heart_n cleave_v to_o the_o dust_n and_o their_o tongue_n to_o the_o roof_n of_o their_o mouth_n but_o above_o all_o if_o these_o be_v not_o not_o sufficient_a to_o persuade_v we_o in_o this_o doctrine_n there_o remain_v one_o example_n who_o we_o affirm_v to_o be_v the_o perfect_a anatomy_n of_o a_o afflict_a mind_n this_o be_v the_o lord_n and_o saviour_n jesus_n christ_n the_o image_n of_o the_o father_n jesus_n the_o head_n of_o the_o body_n the_o mirror_n of_o all_o grace_n the_o wisdom_n righteousness_n holiness_n and_o redemption_n of_o all_o the_o saint_n who_o sustain_v the_o cross_n even_o from_o his_o youth_n upward_o and_o beside_o poverty_n baseness_n hunger_n do_v willing_o go_v under_o the_o great_a trouble_n of_o contempt_n and_o reproach_n and_o that_o among_o with_o other_o evil_n which_o fall_n into_o the_o nature_n of_o man_n there_o be_v no_o sickness_n but_o physic_n provide_v for_o it_o a_o remedy_n there_o be_v no_o fore_n but_o chirurgery_n will_v afford_v it_o a_o salve_n friendship_n help_v poverty_n there_o be_v no_o imprisonment_n but_o there_o be_v hope_n of_o liberty_n suit_n and_o favour_n recover_v a_o man_n from_o banishment_n as_o a_o host_n of_o arm_a soldier_n if_o our_o friend_n where_o the_o prince_n and_o the_o governor_n of_o the_o earth_n if_o our_o possession_n be_v as_o large_a as_o between_o the_o east_n and_o the_o west_n if_o our_o meat_n be_v as_o manna_n from_o heaven_n if_o our_o apparel_n be_v as_o costly_a as_o the_o ephod_n of_o aaron_n if_o every_o day_n be_v as_o glorious_a as_o the_o day_n of_o christ_n resurrection_n yet_o if_o our_o mind_n be_v appall_v with_o the_o judgement_n of_o god_n these_o thing_n will_v little_o comfort_v us._n let_v experience_n speak_v if_o a_o trouble_a mind_n impare_v not_o health_n dry_v not_o up_o the_o blood_n waste_v not_o the_o marrow_n pine_v not_o away_o the_o flesh_n consume_v not_o the_o bone_n if_o it_o make_v not_o all_o pleasure_n painful_a and_o shorten_v not_o the_o life_n sure_o no_o wisdom_n can_v council_n it_o no_o counsel_n can_v advise_v it_o no_o advice_n can_v assuage_v it_o no_o assuagement_n can_v cure_v it_o no_o eloquence_n can_v persuade_v it_o no_o power_n can_v overcome_v it_o no_o sceptre_n will_v affray_v it_o nor_o inchaunter_n can_v charm_v it_o and_o yet_o on_o the_o contrary_a if_o a_o man_n languish_v in_o sickness_n so_o his_o hart_n be_v whole_a and_o be_v persuade_v of_o the_o health_n of_o his_o soul_n his_o sickness_n do_v not_o grieve_v he_o if_o a_o man_n be_v reproach_v so_o he_o be_v precious_a agreement_n with_o the_o hell_n to_o spare_v we_o who_o dare_v make_v a_o covenant_n with_o the_o devil_n that_o he_o will_v not_o lay_v claim_n unto_o we_o if_o then_o a_o good_a conscience_n help_v all_o evil_n and_o all_o other_o benefit_n in_o this_o life_n in_o themselves_o can_v help_v a_o trouble_a conscience_n we_o see_v it_o true_a in_o proof_n which_o here_o be_v in_o proverb_n the_o spirit_n of_o a_o man_n will_v sustain_v his_o infirmity_n but_o a_o wound_a spirit_n who_o can_v bear_v it_o again_o in_o all_o other_o affliction_n we_o may_v have_v some_o comfort_n against_o sin_n this_o be_v ever_o accompany_v with_o the_o accusation_n of_o sin_n a_o man_n may_v be_v sick_a reproach_v impoverish_v imprison_v and_o banish_v and_o yet_o in_o all_o these_o have_v a_o clear_a conscience_n his_o own_o heart_n tell_v he_o that_o there_o be_v no_o special_a cause_n of_o these_o cross_n in_o he_o but_o that_o he_o may_v suffer_v they_o for_o the_o trial_n of_o his_o faith_n or_o for_o righteousness_n sake_n and_o well_o do_v but_o when_o the_o spirit_n be_v wound_v there_o be_v still_o a_o guiltiness_n of_o sin_n and_o when_o a_o man_n spirit_n be_v trouble_v he_o suspect_v all_o his_o way_n he_o fear_v all_o his_o sin_n he_o know_v not_o what_o sin_n to_o begin_v with_o it_o breed_v such_o hurly_n burlye_v in_o he_o that_o when_o it_o be_v day_n he_o wish_v either_o they_o wax_v profane_a in_o their_o life_n or_o haereticall_a in_o their_o opinion_n do_v the_o child_n of_o god_n love_n on_o this_o manner_n no_o the_o holy_a ghost_n which_o they_o have_v
