we_o not_o to_o be_v mute_a when_o any_o occasion_n of_o fear_n or_o affliction_n may_v move_v we_o to_o seek_v the_o help_n of_o god_n we_o must_v cry_v unto_o god_n not_o unto_o dumb_a stock_n and_o stone_n nor_o to_o any_o dead_a creature_n or_o angel_n who_o they_o be_v fond_o frame_v to_o represent_v but_o unto_o the_o live_a god_n he_o only_o can_v hear_v be_v our_o prayer_n never_o so_o secret_a and_o silent_a he_o hear_v moses_n and_o anna_n only_o move_v their_o lip_n without_o sound_n so_o that_o it_o be_v not_o the_o loudness_n of_o the_o voice_n but_o the_o affection_n of_o the_o heart_n that_o make_v the_o cry_n where_o unto_o god_n give_v ear_n many_o no_o doubt_n can_v and_o do_v cry_v lord_n lord_n and_o that_o loud_a enough_o and_o yet_o they_o be_v not_o hear_v because_o they_o cry_v not_o in_o faith_n and_o therefore_o david_n do_v not_o only_o say_v lord_n harken_v unto_o my_o cry_n but_o withal_o crave_v that_o god_n will_v have_v mercy_n upon_o he_o cry_v unto_o i_o say_v god_n but_o i_o will_v not_o hear_v they_o because_o they_o pray_v without_o faith_n and_o repentance_n therefore_o when_o affliction_n &_o anguish_n shall_v fall_v upon_o they_o they_o shall_v call_v upon_o i_o but_o i_o will_v not_o answer_v they_o shall_v seek_v i_o but_o shall_v not_o find_v i_o but_o the_o faithful_a afflict_a he_o hear_v and_o such_o as_o depart_v himself_o to_o the_o kingdom_n who_o it_o be_v after_o saul_n yet_o neither_o his_o own_o peril_n wherein_o he_o daily_o stand_v through_o the_o malice_n and_o fury_n of_o saul_n nor_o his_o own_o future_a right_n to_o the_o crown_n can_v move_v he_o to_o touch_v the_o lord_n anoint_v contrary_a to_o the_o mind_n of_o many_o ambitious_a man_n both_o of_o former_a and_o latter_a age_n who_o be_v loath_a to_o let_v slip_v any_o opportunity_n offer_v be_v it_o never_o so_o unjust_a to_o advance_v their_o greatness_n but_o david_n stay_v himself_o upon_o hope_n that_o god_n who_o have_v so_o often_o deliver_v he_o will_v still_o do_v it_o without_o any_o unlawful_a mean_n of_o his_o own_o and_o in_o his_o time_n appoint_v will_v advance_v he_o as_o he_o have_v promise_v and_o therefore_o wait_v the_o time_n with_o patience_n comfort_v his_o heart_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o his_o danger_n and_o long_o it_o be_v not_o before_o he_o come_v lawful_o to_o that_o which_o before_o he_o may_v and_o will_v not_o because_o he_o hope_v in_o god_n who_o he_o know_v he_o shall_v have_v offend_v if_o he_o have_v take_v the_o counsel_n of_o some_o that_o advise_v he_o there_o be_v no_o hope_n to_o that_o hope_n whereunto_o david_n encourage_v himself_o &_o other_o no_o strength_n to_o that_o strength_n and_o no_o man_n heart_n can_v be_v true_o comfort_v but_o by_o the_o comfort_n wherewith_o he_o affirm_v his_o heart_n be_v comfort_v therefore_o chéer_v he_o up_o his_o own_o soul_n with_o this_o holy_a resolution_n to_o hope_v in_o the_o lord_n with_o this_o heavenly_a strength_n to_o be_v strong_a in_o the_o lord_n and_o with_o that_o comfort_n wherewith_o he_o be_v comfort_v of_o the_o lord_n there_o be_v a_o hope_n that_o be_v vain_a