by_o faith_n in_o christ_n and_o outward_o also_o by_o his_o work_n yet_o so_o that_o there_o be_v place_n among_o man_n for_o mutual_a pardon_v of_o offence_n therefore_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christian_n do_v much_o more_o consist_v in_o forgive_v then_o in_o their_o own_o work_n those_o vain_a prater_n do_v pervert_v the_o order_n of_o this_o doctrine_n and_o without_o preach_v of_o soever_o they_o teach_v it_o be_v a_o conceit_n of_o their_o own_o imagination_n and_o like_a to_o delusion_n not_o unlike_a also_o to_o those_o thing_n that_o be_v see_v through_o a_o lattice_n or_o glass_n which_o resemble_v the_o colour_n of_o the_o clear_a glass_n and_o yet_o in_o deed_n be_v not_o of_o that_o colour_n they_o think_v that_o god_n will_v regard_v they_o when_o they_o live_v so_o before_o man_n as_o it_o seem_v good_a to_o their_o obscure_a opinion_n but_o if_o god_n be_v of_o that_o opinion_n he_o may_v then_o have_v well_o keep_v still_o christ_n and_o the_o gospel_n for_o what_o need_n or_o necessity_n shall_v move_v he_o to_o send_v christ_n from_o heaven_n who_o shall_v purchase_v that_o unto_o we_o with_o his_o precious_a blood_n which_o we_o ourselves_o have_v before_o with_o we_o he_o sure_o shall_v be_v the_o foolish_a of_o all_o man_n which_o will_v pour_v forth_o a_o precious_a treasure_n which_o no_o man_n need_v thus_o thou_o see_v how_o these_o man_n teach_v their_o own_o dream_n whereof_o they_o themselves_o know_v or_o have_v try_v no_o certainty_n neither_o do_v any_o thing_n else_o but_o fill_v man_n with_o error_n be_v not_o servile_a and_o unwilling_a mind_n whereby_o they_o may_v easy_o see_v what_o be_v the_o root_n of_o this_o evil_a and_o what_o be_v especial_o needful_a unto_o salvation_n to_o wit_v a_o new_a and_o a_o willing_a spirit_n to_o that_o which_o be_v good_a which_o sure_o neither_o the_o law_n nor_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n be_v able_a to_o give_v yea_o the_o long_a and_o the_o more_o that_o they_o apply_v themselves_o unto_o they_o so_o much_o more_o unwilling_a shall_v they_o find_v themselves_o and_o with_o so_o much_o more_o grief_n to_o work_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a hereupon_o now_o they_o learn_v that_o they_o do_v not_o satisfy_v the_o law_n although_o outward_o they_o live_v according_a to_o the_o prescript_n rule_v thereof_o for_o as_o they_o do_v pretend_v to_o obey_v it_o in_o work_n so_o in_o mind_n they_o do_v hate_v it_o wherefore_o in_o mind_n also_o they_o remain_v sinner_n although_o they_o pretend_v themselves_o righteous_a by_o work_n that_o be_v they_o be_v like_a unto_o those_o of_o cain_n brood_n and_o to_o hypocrite_n who_o hand_n in_o deed_n be_v compel_v to_o good_a but_o they_o have_v a_o hart_n which_o as_o it_o be_v a_o enemy_n to_o the_o law_n so_o do_v it_o very_o consent_v unto_o sin_n and_o be_v miserable_o subject_a unto_o they_o to_o know_v this_o concern_v themselves_o be_v not_o the_o low_a degree_n to_o salvation_n hereof_o also_o we_o may_v see_v how_o fit_o paul_n call_v such_o constrain_a work_n the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n law_n the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n for_o they_o flow_v not_o from_o a_o ready_a and_o willing_a hart_n but_o be_v enforce_v by_o the_o law_n the_o heart_n decline_v a_o other_o way_n howbeit_o the_o law_n do_v not_o require_v work_n alone_o but_o much_o rather_o the_o heart_n itself_o so_o that_o we_o may_v say_v not_o only_o the_o work_n but_o rather_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o law_n not_o only_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o law_n but_o rather_o the_o mind_n will_n and_o all_o the_o strength_n of_o the_o law_n whereupon_o it_o be_v say_v in_o the_o first_o psalm_n of_o the_o bless_a man_n but_o his_o delight_n be_v in_o the_o law_n of_o god_n and_o in_o his_o law_n do_v he_o exercise_v himself_o day_n and_o night_n such_o a_o mind_n the_o law_n require_v in_o deed_n but_o it_o give_v it_o not_o neither_o can_v it_o give_v it_o of_o it_o own_o nature_n