of_o a_o hypocrite_n that_o he_o do_v come_v to_o christ_n that_o he_o may_v be_v save_v and_o see_v the_o word_n of_o god_n do_v not_o set_v it_o out_o as_o the_o note_n of_o a_o hypocrite_n let_v not_o we_o nourish_v this_o temptation_n in_o our_o own_o heart_n so_o as_o to_o hinder_v we_o from_o come_v to_o christ_n thy_o heart_n will_v have_v rest_n in_o come_v to_o christ_n therefore_o come_v to_o he_o that_o thou_o may_v have_v rest_n and_o thus_o much_o for_o this_o note_n from_o the_o connexion_n of_o the_o promise_n come_v to_o christ_n for_o rest_n chap._n xxiv_o of_o the_o rest_n promise_v by_o christ_n in_o general_a and_o that_o there_o be_v no_o rest_n and_o the_o right_a understanding_n of_o this_o will_v help_v we_o exceed_v much_o in_o the_o understanding_n of_o many_o truth_n in_o religion_n wherefore_o first_o i_o shall_v show_v you_o how_o far_o christ_n have_v not_o deliver_v we_o from_o the_o law_n that_o be_v where_o it_o be_v where_o it_o be_v
thou_o but_o know_v this_o that_o it_o be_v the_o privilege_n of_o a_o believer_n it_o be_v not_o the_o privilege_n of_o every_o one_o there_o be_v a_o generation_n of_o man_n that_o be_v under_o the_o law_n who_o desire_n shall_v not_o be_v accept_v as_o i_o show_v in_o open_v of_o the_o burden_n of_o the_o law_n but_o the_o man_n that_o do_v these_o thing_n shall_v live_v by_o they_o so_o run_v the_o tenure_n of_o the_o law_n but_o here_o be_v ease_n for_o thy_o soul_n if_o thou_o do_v understand_v how_o the_o law_n run_v thy_o heart_n can_v but_o sink_v within_o thou_o but_o this_o be_v that_o that_o give_v ease_n to_o the_o soul_n i_o be_o now_o come_v under_o another_o condition_n i_o be_v in_o christ_n christ_n give_v rest_n and_o ease_n unto_o the_o soul_n of_o those_o that_o come_v to_o he_o that_o their_o desire_n and_o endeavour_n shall_v he_o accept_v of_o god_n as_o performance_n now_o this_o be_v a_o bless_a estate_n five_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o soul_n in_o christ_n as_o it_o have_v reference_n to_o deliverance_n from_o the_o burden_n of_o the_o law_n consist_v in_o this_o that_o now_o all_o the_o duty_n that_o god_n require_v at_o thy_o hand_n be_v require_v in_o a_o sweet_a and_o a_o gentle_a way_n the_o service_n that_o god_n require_v be_v require_v of_o thou_o in_o a_o gentle_a and_o a_o love_a way_n god_n indeed_o come_v and_o require_v the_o same_o thing_n that_o the_o law_n require_v of_o thou_o i_o but_o he_o come_v to_o draw_v thy_o soul_n with_o the_o cord_n of_o love_n we_o beseech_v you_o say_v the_o apostle_n by_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n rom._n 12.1_o that_o you_o give_v up_o yourselves_o a_o live_a sacrifice_n holy_a and_o acceptable_a unto_o god_n which_o be_v your_o reasonable_a service_n we_o beseech_v you_o by_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n now_o the_o bondslave_n that_o be_v under_o the_o law_n they_o have_v not_o duty_n require_v of_o they_o by_o such_o cord_n and_o bond_n of_o love_n but_o if_o thou_o do_v these_o thing_n thou_o shall_v live_v if_o not_o thou_o shall_v die_v do_v and_o live_v sin_n and_o die_v so_o the_o law_n require_v duty_n at_o your_o hand_n that_o be_v under_o the_o bondage_n of_o the_o law_n but_o now_o believer_n in_o christ_n their_o duty_n be_v require_v by_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n we_o as_o ambassador_n beseech_v say_v the_o apostle_n and_o if_o there_o be_v any_o love_n any_o consolation_n such_o kind_n of_o argument_n be_v use_v to_o they_o and_o be_v it_o that_o we_o preach_v only_o to_o believer_n these_o kind_n of_o argument_n be_v only_o necessary_a and_o it_o become_v those_o that_o be_v draw_v by_o the_o gospel_n to_o be_v draw_v by_o such_o argument_n and_o it_o be_v a_o good_a argument_n that_o your_o soul_n be_v draw_v by_o the_o power_n of_o but_o now_o when_o you_o find_v that_o god_n draw_v your_o soul_n this_o way_n it_o be_v a_o argument_n that_o you_o come_v to_o have_v rest_n in_o christ_n we_o read_v in_o the_o history_n of_o the_o ceremonial_a law_n a_o type_n of_o these_o thing_n that_o i_o be_o now_o speak_v of_o that_o the_o book_n of_o the_o law_n be_v lay_v under_o the_o mercy_n seat_n you_o shall_v find_v in_o the_o story_n that_o the_o book_n of_o the_o law_n be_v lay_v under_o the_o mercy_n seat_n between_o the_o cherubin_n under_o the_o mercy_n seat_n there_o the_o book_n of_o the_o law_n be_v lay_v that_o be_v the_o place_n