he_o a_o factor_n for_o the_o devil_n and_o as_o one_o that_o make_v provision_n for_o his_o lust_n i_o may_v fit_o compare_v such_o wicked_a counsellor_n to_o the_o devil_n purveyor_n they_o bring_v all_o their_o provision_n to_o his_o storehouse_n these_o vile_a wretch_n will_v stuff_n our_o heart_n with_o these_o curse_a device_n &_o carnal_a reason_n to_o withdraw_v we_o from_o godliness_n blow_v it_o will_v be_v a_o great_a flame_n in_o the_o end_n so_o there_o be_v still_o a_o coal_n of_o corruption_n in_o we_o all_o there_o be_v a_o coal_n of_o pride_n and_o peevishness_n idleness_n and_o untowardness_n a_o curse_a body_n of_o death_n remain_v in_o the_o best_a of_o we_o &_o will_v be_v whilst_o we_o carry_v these_o house_n of_o clay_n about_o we_o but_o a_o man_n by_o meditation_n and_o consultation_n kindle_v this_o coal_n they_o bring_v the_o wood_n and_o blow_v up_o the_o fire_n and_o make_v a_o man_n fall_v in_o love_n with_o his_o part_n and_o his_o place_n and_o if_o he_o be_v not_o regard_v than_o he_o be_v all_o on_o a_o flame_n with_o anger_n and_o the_o fire_n burn_v abundant_o and_o then_o he_o cry_v out_o of_o his_o misery_n why_o do_v you_o blow_v the_o fire_n then_o when_o a_o enemy_n lie_v in_o the_o field_n to_o besiege_v a_o city_n if_o he_o have_v neither_o meat_n nor_o any_o munition_n he_o will_v not_o tarry_v long_o but_o if_o the_o people_n within_o send_v he_o provision_n it_o be_v no_o wonder_n though_o they_o be_v overthrow_v by_o he_o so_o this_o meditation_n make_v provision_n and_o consultation_n send_v it_o to_o and_o tempt_v we_o thereby_o we_o give_v money_n to_o the_o devil_n and_o subject_n ourselves_o and_o our_o soul_n to_o the_o power_n of_o temptation_n as_o occasion_n be_v offer_v to_o we_o so_o that_o we_o must_v either_o be_v captivate_v or_o overtake_v by_o they_o when_o we_o conceive_v high_o of_o our_o own_o ability_n we_o wish_v pride_n to_o come_v and_o exalt_v we_o and_o meditation_n upon_o any_o base_a occasion_n set_v open_v the_o floodgate_n that_o it_o carry_v the_o soul_n amain_o to_o the_o practice_n of_o any_o sin_n he_o as_o it_o be_v invite_v the_o devil_n to_o come_v and_o sup_v with_o he_o judas_n that_o covetous_a wretch_n when_o he_o see_v the_o box_n of_o ointment_n break_v say_v what_o need_v all_o this_o waste_n but_o alas_o he_o do_v it_o not_o because_o he_o care_v for_o the_o poor_a but_o because_o he_o be_v a_o thief_n and_o have_v the_o bag_n where_o we_o may_v observe_v this_o by_o the_o way_n he_o that_o be_v a_o covetous_a man_n they_o the_o second_o reason_n be_v 2._o reas_n 2._o take_v from_o the_o hindrance_n of_o the_o work_n of_o grace_n whereby_o we_o may_v be_v fortify_v against_o our_o corruption_n and_o that_o we_o his_o man_n when_o as_o they_o be_v all_o go_v to_o make_v provision_n for_o his_o guest_n so_o it_o be_v with_o the_o soul_n when_o a_o man_n let_v out_o all_o his_o mind_n and_o thought_n his_o reason_n affection_n and_o desire_n after_o his_o lust_n it_o be_v no_o wonder_n such_o a_o one_o can_v believe_v why_o what_o be_v become_v of_o faith_n and_o hope_v and_o patience_n in_o he_o they_o be_v all_o make_v provision_n for_o the_o flesh_n and_o there_o be_v no_o attendance_n for_o faith_n that_o sit_v alone_o in_o the_o soul_n because_o all_o the_o whole_a stream_n of_o the_o heart_n and_o mind_n be_v employ_v in_o hunt_v after_o vanity_n now_o in_o this_o extremity_n ask_v the_o poor_a soul_n if_o he_o have_v any_o assurance_n of_o god_n love_n or_o any_o stir_n of_o grace_n he_o and_o thought_n towards_o it_o now_o when_o a_o man_n have_v turn_v his_o meditation_n upon_o the_o world_n and_o the_o occasion_n thereof_o he_o be_v go_v clean_o off_o from_o the_o promise_n and_o not_o meditate_v upon_o the_o promise_n and_o the_o mean_n of_o grace_n he_o can_v receive_v no_o strength_n nor_o comfort_n from_o the_o same_o heb._n 12.3_o the_o text_n say_v consider_v he_o that_o