whereby_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o while_n the_o law_n continue_v to_o exact_v it_o of_o a_o man_n and_o to_o condemn_v he_o as_o long_o as_o he_o have_v not_o such_o a_o mind_n as_o disobedient_a to_o god_n he_o be_v in_o anguish_n on_o every_o side_n his_o conscience_n be_v grievous_o terrify_v and_o without_o all_o counsel_n and_o help_v then_o in_o deed_n he_o be_v most_o ready_o for_o grace_n and_o this_o be_v that_o time_n appoint_v of_o the_o father_n father_n the_o time_n appoint_v of_o the_o father_n when_o his_o servitude_n shall_v end_v and_o he_o shall_v enter_v into_o the_o state_n of_o the_o son_n for_o be_v thus_o in_o distress_n and_o terrify_v see_v that_o by_o no_o other_o mean_n he_o can_v avoid_v the_o condemnation_n of_o the_o law_n he_o turn_v himself_o whole_o to_o pray_v to_o the_o father_n for_o grace_n he_o acknowledge_v his_o frailty_n he_o confess_v his_o sin_n he_o cease_v to_o trust_v in_o work_n and_o do_v altogether_o as_o it_o be_v meet_v humble_v himself_o perceive_v now_o full_a well_o that_o between_o he_o and_o a_o manifest_a sinner_n there_o be_v no_o difference_n at_o all_o but_o of_o work_n that_o he_o have_v a_o wicked_a heart_n even_o as_o every_o other_o sinner_n have_v yea_o it_o may_v be_v that_o such_o hypocrite_n do_v far_o more_o hate_v the_o law_n in_o their_o heart_n than_o those_o famous_a sinner_n which_o be_v even_o as_o it_o be_v drown_v in_o sin_n for_o while_o these_o be_v even_o weary_v with_o the_o work_n of_o sin_n and_o do_v try_v the_o filthiness_n of_o they_o it_o often_o time_n come_v to_o pass_v that_o they_o do_v in_o some_o part_n loath_a and_o detest_v they_o when_o as_o those_o righteous_a one_o do_v always_o think_v those_o thing_n that_o they_o have_v not_o try_v to_o be_v more_o sweet_a neither_o can_v they_o believe_v that_o there_o be_v so_o much_o gall_n in_o sin_n whereof_o they_o be_v by_o nature_n inflame_v with_o such_o a_o desire_n &_o therefore_o as_o they_o do_v more_o earnest_o love_n sin_n so_o consequent_o they_o do_v much_o worse_o hate_v the_o law_n which_o as_o a_o certain_a schoolmaster_n be_v always_o against_o their_o desire_n moreover_o forasmuch_o as_o the_o condition_n of_o man_n nature_n be_v such_o that_o it_o be_v able_a to_o give_v to_o the_o law_n work_v only_o and_o not_o the_o hart_n who_o do_v not_o see_v how_o great_o it_o be_v contemn_v of_o we_o deal_n hypocritical_a deal_n a_o unequal_a division_n true_o to_o dedicate_v the_o hart_n which_o do_v incomparable_o excel_v all_o other_o thing_n to_o sin_n and_o the_o brutish_a hand_n to_o the_o law_n which_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o to_o offer_v chaff_n to_o the_o law_n and_o the_o wheat_n to_o sin_n the_o shell_n to_o god_n and_o the_o kernel_n to_o satan_n so_o that_o come_v to_o pass_v which_o be_v in_o the_o gospel_n that_o the_o wickedness_n of_o he_o which_o be_v in_o thy_o judgement_n a_o desperate_a sinner_n be_v count_v as_o a_o mote_n and_o thou_o which_o so_o play_v the_o hypocrite_n be_v count_v as_o a_o beam_n if_o this_o evil_n be_v add_v hereunto_o that_o such_o hypocrite_n do_v not_o see_v a_o beam_n in_o their_o eye_n but_o be_v blind_v do_v persevere_v in_o their_o accustom_a work_n not_o mark_v this_o their_o inward_a abomination_n of_o the_o hart_n they_o by_o and_o by_o burst_v forth_o to_o judge_v &_o condemn_v other_o they_o despise_v sinner_n as_o he_o do_v in_o the_o gospel_n they_o think_v themselves_o not_o like_a unto_o they_o they_o be_v not_o as_o other_o man_n be_v they_o think_v themselves_o alone_o godly_a and_o righteous_a who_o ungodliness_n if_o one_o reprove_v &_o as_o it_o be_v meet_v bewray_v they_o by_o and_o by_o be_v in_o a_o rage_n and_o fury_n and_o stick_v not_o to_o kill_v innocent_a abel_n and_o to_o persecute_v all_o those_o that_o follow_v the_o truth_n and_o they_o will_v seem_v to_o do_v that_o to_o defend_v good_a work_n and_o to_o obtain_v righteousness_n neither_o do_v they_o promise_v to_o themselves_o a_o small_a reward_n for_o this_o inasmuch_o as_o they_o do_v as_o they_o say_v persecute_v heretic_n blasphemer_n them_z which_o