that_o god_n appoint_v for_o it_o to_o show_v that_o even_o thus_o do_v the_o law_n of_o god_n come_v now_o upon_o the_o heart_n of_o believer_n it_o come_v upon_o they_o as_o it_o heart_n this_o be_v only_o peculiar_a to_o a_o christian_a and_o it_o be_v from_o the_o application_n of_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n the_o application_n of_o a_o christ_n die_v of_o a_o christ_n crucify_a of_o a_o christ_n shed_v his_o blood_n for_o sin_n this_o have_v a_o virtue_n to_o mortify_v sin_n there_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o difference_n between_o a_o mortify_a lust_n and_o a_o restrain_a lust_n a_o mortify_a sin_n and_o a_o restrain_a sin_n the_o difference_n lie_v in_o this_o one_o thing_n for_o i_o must_v not_o go_v out_o to_o handle_v the_o point_n but_o only_o this_o heart_n and_o the_o sin_n only_o they_o dare_v not_o commit_v it_o but_o when_o sin_n be_v mortify_v the_o heart_n be_v so_o change_v that_o there_o be_v a_o unsuitableness_n wrought_v between_o the_o heart_n and_o corruption_n now_o and_o this_o mortification_n of_o the_o body_n of_o sin_n be_v by_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n four_o christ_n be_v our_o sanctification_n and_o he_o only_o because_o it_o be_v by_o he_o that_o the_o spiritual_a curse_n that_o be_v upon_o every_o man_n heart_n natural_o be_v take_v away_o it_o be_v christ_n only_o that_o do_v deliver_v the_o soul_n from_o the_o be_v a_o spiritual_a curse_n that_o be_v upon_o the_o soul_n of_o man_n by_o the_o fall_n of_o adam_n and_o that_o be_v god_n give_v they_o up_o unto_o themselves_o unto_o the_o lust_n of_o their_o own_o heart_n unto_o their_o own_o counsel_n and_o way_n now_o i_o confess_v as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o curse_n of_o outward_a affliction_n in_o this_o world_n it_o be_v in_o some_o degree_n upon_o some_o and_o in_o a_o further_a degree_n upon_o other_o but_o all_o be_v under_o it_o natural_o so_o this_o spiritual_a death_n be_v execute_v in_o some_o degree_n upon_o some_o and_o in_o more_o degree_n upon_o other_o but_o every_o soul_n be_v in_o some_o measure_n in_o some_o degree_n or_o other_o give_v up_o to_o the_o lust_n of_o its_o own_o heart_n there_o be_v a_o final_a degree_n of_o give_v the_o soul_n up_o to_o the_o lust_n of_o its_o own_o heart_n sometime_o but_o there_o be_v in_o every_o one_o a_o measure_n a_o degree_n of_o this_o and_o the_o reason_n of_o the_o prevail_a of_o the_o corruption_n of_o man_n heart_n may_v appear_v in_o some_o measure_n by_o this_o it_o be_v strange_a to_o see_v that_o notwithstanding_o all_o the_o conviction_n of_o conscience_n &_o tell_v man_n of_o the_o dangerousness_n of_o their_o way_n that_o it_o will_v never_o be_v peace_n in_o the_o end_n that_o they_o will_v rue_v it_o at_o the_o last_o and_o their_o conscience_n give_v they_o many_o a_o secret_a nip_n yet_o they_o go_v on_o still_o notwithstanding_o the_o terror_n in_o the_o law_n many_o time_n nay_o notwithstanding_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n have_v be_v strong_a upon_o they_o and_o they_o have_v cry_v out_o against_o their_o sin_n and_o promise_v against_o they_o and_o notwithstanding_o that_o they_o find_v that_o their_o sin_n do_v destroy_v the_o very_a health_n of_o their_o body_n waste_v their_o estate_n take_v away_o their_o good_a name_n and_o thereby_o loose_a all_o their_o friend_n yet_o they_o be_v not_o able_a to_o overcome_v it_o as_o the_o lust_n of_o their_o own_o heart_n and_o this_o i_o take_v in_o some_o part_n to_o be_v the_o meaning_n of_o that_o place_n in_o 1._o cor._n 15.56_o verse_n the_o strength_n of_o sin_n be_v the_o law_n to_o have_v so_o much_o sin_n convey_v to_o we_o by_o adam_n by_o propagation_n but_o thus_o as_o we_o may_v read_v in_o rom._n 5._o by_o one_o man_n sin_n come_v into_o the_o world_n now_o adam_n he_o be_v the_o head_n of_o the_o first_o covenant_n and_o by_o be_v the_o head_n of_o that_o all_o mankind_n be_v look_v upon_o as_o member_n of_o the_o first_o adam_n he_o be_v the_o head_n in_o by_o virtue_n of_o our_o mystical_a union_n with_o christ_n our_o head_n there_o be_v convey_v holiness_n and_o grace_n to_o strengthen_v we_o against_o our_o corruption_n as_o the_o ointment_n do_v and_o look_v to_o that_o for_o that_o will_v be_v a_o thorn_n in_o the_o flesh_n that_o will_v trouble_v you_o if_o there_o be_v any_o secret_a sin_n thou_o live_v in_o it_o will_v be_v as_o a_o
