mourn_v for_o that_o which_o can_v but_o at_o most_o prejudice_n the_o body_n and_o yet_o never_o grieve_v for_o that_o which_o can_v prejudice_v and_o destroy_v their_o soul_n 2._o i_o beseech_v you_o belove_v take_v heed_n of_o be_v lavish_a of_o your_o tear_n for_o worldly_a cross_n or_o affliction_n it_o be_v pity_n to_o wash_v a_o foul_a room_n with_o sweet_a water_n i_o must_v needs_o tell_v you_o tear_n be_v too_o precious_a to_o shâ—d_v for_o every_o trifle_n it_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n better_o you_o will_v keep_v this_o precious_a water_n to_o wash_v away_o your_o sin_n for_o though_o it_o be_v christ_n blood_n alone_o that_o can_v wash_v away_o the_o guilt_n of_o sin_n yet_o your_o tear_n may_v much_o conduce_v to_o wash_v away_o the_o filth_n and_o power_n of_o sin_n when_o you_o mourn_v for_o worldly_a cross_n then_o weep_v as_o if_o you_o weep_v not_o but_o when_o you_o mourn_v for_o sin_n mourn_v as_o much_o as_o you_o can_v be_v like_o you_o before_o the_o sun_n that_o will_v soon_o melt_v and_o convert_v into_o water_n you_o that_o be_v the_o child_n of_o god_n know_v that_o you_o have_v great_a thing_n and_o of_o high_a concernment_n to_o bestow_v your_o tear_n upon_o than_o any_o outward_a trouble_n you_o have_v daily_a fail_n and_o many_o sin_n and_o corruption_n unmortified_a and_o unsubdued_a and_o the_o loss_n of_o the_o light_n of_o god_n countenance_n to_o mourn_v for_o your_o sorrow_n never_o run_v aright_o but_o when_o they_o run_v in_o this_o channel_n when_o your_o tear_n run_v into_o the_o millpond_n to_o grind_v your_o lust_n and_o corruption_n to_o consume_v and_o weaken_v they_o then_o be_v your_o sorrow_n right_a and_o regular_a last_o let_v i_o entreat_v and_o advise_v you_o not_o to_o mistake_v in_o reference_n to_o your_o sorrow_n to_o think_v you_o do_v mourn_v and_o grieve_v for_o sin_n when_o it_o be_v only_o for_o outward_a affliction_n many_o man_n when_o their_o neighbour_n ask_v they_o why_o they_o be_v so_o sad_a and_o mournful_a and_o weep_v so_o much_o will_v be_v ready_a to_o say_v it_o be_v for_o their_o sin_n and_o fail_n and_o corruption_n that_o be_v too_o strong_a for_o they_o or_o the_o like_a when_o indeed_o it_o be_v only_o for_o some_o cross_n or_o outward_a trouble_n they_o have_v meet_v with_o therefore_o do_v not_o mistake_v that_o sorrow_n to_o be_v for_o your_o sin_n which_o be_v only_o or_o especial_o for_o some_o outward_a affliction_n you_o have_v meet_v with_o sermon_n 2._o we_o come_v now_o to_o the_o three_o question_n which_o i_o shall_v spend_v this_o whole_a aftemoon_n upon_o and_o that_o be_v this_o to_o lay_v down_o to_o you_o 12_o consideration_n whereby_o to_o allay_v and_o keep_v under_o immoderateness_n and_o excessive_a sorrow_n for_o any_o worldly_a cross_n or_o affliction_n and_o how_o to_o keep_v ourselves_o in_o the_o frame_n and_o temper_n of_o spirit_n which_o the_o apostle_n here_o enjoin_v we_o namely_o to_o weep_v as_o if_o we_o weep_v not_o i_o tell_v you_o in_o the_o morning_n god_n will_v not_o have_v we_o stupid_a and_o insensible_a of_o his_o hand_n in_o any_o affliction_n but_o yet_o as_o we_o shall_v not_o be_v stoical_a so_o neither_o must_v we_o be_v excessive_a in_o our_o sorrow_n i_o have_v