be_v seduce_v &_o do_v seduce_v with_o mischievous_a error_n which_o labour_n to_o seduce_v and_o pluck_v even_o they_o from_o good_a work_n here_o thou_o may_v see_v that_o that_o show_v itself_o whatsoever_o the_o scripture_n attribute_v to_o these_o man_n be_v sure_o most_o pestilent_a spirit_n to_o wit_n that_o they_o be_v a_o generation_n of_o viper_n and_o serpent_n they_o be_v no_o other_o but_o of_o cain_n brood_n and_o so_o they_o do_v look_v for_o we_o here_o he_o will_v receive_v we_o he_o that_o will_v seek_v he_o here_o shall_v find_v he_o that_o will_v ask_v here_o shall_v be_v hear_v here_o be_v the_o throne_n of_o grace_n virgin_n yet_o by_o no_o comparison_n great_a reverence_n be_v due_a unto_o she_o then_o by_o the_o name_n of_o woman_n for_o that_o her_o most_o holy_a member_n inasmuch_o as_o she_o be_v a_o woman_n unto_o which_o benefit_n the_o only_a virginity_n have_v not_o be_v sufficient_a yea_o it_o have_v be_v even_o unprofitable_a the_o four_o thing_n whereof_o the_o present_a place_n of_o the_o work_v nothing_o that_o be_v good_a likewise_o that_o we_o can_v do_v nothing_o that_o god_n will_v approve_v unless_o we_o ourselves_o be_v approve_v of_o he_o before_o and_o see_v that_o the_o law_n require_v the_o heart_n which_o can_v not_o be_v perform_v of_o they_o which_o be_v not_o as_o yet_o regenerate_v by_o the_o spirit_n it_o must_v needs_o be_v that_o all_o the_o son_n of_o adam_n be_v guilty_a of_o transgress_v the_o law_n and_o unless_o whereas_o they_o themselves_o be_v not_o able_a a_o other_o to_o wit_n christ_n shall_v perform_v that_o which_o the_o law_n require_v and_o so_o satisfy_v the_o law_n for_o they_o they_o shall_v altogether_o perish_v by_o the_o curse_n of_o the_o law_n but_o when_o as_o christ_n go_v about_o to_o show_v that_o the_o heart_n be_v require_v of_o the_o law_n do_v condemn_v the_o work_n which_o proceed_v not_o from_o a_o heart_n that_o be_v godly_a and_o consent_v unto_o the_o law_n he_o be_v accuse_v of_o the_o pharisee_n that_o he_o be_v come_v to_o destroy_v the_o law_n because_o therefore_o he_o will_v take_v away_o this_o false_a opinion_n of_o himself_o he_o say_v think_v not_o that_o i_o be_o come_v to_o destroy_v the_o law_n for_o i_o be_o not_o come_v to_o destroy_v but_o to_o fulfil_v the_o law_n yea_o and_o i_o will_v give_v a_o spirit_n unto_o they_o that_o be_v i_o which_o shall_v justify_v their_o heart_n by_o faith_n and_o incline_v it_o unto_o true_a good_a work_n the_o same_o be_v usual_a with_o paul_n also_o who_o rom._n 3_o when_o he_o have_v reject_v the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n and_o extol_v faith_n answer_v such_o a_o objection_n say_v do_v we_o then_o make_v the_o law_n of_o none_o effect_v god_n forbid_v yea_o we_o establish_v the_o law_n for_o we_o teach_v that_o the_o true_a fulfil_n of_o the_o law_n be_v by_o christ_n the_o like_a also_o be_v wont_a to_o be_v object_v to_o we_o as_o though_o we_o do_v forbid_v good_a work_n when_o we_o disallow_v monastery_n with_o their_o work_n &_o teach_v that_o they_o must_v first_o by_o faith_n become_v good_a and_o approve_a of_o god_n whereby_o they_o may_v afterward_o do_v true_a good_a work_n by_o which_o both_o their_o flesh_n may_v be_v chastise_v and_o their_o neighbour_n edify_v here_o we_o must_v note_v moreover_o that_o the_o law_n
can_v be_v fulfil_v of_o no_o man_n but_o of_o he_o which_o be_v free_a from_o the_o law_n be_v no_o more_o under_o it_o we_o must_v accustom_v ourselves_o also_o to_o the_o manner_n of_o paul_n speech_n that_o we_o may_v know_v assure_o who_o be_v under_o the_o law_n law_n who_o be_v under_o the_o law_n and_o who_o be_v not_o under_o the_o law_n as_o many_o therefore_o as_o work_v good_a work_n because_o the_o law_n have_v so_o command_v be_v bring_v thereunto_o either_o with_o fear_n of_o punishment_n or_o hope_v of_o reward_n be_v under_o the_o law_n and_o be_v compel_v to_o do_v good_a thing_n and_o to_o be_v honest_a be_v not_o bring_v hereunto_o of_o their_o own_o voluntary_a will_n wherefore_o the_o law_n have_v dominion_n over_o they_o who_o servant_n and_o