a_o strength_n that_o be_v weak_a and_o a_o comfort_n that_o be_v but_o counterfeit_n let_v we_o then_o take_v hold_n of_o that_o hope_n &_o that_o strength_n and_o that_o comfort_n that_o be_v of_o god_n and_o trust_v in_o he_o so_o shall_v we_o not_o need_v to_o be_v afraid_a of_o enemy_n to_o faint_v in_o affliction_n but_o shall_v be_v sure_a to_o find_v comfort_n in_o all_o our_o trouble_n solomon_n say_v that_o hope_v that_o be_v defer_v be_v the_o faint_a of_o the_o heart_n but_o that_o be_v but_o to_o the_o fainthearted_a for_o if_o we_o wait_v not_o it_o be_v no_o hope_n but_o if_o we_o abide_v with_o patience_n god_n appoint_a time_n we_o shall_v enjoy_v what_o we_o hope_v for_o and_o when_o the_o desire_n come_v it_o be_v a_o tree_n of_o life_n and_o david_n have_v often_o gather_v the_o fruit_n of_o this_o tree_n and_o feed_v thereon_o when_o he_o faint_v he_o give_v here_o of_o the_o same_o fruit_n to_o other_o hope_v say_v he_o in_o the_o lord_n be_v strong_a be_v not_o fainthearted_a though_o hope_v be_v defer_v for_o come_v the_o thing_n we_o hope_v for_o will_v tarry_v no_o long_o than_o a_o convenient_a time_n and_o then_o it_o will_v comfort_v the_o heart_n hope_n grow_v strong_a by_o the_o effect_n of_o god_n goodness_n former_o hope_v for_o and_o have_v which_o saint_n paul_n affirm_v encourage_v the_o corinthian_n as_o david_n do_v himself_o and_o other_o to_o hope_v to_o be_v strong_a to_o trust_v in_o the_o lord_n and_o to_o lay_v hold_n upon_o the_o hope_n that_o be_v set_v before_o we_o which_o hope_v we_o have_v as_o a_o anchor_n of_o the_o soul_n sure_a and_o steadfast_a and_o this_o be_v the_o comfort_n of_o the_o heart_n that_o david_n mean_v even_o our_o faith_n in_o god_n whereby_o we_o take_v hold_v of_o the_o assure_a performance_n of_o his_o promise_n not_o only_o of_o temporal_a and_o corporal_a but_o of_o spiritual_a and_o celestial_a blessing_n and_o the_o patient_a wait_a for_o they_o be_v our_o hope_n how_o then_o can_v it_o be_v that_o god_n who_o have_v promise_v unto_o the_o faithful_a the_o life_n to_o come_v that_o with_o patience_n in_o hope_n wait_v for_o it_o under_o the_o cross_n shall_v not_o consider_v &_o regard_v their_o danger_n trouble_n affliction_n even_o in_o this_o life_n for_o if_o he_o have_v give_v his_o son_n to_o die_v for_o our_o sin_n how_o shall_v he_o not_o with_o he_o give_v we_o all_o thing_n to_o enjoy_v though_o we_o must_v wait_v his_o time_n he_o be_v not_o slack_a as_o some_o man_n count_v slackness_n but_o be_v always_o ready_a and_o at_o hand_n he_o that_o have_v promise_v he_o be_v faithful_a and_o true_a though_o the_o unfaithful_a will_v not_o take_v his_o word_n not_o his_o hand_n not_o his_o oath_n the_o faithful_a know_v and_o be_v assure_v that_o he_o will_v never_o fail_v they_o nor_o forsake_v they_o therefore_o hope_v in_o the_o lord_n be_v strong_a and_o he_o will_v comfort_v thy_o heart_n and_o trust_v in_o the_o lord_n a_o prayer_n for_o strength_n patience_n and_o hope_v in_o trouble_n o_o father_n possessor_n of_o heaven_n and_o earth_n and_o the_o disposer_n and_o preserver_n of_o they_o and_o of_o all_o thing_n
