withstand_v it_o for_o thy_o heart_n by_o nature_n without_o grace_n though_o it_o be_v never_o so_o much_o admonish_v and_o instruct_v by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n to_o entertain_v godliness_n and_o virtue_n though_o never_o so_o much_o move_v and_o prick_v forward_o unto_o piety_n and_o obedience_n towards_o god_n it_o will_v be_v like_o lot_n wife_n look_v back_o again_o to_o her_o wont_a desire_n until_o it_o be_v turn_v as_o it_o be_v into_o a_o stone_n that_o no_o fear_n of_o punishment_n nor_o threat_n of_o torment_n shall_v at_o last_o be_v able_a to_o pierce_v it_o to_o the_o right_a reformation_n of_o it_o for_o as_o the_o heart_n be_v total_o corrupt_v by_o nature_n so_o every_o motion_n of_o the_o heart_n in_o itself_o tend_v to_o corruption_n take_v heed_n therefore_o lest_o at_o any_o time_n there_o be_v in_o you_o a_o evil_a heart_n and_o unfaithful_a to_o depart_v from_o the_o live_a god_n and_o harden_v through_o the_o desâ—itfulnesse_n of_o sin_n the_o best_a heart_n have_v some_o feeling_n of_o evil_a motion_n sin_n proceed_v from_o a_o subtle_a prompter_n and_o deceive_v the_o heart_n not_o well_o instruct_v the_o heart_n not_o regenerate_v but_o the_o heart_n who_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n have_v sanctify_v feel_v in_o itself_o a_o mere_a dislike_n of_o sundry_a motion_n which_o intrude_v themselves_o as_o it_o be_v by_o stealth_n into_o it_o strive_v to_o have_v the_o mastery_n against_o which_o the_o regenerate_a part_n set_v itself_o as_o the_o bee_n against_o the_o drone_n to_o hurl_v they_o out_o of_o the_o hive_n of_o the_o heart_n nature_n and_o grace_n can_v no_o more_o mutual_o agree_v and_o embrace_v one_o the_o other_o than_o fire_n and_o water_n and_o that_o be_v the_o reason_n that_o the_o unregenerate_a be_v at_o more_o peace_n than_o the_o regenerate_a heart_n for_o as_o the_o heart_n by_o nature_n engross_v all_o carnal_a thing_n that_o may_v delight_v it_o and_o be_v at_o peace_n in_o itself_o have_v no_o cross_a motion_n to_o trouble_v it_o so_o a_o spiritual_a and_o sanctify_a heart_n harbour_v or_o at_o least_o endeavour_n to_o entertain_v every_o good_a and_o godly_a motion_n and_o therefore_o as_o the_o best_a heart_n be_v in_o part_n spiritual_a and_o in_o part_n carnal_a there_o arise_v a_o spiritual_a war_n as_o it_o be_v in_o a_o true_o regenerate_v heart_n between_o the_o flesh_n and_o the_o spirit_n which_o argue_v the_o heart_n to_o be_v indeed_o more_o spiritual_a than_o carnal_a for_o if_o it_o be_v total_o carnal_a there_o will_v be_v no_o strive_v but_o in_o that_o heart_n wherein_o the_o holy_a spirit_n of_o god_n have_v place_n there_o through_o the_o malice_n of_o satan_n and_o through_o natural_a corruption_n will_v fleshly_a and_o carnal_a motion_n often_o intrude_v either_o of_o they_o strive_v to_o be_v chief_a lord_n of_o the_o heart_n for_o either_o of_o they_o covet_v to_o have_v all_o or_o none_o the_o spirit_n will_v admit_v no_o participation_n with_o the_o flesh_n but_o the_o flesh_n yet_o will_v be_v content_a like_o the_o false_o pretend_v mother_n of_o the_o child_n to_o have_v the_o heart_n divide_v so_o she_o may_v have_v her_o share_n for_o her_o pleasure_n she_o can_v afford_v a_o share_n to_o the_o spirit_n but_o it_o shall_v be_v but_o a_o small_a share_n by_o the_o will_n of_o the_o flesh_n nature_n and_o grace_n strive_v in_o the_o best_a heart_n which_o of_o they_o shall_v rule_v therein_o for_o let_v grace_n be_v never_o so_o strong_a in_o we_o yet_o will_v nature_n show_v itself_o oftentimes_o yea_o and_o seem_v to_o be_v mistress_n