captive_n they_o be_v now_o such_o be_v all_o man_n that_o be_v not_o yet_o regenerate_v by_o christ_n which_o every_o one_o may_v easy_o learn_v with_o himself_o by_o experience_n every_o man_n own_o conscience_n show_v it_o unto_o he_o we_o all_o find_v ourselves_o so_o affect_v that_o if_o no_o law_n do_v urge_v we_o &_o both_o the_o fear_n of_o punishment_n and_o hope_v of_o reward_n be_v away_o and_o it_o be_v plain_o free_a for_o we_o to_o do_v what_o we_o listen_v we_o will_v do_v altogether_o those_o thing_n that_o be_v evell_a and_o omit_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a especial_o either_o tentation_n move_v we_o or_o occasion_n provoke_v us._n but_o now_o forasmuch_o as_o the_o law_n stay_v we_o with_o the_o threaten_n and_o promise_n thereof_o we_o do_v oftentimes_o abstain_v from_o evell_a thing_n and_o do_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a howbeit_o we_o do_v they_o not_o for_o the_o love_n of_o goodness_n and_o hatred_n of_o evel_n but_o only_o for_o fear_v of_o punishment_n and_o respect_n of_o reward_n wherefore_o be_v leave_v whole_o to_o ourselves_o we_o be_v servant_n of_o the_o law_n neither_o do_v we_o hear_v it_o any_o otherwise_o than_o servant_n do_v their_o hard_a and_o cruel_a master_n be_v they_z which_o be_v not_o under_o the_o law_n describe_v of_o what_o sort_n they_o be_v but_o they_o that_o be_v not_o under_o the_o law_n that_o be_v be_v not_o so_o against_o their_o will_n in_o subjection_n under_o the_o dominion_n thereof_o they_o of_o their_o own_o accord_n do_v good_a work_n and_o abstain_v from_o evell_a notwithstanding_o they_o will_v desire_v to_o live_v no_o otherwise_o then_o the_o law_n command_v as_o to_o shun_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v evell_a and_o apply_v themselves_o to_o honest_a study_n and_o exercise_n they_o that_o be_v such_o be_v son_n who_o not_o nature_n but_o that_o only_o bless_a seed_n of_o abraham_n that_o be_v christ_n can_v make_v such_o renew_v by_o his_o grace_n and_o spirit_n the_o heart_n of_o they_o that_o believe_v in_o he_o law_n what_o it_o be_v not_o to_o be_v under_o the_o law_n wherefore_o not_o to_o be_v under_o the_o law_n be_v not_o to_o be_v free_a from_o the_o law_n that_o they_o may_v do_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v contrary_a thereunto_o and_o omit_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a but_o it_o be_v to_o do_v good_a thing_n and_o abstain_v from_o wicked_a thing_n not_o through_o compulsion_n or_o necessity_n of_o the_o law_n but_o by_o free_a love_n and_o with_o pleasure_n even_o as_o if_o no_o law_n command_v they_o and_o their_o own_o nature_n bring_v they_o hereunto_o as_o in_o deed_n it_o do_v howbeit_o the_o new_a nature_n of_o the_o spirit_n similitude_n a_o similitude_n not_o that_o old_a nature_n of_o the_o flesh_n for_o as_o there_o be_v need_n of_o no_o law_n for_o the_o body_n which_o may_v compel_v it_o to_o eat_v to_o drink_v to_o digest_v similitude_n a_o similitude_n to_o sleep_v to_o go_v to_o stand_v to_o sit_v all_o respect_n either_o of_o reward_n or_o punishment_n and_o may_v not_o unfit_o be_v say_v as_o concern_v these_o thing_n not_o to_o be_v under_o a_o law_n notwithstanding_o thereupon_o nothing_o less_o follow_v then_o that_o it_o do_v therefore_o abstain_v from_o such_o work_n unto_o which_o in_o deed_n it_o so_o much_o more_o appli_v if_o self_n as_o they_o be_v less_o command_v and_o be_v the_o true_a liberty_n of_o a_o christian_a man_n and_o the_o deliveraunce_n of_o he_o from_o the_o law_n whereof_o paul_n speak_v 1._o tim._n 1_o the_o law_n be_v not_o give_v unto_o a_o righteous_a man_n which_o be_v as_o much_o as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v a_o righteous_a man_n of_o his_o own_o accord_n do_v good_a thing_n and_o abstain_v from_o evell_a have_v no_o regard_n either_o of_o psalm_n speak_v establish_v i_o with_o thy_o free_a spirit_n whereupon_o in_o the_o 118._o psalm_n christian_n people_n be_v say_v to_o be_v of_o a_o free_a will_n moreover_o christ_n have_v so_o fulfil_v the_o law_n that_o he_o only_o of_o all_o