heart_n be_v shake_v as_o the_o leaf_n of_o the_o forest_n their_o heart_n be_v shake_v even_o for_o fear_n of_o the_o king_n of_o aram_n 2._o as_o the_o leaf_n be_v shake_v in_o the_o forest_n and_o why_o because_o they_o know_v not_o how_o to_o defend_v themselves_o they_o have_v no_o refuge_n to_o fly_v to_o so_o you_o see_v it_o be_v with_o belshazars_n heart_n so_o achitophel_n and_o so_o saul_n when_o he_o see_v that_o he_o must_v die_v the_o next_o day_n and_o that_o there_o be_v no_o refuge_n for_o he_o then_o i_o say_v their_o heart_n sink_v and_o die_v within_o they_o and_o now_o consider_v how_o it_o be_v with_o thou_o what_o be_v the_o refuge_n to_o which_o thy_o heart_n fly_v and_o which_o thy_o heart_n make_v most_o account_n of_o for_o every_o man_n think_v with_o favour_n or_o the_o wealth_n of_o the_o king_n can_v do_v he_o more_o good_a and_o more_o hurt_n than_o the_o favour_n or_o the_o loss_n of_o the_o favour_n of_o christ_n he_o think_v that_o wealth_n or_o credit_n or_o something_o else_o many_o thing_n there_o be_v that_o he_o think_v can_v do_v he_o more_o good_a and_o more_o hurt_n therefore_o he_o more_o respect_v their_o command_n than_o the_o command_n of_o christ_n but_o a_o man_n that_o set_v up_o he_o for_o his_o chief_a commander_n he_o regard_v nothing_o else_o when_o it_o come_v to_o cross_v it_o when_o it_o come_v to_o thwart_v any_o command_n of_o christ_n because_o he_o say_v thus_o to_o himself_o in_o his_o heart_n in_o secret_a it_o be_v the_o lord_n that_o can_v do_v the_o great_a good_a and_o the_o great_a hurt_n forth_o a_o effectual_a almighty_a power_n from_o he_o which_o do_v not_o make_v a_o little_a light_a alteration_n on_o the_o superficies_n of_o the_o heart_n but_o it_o alter_v the_o very_a frame_n of_o it_o it_o turn_v the_o very_a rudder_n of_o the_o heart_n so_o that_o a_o man_n course_n be_v to_o a_o quite_o contrary_a point_n of_o the_o compass_n it_o be_v such_o a_o alteration_n as_o do_v breed_v in_o we_o not_o some_o good_a conception_n only_o of_o purpose_n and_o desire_n which_o many_o have_v which_o when_o they_o come_v to_o the_o birth_n there_o be_v no_o strength_n to_o bring_v in_o grain_n with_o grace_n and_o holiness_n and_o therefore_o consider_v whetâ—â—â—_n thou_o have_v find_v any_o experience_n of_o such_o a_o power_n go_v out_o from_o christ_n to_o thy_o heart_n this_o my_o belove_a differ_v from_o common_a grace_n from_o the_o common_a form_n of_o godliness_n which_o be_v in_o the_o world_n as_o much_o as_o the_o life_n differ_v from_o the_o picture_n or_o the_o substance_n from_o the_o shadow_n as_o a_o through_o performance_n differ_v from_o a_o proffer_n or_o a_o offer_n or_o as_o that_o which_o have_v sinew_n and_o vigour_n differ_v from_o that_o which_o be_v weak_a and_o powerles_a therefore_o this_o power_n of_o christ_n which_o he_o put_v forth_o and_o diffuse_v into_o the_o heart_n of_o every_o man_n that_o be_v in_o he_o be_v call_v the_o kingdom_n and_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n be_v not_o in_o word_n 4.20_o but_o in_o power_n that_o be_v when_o once_o he_o rule_v but_o as_o a_o king_n he_o exercise_v a_o kingdom_n there_o and_o any_o part_n of_o his_o body_n there_o go_v a_o certain_a virtue_n from_o his_o will_n a_o certain_a secret_a power_n efficacy_n and_o command_v that_o stir_v they_o this_o way_n or_o that_o way_n the_o thing_n we_o see_v not_o yet_o we_o see_v it_o in_o the_o effect_n or_o as_o you_o see_v it_o in_o the_o creature_n you_o see_v the_o creature_n that_o god_n have_v make_v they_o have_v all_o the_o several_a instinct_n by_o which_o they_o be_v instigate_v to_o do_v this_o or_o that_o you_o see_v the_o bird_n be_v instigate_v to_o make_v their_o nest_n in_o such_o a_o fashion_n at_o such_o a_o season_n so_o every_o creature_n according_a to_o his_o several_a kind_n there_o go_v out_o from_o god_n who_o be_v the_o author_n of_o nature_n to_o these_o work_n of_o nature_n a_o certain_a with_o it_o that_o direct_v it_o just_a to_o such_o â—_o mark_v so_o far_o and_o no_o further_o so_o after_o this_o manner_n there_o come_v a_o power_n from_o christ_n to_o his_o member_n as_o soon_o as_o a_o man_n be_v in_o he_o there_o come_v such_o a_o secret_a divine_a unexpressable_a efficacy_n that_o work_v upon_o the_o heart_n of_o he_o in_o who_o he_o dwell_v and_o therefore_o the_o conjunction_n between_o he_o and_o we_o be_v compare_v to_o that_o which_o be_v between_o the_o soul_n and_o the_o body_n that_o act_n