suggestion_n and_o temptation_n of_o the_o devil_n ready_a to_o thrust_v i_o into_o the_o gulf_n of_o wickedness_n and_o despair_n and_o now_o the_o soul_n begin_v to_o think_v that_o it_o be_v good_a for_o it_o to_o return_v again_o into_o egypt_n to_o fall_v to_o its_o old_a course_n again_o for_o certain_o god_n look_v for_o no_o such_o matter_n he_o require_v no_o such_o strictness_n and_o preciseness_n and_o so_o it_o fall_v a_o whine_a and_o repine_v at_o the_o word_n and_o minister_n of_o god_n that_o have_v call_v man_n to_o it_o and_o lay_v it_o upon_o they_o and_o have_v no_o heart_n now_o to_o do_v thus_o and_o thus_o any_o long_a and_o thus_o it_o fall_v into_o discouragement_n because_o of_o the_o way_n and_o into_o a_o thousand_o quandary_n whether_o it_o may_v not_o go_v back_o again_o or_o no._n and_o all_o these_o murmur_n and_o repine_n be_v because_o man_n suffer_v themselves_o to_o be_v discourage_v three_o discouragement_n will_v cause_v thou_o to_o think_v that_o god_n hate_v thou_o when_o the_o soul_n like_o baal_n priest_n have_v be_v cry_v from_o morning_n to_o noon_n ten_o twenty_o thirty_o year_n it_o may_v be_v and_o yet_o have_v no_o answer_n now_o it_o will_v begin_v to_o think_v if_o god_n do_v love_v i_o than_o he_o will_v grant_v i_o my_o petition_n then_o hereupon_o come_v into_o a_o man_n secret_a thought_n and_o fear_n that_o god_n hardly_o love_v his_o soul_n so_o be_v it_o with_o israel_n when_o they_o be_v discourage_v they_o say_v because_o the_o lord_n hate_v we_o therefore_o he_o bring_v we_o out_o of_o the_o land_n of_o egypt_n deut._n 1._o 27._o because_o that_o they_o be_v discourage_v and_o because_o that_o their_o brethren_n that_o go_v for_o spy_n have_v dishearten_v they_o therefore_o they_o be_v apt_a to_o say_v the_o lord_n hate_v they_o belove_a it_o be_v a_o miserable_a thing_n when_o the_o soul_n call_v the_o love_n of_o god_n into_o question_n consider_v that_o as_o thou_o can_v not_o have_v a_o friend_n if_o thou_o be_v suspicious_a and_o jealous_a of_o his_o love_n to_o thou_o so_o thou_o can_v never_o have_v the_o love_n of_o god_n settle_v on_o thy_o heart_n so_o long_o as_o thou_o be_v jealous_a of_o his_o love_n to_o thou_o four_o if_o thou_o root_v they_o not_o out_o it_o be_v to_o be_v fear_v that_o they_o will_v bring_v thou_o to_o despair_v mâ—lancholy_n thought_n and_o fear_n and_o discouragement_n drive_v the_o soul_n to_o despair_v for_o when_o the_o soul_n see_v itself_o still_o disappoint_v of_o its_o hope_n at_o the_o last_o it_o grow_v hopeless_a if_o it_o have_v wait_v one_o day_n and_o the_o next_o day_n too_o if_o it_o have_v pray_v this_o week_n this_o month_n this_o year_n and_o yet_o still_o it_o see_v itself_o hold_v off_o and_o disappoint_v it_o will_v at_o last_o grow_v hopeless_a take_v heed_n therefore_o i_o beseech_v you_o of_o all_o needless_a discouragement_n to_o fear_n be_v ause_fw-la that_o thou_o find_v not_o that_o that_o thou_o wish_v require_v in_o a_o true_a conversion_n of_o the_o soul_n to_o god_n that_o herein_o true_a repentance_n must_v declare_v and_o demonstrate_v itself_o by_o these_o and_o these_o fruit_n or_o else_o it_o be_v but_o false_a and_o rot_a why_o now_o the_o soul_n must_v needs_o be_v bring_v to_o despair_v because_o it_o see_v that_o though_o it_o have_v be_v thus_o and_o thus_o humble_v though_o it_o have_v pray_v fast_v and_o mourn_v in_o this_o and_o this_o manner_n yet_o it_o see_v it_o have_v not_o a_o soundness_n of_o grace_n there_o be_v such_o a_o grace_n in_o it_o such_o a_o work_n and_o such_o a_o fruit_n of_o god_n spirit_n in_o it_o that_o yet_o he_o can_v never_o find_v in_o himself_o this_o make_v the_o soul_n to_o despair_v indeed_o preacher_n may_v be_v too_o blame_v if_o they_o speak_v and_o preach_v only_o the_o terror_n and_o condemnation_n of_o the_o law_n without_o the_o promise_n of_o the_o gospel_n for_o these_o shall_v be_v so_o temper_v that_o every_o poor_a because_o it_o disagree_v and_o jar_n with_o his_o lust_n indeed_o a_o wicked_a man_n may_v love_v the_o word_n so_o long_o as_o it_o oppose_v not_o against_o his_o lust_n therefore_o a_o wicked_a if_o a_o minister_n speak_v only_o of_o wit_n learning_n and_o memory_n etc._n etc._n a_o wicked_a man_n will_v love_v it_o it_o oppose_v not_o his_o lust_n second_o they_o may_v love_v impertinent_a preach_n when_o though_o it_o be_v never_o so_o pertinent_a to_o some_o in_o the_o church_n yet_o if_o it_o be_v not_o pertinent_a to_o he_o he_o love_v that_o as_o the_o drunkard_n love_v to_o hear_v the_o minister_n preach_v against_o hypocrisy_n though_o never_o so_o sharp_o the_o prodigal_a person_n love_v to_o hear_v the_o minister_n preach_v against_o covetousness_n but_o if_o the_o word_n come_v to_o strike_v he_o under_o his_o five_o rib_n to_o discover_v his_o corruption_n and_o the_o plague_n of_o god_n due_a to_o he_o for_o his_o sin_n than_o he_o hate_v it_o three_o he_o may_v love_v preach_v in_o tanto_fw-la though_o not_o in_o â—oto_fw-la he_o mav_v love_n so_o or_o so_o much_o preach_v but_o not_o preach_v altogether_o a_o wicked_a man_n conscience_n tell_v he_o that_o upon_o the_o lord_n jesus_n at_o his_o death_n the_o vile_a whoremaster_n and_o profane_a person_n the_o earthly_a worldling_n etc._n etc._n will_v yield_v to_o some_o preach_v and_o to_o some_o hear_n and_o to_o some_o read_n why_o otherwise_o their_o conscience_n will_v not_o be_v at_o quiet_a but_o will_v be_v as_o the_o devil_n band-dogge_n bawl_v and_o hout_v at_o he_o but_o if_o the_o minister_n call_v for_o more_o religion_n than_o his_o lust_n will_v suffer_v for_o more_o religion_n than_o will_v subsist_v with_o his_o security_n deadness_n lukewarmenesse_n hypocrisy_n worldliness_n that_o he_o can_v yield_v to_o and_o retain_v they_o then_o he_o think_v there_o be_v too_o much_o of_o it_o than_o he_o hate_v it_o and_o can_v endure_v it_o thus_o you_o see_v that_o