mankind_n have_v of_o his_o own_o accord_n satisfy_v it_o be_v with_o no_o thing_n compel_v or_o enforce_v thereunto_o neither_o be_v any_o other_o able_a to_o do_v the_o same_o unless_o he_o receive_v it_o of_o he_o and_o by_o he_o and_o therefore_o paul_n say_v here_o he_o be_v make_v under_o the_o law_n that_o he_o may_v redeem_v they_o christ_n for_o our_o sake_n be_v make_v under_o the_o law_n that_o he_o may_v deliver_v we_o from_o the_o bondage_n of_o the_o law_n and_o of_o unwilling_a servant_n make_v we_o free_a son_n he_o believe_v for_o both_o faith_n and_o this_o spirit_n of_o son_n come_v together_o whereupon_o paul_n say_v here_o that_o christ_n have_v deliver_v
we_o from_o the_o law_n for_o this_o that_o we_o may_v receive_v the_o adoption_n of_o the_o son_n both_o which_o come_v unto_o we_o by_o faith_n thus_o therefore_o we_o have_v those_o five_o thing_n whereof_o paul_n admonish_v we_o in_o this_o so_o plentiful_a and_o fruitful_a a_o place_n question_n a_o question_n but_o here_o rise_v a_o question_n forasmuch_o as_o to_o be_v under_o the_o law_n be_v to_o be_v subject_a to_o the_o law_n by_o compulsion_n and_o to_o obey_v the_o law_n no_o otherwise_o then_o unwilling_o so_o that_o none_o of_o they_o which_o be_v under_o the_o law_n be_v able_a to_o satisfy_v the_o law_n why_o paul_n say_v that_o christ_n be_v make_v under_o the_o law_n answer_n the_o answer_n i_o answer_v that_o the_o apostle_n make_v a_o very_a great_a difference_n between_o christ_n who_o be_v make_v under_o the_o law_n we_o great_a difference_n between_o christ_n be_v under_o the_o law_n &_o we_o and_o other_o man_n which_o be_v bear_v under_o the_o law_n for_o whereas_o he_o say_v that_o christ_n be_v make_v under_o the_o law_n he_o will_v signify_v that_o christ_n do_v put_v himself_o under_o the_o law_n of_o his_o own_o accord_n and_o be_v with_o his_o will_n make_v subject_a unto_o it_o of_o the_o father_n when_o as_o he_o may_v not_o have_v be_v under_o the_o law_n but_o we_o be_v under_o the_o law_n be_v the_o servant_n of_o the_o law_n by_o nature_n and_o bear_v the_o dominion_n thereof_o unwilling_o as_o christ_n be_v willing_o not_o by_o nature_n and_o against_o his_o will_n wherefore_o there_o be_v as_o great_a difference_n between_o nature_n it_o be_v one_o thing_n to_o be_v make_v under_o the_o law_n &_o a_o other_o to_o be_v under_o the_o law_n by_o nature_n to_o be_v make_v under_o the_o law_n and_o to_o be_v under_o the_o law_n by_o nature_n as_o between_o these_o to_o be_v subject_a to_o the_o law_n of_o free_a will_n and_o to_o be_v subject_a to_o the_o law_n by_o servile_a constraint_n it_o be_v free_a unto_o christ_n to_o be_v under_o the_o law_n or_o not_o to_o be_v under_o it_o and_o he_o make_v himself_o subject_a to_o it_o of_o his_o own_o accord_n that_o he_o may_v most_o diligent_o do_v all_o thing_n that_o the_o law_n require_v but_o we_o be_v under_o the_o law_n even_o against_o our_o will_n thou_o may_v see_v a_o resemblance_n hereof_o in_o peter_n resemble_v we_o and_o christ_n be_v under_o the_o law_n and_o our_o deliveraunce_n from_o the_o same_o most_o excellent_o resemble_v and_o the_o angel_n which_o come_v into_o the_o prison_n to_o peter_n to_o deliver_v he_o both_o of_o they_o be_v then_o in_o the_o prison_n but_o peter_n be_v there_o be_v cast_v into_o it_o of_o herode_fw-la not_o of_o his_o own_o accord_n wherein_o he_o be_v also_o to_o abide_v for_o he_o can_v not_o go_v forth_o when_o he_o will_v but_o the_o angel_n go_v into_o the_o prison_n of_o his_o own_o accord_n whereupon_o it_o be_v free_a for_o he_o also_o to_o go_v forth_o when_o he_o will_v he_o be_v there_o only_o for_o peter_n sake_n and_o not_o for_o his_o own_o and_o free_o even_o at_o his_o own_o will_n who_o when_o peter_n hear_v and_o follow_v it_o be_v free_a for_o he_o also_o to_o go_v forth_o of_o the_o prison_n whereas_o before_o it_o be_v not_o this_o prison_n be_v the_o law_n peter_n be_v our_o conscience_n the_o angel_n be_v christ_n christ_n be_v absent_a our_o conscience_n be_v hold_v captive_a of_o the_o law_n and_o be_v unwilling_a of_o itself_o be_v move_v