and_o stir_v we_o to_o and_o fro_o according_a to_o its_o will_n call_v a_o new_a creature_n and_o therefore_o consider_v with_o thyself_o whether_o thou_o find_v such_o a_o virtue_n as_o have_v put_v thy_o heart_n into_o such_o a_o new_a frame_n as_o have_v mould_v it_o all_o together_o and_o have_v put_v it_o into_o another_o fashion_n than_o it_o be_v consider_v whether_o all_o in_o thou_o be_v new_a you_o will_v say_v this_o be_v strange_a must_v all_o be_v new_a quest._n answ._n my_o belove_a you_o know_v the_o word_n they_o be_v clear_a old_a thing_n be_v pass_v away_o 5.17_o all_o thing_n be_v become_v new_a in_o the_o same_o place_n which_o i_o quote_v before_o that_o as_o the_o command_n be_v in_o the_o offering_n of_o the_o passeover_n not_o a_o jot_n of_o old_a leaven_n but_o we_o must_v part_v with_o it_o now_o this_o be_v it_o and_o so_o it_o appear_v in_o thy_o life_n we_o think_v we_o believe_v those_o thing_n but_o our_o life_n do_v manifest_v the_o contrary_a namely_o that_o there_o be_v not_o a_o powerful_a faith_n wrought_v in_o we_o for_o all_o the_o error_n of_o our_o life_n though_o we_o observe_v they_o not_o arise_v from_o hence_o that_o these_o principle_n be_v not_o thorough_o believe_v if_o christ_n so_o also_o consider_v whether_o there_o have_v a_o virtue_n go_v out_o from_o he_o to_o work_v love_n in_o thy_o heart_n to_o the_o lord_n for_o otherwise_o it_o be_v certain_a that_o there_o be_v no_o man_n in_o the_o world_n that_o be_v able_a to_o love_n god_n or_o to_o come_v near_o he_o for_o all_o love_n rise_v from_o similitude_n there_o must_v be_v a_o agreement_n and_o similitude_n between_o those_o two_o that_o love_n now_o every_o man_n by_o nature_n be_v as_o contrary_a to_o god_n pure_a nature_n as_o fire_n be_v to_o water_n &_o without_o a_o almighty_a power_n to_o change_v his_o nature_n and_o to_o work_v a_o particular_a affection_n of_o love_n in_o he_o he_o can_v never_o be_v able_a to_o love_n god_n therefore_o it_o be_v the_o baptism_n of_o the_o the_o world_n consider_v if_o this_o be_v wrought_v in_o thou_o or_o no._n and_o so_o for_o thy_o knowledge_n there_o be_v also_o a_o power_n in_o it_o consider_v whether_o any_o such_o virtue_n have_v go_v out_o from_o christ_n to_o make_v the_o knowledge_n which_o thou_o have_v powerful_a you_o will_v say_v what_o be_v that_o answ._n quest._n that_o be_v to_o bring_v on_o these_o truth_n which_o thy_o heart_n assent_v unto_o to_o bring_v they_o with_o that_o evidence_n and_o fullness_n of_o demonstration_n that_o thou_o shall_v yield_v unto_o they_o and_o practice_v they_o according_a to_o thy_o knowledge_n belove_a there_o be_v much_o knowledge_n among_o we_o but_o who_o practise_v according_a to_o his_o knowledge_n we_o know_v god_n but_o we_o glorify_v he_o not_o as_o god_n 1.21_o and_o the_o reason_n be_v because_o there_o have_v not_o go_v a_o power_n with_o that_o knowledge_n to_o make_v it_o lively_a and_o effectual_a to_o pass_v through_o all_o the_o faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o to_o over-rule_v they_o for_o if_o there_o be_v such_o knowledge_n it_o will_v always_o draw_v affection_n and_o practice_v with_o it_o so_o likewise_o consider_v whether_o there_o in_o the_o same_o place_n the_o prayer_n of_o a_o righteous_a man_n avail_v much_o if_o it_o be_v fervent_a that_o be_v it_o must_v be_v a_o prayer_n make_v from_o the_o sense_n of_o the_o misery_n that_o be_v in_o we_o &_o from_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n when_o a_o man_n take_v a_o thing_n to_o heart_n that_o he_o pray_v for_o and_o come_v with_o confidence_n to_o be_v hear_v for_o that_o make_v he_o fervent_a this_o the_o lord_n will_v have_v and_o also_o he_o will_v

than_o this_o shall_v teach_v we_o to_o be_v more_o fervent_a in_o this_o duty_n of_o prayer_n than_o common_o we_o be_v for_o to_o what_o end_n be_v such_o promise_n as_o this_o but_o to_o encourage_v we_o to_o do_v our_o duty_n when_o we_o hear_v that_o prayer_n be_v of_o so_o much_o efficacy_n that_o it_o prevail_v with_o the_o lord_n for_o any_o thing_n shall_v we_o suffer_v it_o to_o lie_v by_o as_o it_o be_v and_o not_o make_v use_n of_o it_o if_o a_o drug_n or_o a_o precious_a balm_n be_v commend_v to_o we_o and_o it_o be_v tell_v we_o that_o if_o we_o make_v use_v of_o it_o it_o will_v heal_v any_o wound_n it_o will_v heal_v any_o sickness_n and_o this_o and_o this_o virtue_n it_o have_v will_v a_o wise_a man_n suffer_v it_o to_o lie_v by_o he_o will_v he_o not_o
