his_o former_a bondage_n unto_o sin_n now_o so_o far_o as_o a_o man_n get_v a_o conquest_n over_o his_o lust_n that_o they_o be_v keep_v under_o and_o forbear_v to_o assault_v and_o molest_v he_o so_o far_o he_o may_v be_v say_v to_o have_v this_o peace_n of_o sanctification_n the_o conscience_n when_o it_o be_v awake_a and_o stir_a and_o in_o the_o act_n of_o enquiry_n and_o of_o indite_v accuse_v &_o condemn_v man_n for_o sin_n do_v withal_o 14_o prick_n lash_n gripe_n sting_v and_o wound_v the_o heart_n with_o unutterable_a &_o unconceivable_a grief_n fear_n and_o terror_n through_o the_o apprehension_n of_o god_n infinite_a eternal_a and_o just_a wrath_n for_o sin_n now_o when_o god_n by_o his_o 5_o spirit_n give_v any_o true_a hope_n and_o assurance_n unto_o a_o man_n that_o his_o justice_n be_v satisfy_v concern_v he_o through_o christ_n and_o that_o now_o all_o enmity_n and_o wrath_n be_v do_v away_o on_o god_n part_n and_o that_o he_o love_v he_o in_o christ_n with_o a_o free_a full_a and_o everlasting_a love_n hereby_o 16_o he_o speak_v peace_n to_o the_o conscience_n have_v do_v away_o all_o the_o guilt_n of_o sin_n which_o before_o molest_v it_o through_o sense_n of_o god_n anger_n and_o fear_v of_o punishment_n hence_o arise_v peace_n and_o comfort_n in_o the_o conscience_n which_o therefore_o be_v call_v peace_n of_o conscience_n thus_o the_o mind_n cease_v to_o be_v perplex_v and_o by_o faith_n in_o christ_n death_n through_o the_o spirit_n become_v quiet_a with_o a_o heavenly_a tranquillity_n rest_v on_o the_o word_n of_o promise_n and_o according_a to_o the_o measure_n of_o clear_a apprehension_n of_o god_n love_n in_o christ_n in_o the_o same_o measure_n the_o mind_n be_v at_o sweet_a agreement_n within_o itself_o without_o 27_o fear_n or_o trouble_v and_o in_o the_o same_o measure_n he_o have_v peace_n of_o conscience_n flow_v from_o the_o assurance_n of_o justification_n as_o soon_o also_o as_o a_o man_n begin_v actual_o to_o be_v at_o peace_n with_o god_n his_o lust_n do_v begin_v to_o be_v at_o war_n with_o he_o rebel_a against_o the_o law_n of_o his_o mind_n which_o yet_o may_v by_o little_a and_o little_o be_v subdue_v and_o conquer_v though_o not_o all_o lust_n at_o any_o time_n nor_o yet_o any_o one_o full_o in_o this_o life_n yet_o by_o virtue_n of_o the_o peace_n now_o make_v with_o god_n if_o he_o will_v improve_v it_o by_o seek_v help_n of_o god_n if_o withal_o he_o take_v to_o he_o the_o 10_o complete_a armour_n and_o do_v fight_v manful_o under_o christ_n banner_n he_o may_v so_o prevail_v against_o they_o himself_o because_o this_o peace_n of_o conscience_n do_v not_o flow_v necessary_o from_o the_o be_v in_o god_n favour_n but_o from_o knowledge_n and_o assurance_n of_o be_v in_o his_o favour_n now_o