unto_o good_a thing_n by_o the_o threaten_n and_o promise_n thereof_o and_o be_v tie_v and_o bind_v unto_o honest_a thing_n with_o these_o as_o with_o two_o chain_n the_o keeper_n of_o this_o prison_n be_v the_o teacher_n of_o the_o law_n which_o declare_v the_o force_n of_o the_o law_n unto_o us._n so_o we_o be_v bind_v in_o the_o prison_n of_o the_o law_n christ_n come_v unto_o we_o and_o willing_o make_v himself_o subject_a to_o the_o law_n and_o do_v the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n of_o his_o own_o accord_n which_o we_o do_v bend_v ourselves_o to_o do_v against_o our_o will_n yea_o and_o do_v they_o for_o our_o sake_n that_o he_o may_v join_v we_o unto_o he_o and_o also_o bring_v we_o out_o together_o with_o himself_o for_o he_o may_v easy_o go_v forth_o who_o be_v hold_v in_o the_o prison_n by_o no_o necessity_n if_o now_o we_o cleave_v unto_o he_o and_o follow_v he_o we_o also_o do_v go_v forth_o but_o this_o cleave_v to_o he_o and_o follow_v he_o be_v nothing_o else_o then_o to_o believe_v in_o he_o and_o not_o to_o doubt_v that_o he_o become_v man_n and_o be_v make_v subject_a to_o the_o law_n for_o thy_o salvation_n sake_n together_o with_o this_o faith_n come_v the_o spirit_n he_o by_o and_o by_o make_v thou_o ready_a and_o willing_a to_o do_v with_o pleasure_n all_o thing_n that_o the_o law_n require_v and_o so_o true_o deliver_v thou_o from_o the_o captivity_n of_o the_o law_n those_o chain_n of_o threaten_n and_o promise_n fall_v of_o from_o thou_o and_o thou_o may_v now_o go_v whither_o thou_o listen_v that_o be_v thou_o may_v live_v according_a to_o thy_o own_o will_n or_o rather_o according_a to_o the_o will_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n rule_v all_o thing_n in_o thou_o final_o what_o good_a thing_n soever_o thou_o do_v thou_o do_v they_o from_o the_o heart_n and_o with_o great_a pleasure_n sort_n christ_n make_v under_o the_o law_n after_o two_o sort_n moreover_o that_o it_o may_v be_v make_v more_o plain_a after_o what_o sort_n christ_n make_v himself_o subject_a to_o the_o law_n we_o must_v understand_v that_o he_o be_v make_v under_o the_o law_n after_o two_o sort_n both_o for_o that_o he_o do_v perfect_o perform_v the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n and_o also_o for_o that_o he_o suffer_v and_o overcome_v the_o curse_n and_o punishment_n thereof_o for_o our_o sake_n for_o he_o be_v circumcise_v present_v in_o the_o temple_n and_o the_o time_n of_o the_o purification_n be_v finish_v be_v obedient_a to_o his_o parent_n all_o which_o thing_n he_o may_v have_v omit_v be_v lord_n of_o the_o law_n and_o over_o all_o howbeit_o he_o apply_v himself_o to_o these_o thing_n free_o of_o his_o own_o will_n not_o be_v either_o compel_v by_o any_o fear_n or_o allure_v by_o any_o hope_n in_o outward_a work_n he_o be_v in_o the_o mean_a season_n altogether_o like_a unto_o they_o which_o be_v under_o the_o law_n that_o be_v which_o do_v the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n against_o their_o will_n inasmuch_o as_o his_o free_a spirit_n be_v hide_v from_o other_o even_o as_o also_o the_o servile_a and_o constrain_a will_n of_o other_o be_v hide_v and_o so_o he_o both_o be_v under_o the_o law_n and_o not_o under_o the_o law_n he_o behave_v himself_o outward_o in_o work_n as_o they_o which_o be_v unwilling_o hold_v under_o the_o law_n whereas_o notwithstanding_o he_o be_v not_o under_o the_o law_n as_o they_o but_o of_o his_o own_o free_a will_n wherefore_o in_o respect_n of_o his_o work_n he_o be_v under_o the_o law_n but_o in_o respect_n of_o his_o will_n he_o be_v free_a from_o the_o law_n law_n how_o we_o be_v under_o the_o law_n but_o we_o as_o well_o by_o will_n as_o by_o work_n be_v under_o the_o law_n by_o nature_n for_o that_o we_o do_v work_n according_a to_o the_o rule_n of_o the_o law_n of_o necessity_n yea_o and_o we_o do_v they_o with_o that_o will_n which_o the_o law_n constrain_v and_o urge_v in_o asmuch_o as_o we_o do_v not_o endeavour_n to_o do_v they_o of_o our_o own_o accord_n christ_n make_v himself_o subject_a to_o the_o punishment_n of_o the_o law_n also_o for_o our_o sake_n of_o his_o own_o will_n he_o do_v not_o only_o perform_v those_o work_n which_o the_o law_n command_v but_o he_o suffer_v the_o punishment_n also_o which_o be_v due_a to_o we_o be_v transgressor_n thereof_o the_o law_n condemn_v to_o death_n and_o the_o eternal_a curse_n all_o those_o that_o continue_v not_o in_o all_o thing_n that_o be_v write_v in_o the_o book_n of_o the_o law_n to_o do_v they_o as_o paul_n gal._n 3._o recite_v out_o of_o moses_n levit._n 18._o now_o it_o be_v declare_v at_o large_a before_o that_o the_o law_n be_v fulfil_v of_o no_o man_n but_o that_o all_o man_n be_v against_o their_o will_n hold_v captive_n of_o the_o law_n wherefore_o every_o one_o be_v subject_a to_o death_n and_o to_o the_o curse_n so_o that_o there_o be_v no_o man_n subject_n to_o the_o law_n in_o respect_n of_o work_n and_o will_v which_o be_v not_o also_o subject_a to_o it_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o curse_n for_o it_o curse_v and_o condemn_v all_o that_o do_v not_o perform_v it_o with_o their_o whole_a heart_n but_o here_o christ_n make_v intercession_n for_o they_o
that_o be_v he_o and_o the_o judgement_n which_o we_o have_v deserve_v he_o take_v upon_o himself_o he_o suffer_v the_o punishment_n due_a unto_o we_o willing_o make_v himself_o subject_a to_o death_n and_o the_o curse_n that_o be_v to_o eternal_a damnation_n no_o otherwise_o then_o if_o he_o have_v transgress_v the_o whole_a law_n and_o have_v more_o than_o all_o deserve_v the_o sentence_n thereof_o against_o transgressor_n when_o as_o he_o do_v not_o only_o not_o break_v the_o law_n but_o himself_o alone_o fulfil_v it_o yea_o and_o fulfil_v it_o when_o as_o he_o ought_v nothing_o to_o it_o so_o that_o he_o suffer_v otherwise_o then_o he_o deserve_v in_o two_o respect_n both_o for_o that_o he_o have_v aught_o nothing_o to_o the_o law_n if_o he_o have_v not_o observe_v it_o and_o also_o for_o that_o moreover_o he_o most_o diligent_o observe_v it_o so_o that_o if_o the_o law_n have_v have_v especial_a dominion_n over_o he_o yet_o have_v he_o come_v in_o no_o danger_n thereof_o but_o on_o the_o other_o side_n whereas_o we_o suffer_v we_o suffer_v by_o double_a right_n both_o for_o that_o by_o the_o transgression_n of_o the_o law_n we_o have_v deserve_v all_o the_o punishment_n thereof_o &_o also_o for_o that_o if_o we_o have_v deserve_v nothing_o yet_o be_v creature_n we_o ought_v to_o be_v obedient_a to_o the_o will_n of_o our_o creator_n hereof_o it_o now_o treasure_n whereby_o thou_o enjoy_v christ_n and_o all_o his_o work_n that_o thou_o may_v trust_v unto_o they_o not_o otherwise_o then_o if_o thou_o thyself_o have_v do_v they_o for_o christ_n do_v they_o not_o for_o himself_o who_o sure_o they_o can_v profit_v nothing_o he_o have_v no_o need_n of_o any_o thing_n but_o by_o they_o he_o lay_v up_o the_o treasure_n of_o salvation_n for_o we_o send_v or_o command_v this_o in_o deed_n be_v the_o true_a deliveraunce_n from_o the_o law_n and_o the_o damnation_n of_o the_o law_n that_o be_v from_o sin_n and_o death_n which_o deliveraunce_n come_v to_o we_o by_o christ_n yet_o not_o so_o that_o there_o be_v now_o no_o law_n or_o death_n but_o that_o they_o do_v not_o now_o trouble_v the_o believer_n any_o thing_n that_o be_v they_o be_v as_o though_o they_o be_v not_o for_o the_o law_n can_v not_o convince_v they_o of_o sin_n neither_o can_v death_n confound_v they_o but_o by_o faith_n they_o most_o happy_o pass_v from_o sin_n and_o death_n to_o righteousness_n and_o life_n here_o munke_n nun_n &c_n &c_n be_v to_o be_v exhort_v if_o there_o be_v as_o yet_o leave_v any_o place_n with_o they_o for_o counsel_n and_o admonition_n that_o they_o will_v observe_v their_o ordinance_n observe_v how_o man_n ordinance_n ceremony_n etc._n etc._n be_v to_o be_v observe_v ceremony_n prayer_n apparel_n and_o such_o like_a as_o christ_n and_o commit_v the_o rule_n of_o their_o heart_n unto_o he_o acknowledgeing_n that_o by_o that_o faith_n only_o they_o do_v obtain_v righteousness_n and_o salvation_n and_o that_o all_o their_o ordinance_n &_o work_n do_v avail_v nothing_o hereunto_o again_o that_o they_o will_v make_v themselves_o subject_a to_o they_o of_o their_o own_o accord_n in_o no_o other_o respect_n then_o that_o by_o they_o they_o may_v serve_v their_o neighbour_n and_o subdue_v the_o arrogancy_n of_o the_o flesh_n but_o now_o see_v they_o be_v occupy_v in_o they_o with_o this_o double_a erroneous_a opinion_n as_o though_o they_o be_v necessary_a to_o salvation_n and_o righteousness_n and_o if_o they_o do_v not_o observe_v they_o they_o shall_v grievous_o sin_n they_o be_v unto_o they_o a_o most_o certain_a destruction_n nothing_o but_o delusion_n and_o sin_n whereby_o with_o their_o great_a affliction_n they_o draw_v unto_o hell_n where_o they_o shall_v full_o suffer_v the_o vexation_n and_o torment_n under_o the_o abbot_n the_o devil_n which_o be_v miserable_a and_o foolish_a man_n they_o have_v here_o begin_v for_o all_o their_o life_n do_v utter_o disagree_v with_o the_o faith_n of_o the_o son_n and_o that_o which_o belong_v only_o to_o faith_n to_o wit_n to_o justify_v and_o save_v we_o they_o attribute_v to_o their_o work_n wherefore_o these_o man_n can_v not_o both_o thus_o stick_v unto_o their_o ordinance_n and_o therewithal_o have_v faith_n which_o suffer_v itself_o to_o be_v addict_v to_o no_o certain_a work_n but_o what_o thing_n soever_o the_o lord_n either_o send_v person_n of_o place_n and_o such_o like_a yea_o he_o great_o disallow_v of_o these_o inasmuch_o as_o they_o trouble_v christian_a liberty_n these_o thing_n shall_v suffice_v to_o have_v be_v speak_v concern_v the_o exposition_n of_o this_o place_n of_o paul_n where_o about_o the_o matter_n itself_o require_v to_o spend_v so_o many_o word_n forasmuch_o as_o the_o nature_n of_o faith_n be_v so_o unknowen_a for_o unless_o thou_o do_v well_o understand_v the_o nature_n of_o faith_n thou_o shall_v perceive_v nothing_o or_o very_o little_a in_o the_o write_n of_o paul_n verse_n 6._o and_o because_o you_o be_v son_n god_n have_v send_v forth_o the_o spirit_n of_o his_o son_n into_o your_o heart_n which_o cry_v abba_n father_n here_o we_o see_v very_o plain_o that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n which_o the_o law_n command_v even_o as_o if_o i_o seek_v to_o take_v physic_n it_o be_v one_o art_n to_o tell_v what_o the_o disease_n be_v &_o a_o other_o to_o minister_v that_o which_o be_v good_a and_o wholesome_a to_o remedy_v it_o so_o stand_v the_o case_n here_o the_o law_n reveal_v the_o disease_n the_o gospel_n minister_v the_o medicine_n which_o be_v manifest_a even_o by_o the_o text_n whereof_o we_o have_v already_o entreat_v the_o lawyer_n come_v and_o be_v very_o desirous_a of_o eternal_a life_n ask_v what_o he_o must_v do_v the_o law_n declare_v it_o unto_o he_o say_v law_n the_o office_n of_o the_o law_n thou_o shall_v love_v the_o lord_n thy_o god_n with_o all_o thy_o heart_n with_o all_o thy_o soul_n with_o all_o thy_o strength_n and_o with_o all_o thy_o mind_n and_o such_o love_n as_o a_o young_a man_n bear_v towards_o a_o maid_n which_o he_o feel_v thorough_o in_o his_o mind_n moreover_o with_o all_o my_o strength_n that_o be_v with_o all_o my_o member_n also_o with_o all_o my_o mind_n that_o be_v all_o my_o sense_n cogitation_n &_o thought_n must_v be_v direct_v unto_o god_n now_o i_o find_v in_o myself_o that_o i_o do_v none_o of_o these_o for_o if_o i_o must_v love_v god_n with_o all_o my_o heart_n soul_n strength_n and_o mind_n it_o be_v requisite_a that_o my_o eye_n show_v no_o angry_a twinkle_n or_o motion_n that_o my_o tongue_n speak_v no_o grudge_v or_o grief_n so_o they_o teach_v but_o christ_n will_v have_v we_o to_o work_v with_o pleasure_n and_o cheerfulness_n so_o that_o if_o any_o thing_n be_v do_v with_o burden_n or_o grief_n of_o conscience_n it_o be_v sin_n remove_v thyself_o therefore_o quick_o from_o such_o a_o work_n wherefore_o thus_o it_o may_v be_v say_v unto_o they_o behold_v o_o man_n thou_o miserable_a he_o show_v his_o mercy_n unto_o we_o say_v after_o this_o sort_n behold_v thou_o ought_v in_o deed_n to_o love_n god_n with_o all_o thy_o heart_n but_o thou_o do_v it_o not_o now_o believe_v only_o
