public_a prayer_n because_o it_o be_v neglect_v of_o a_o great_a many_o which_o otherwise_o think_v themselves_o good_a professor_n of_o christiavity_n for_o i_o speak_v not_o here_o of_o open_a recusantes_fw-la that_o be_v worthy_o blame_v and_o also_o punish_v for_o their_o indurate_a obstinacy_n but_o i_o speak_v only_o of_o those_o that_o will_v not_o come_v to_o public_a prayer_n except_o there_o be_v preach_v how_o necessary_a it_o be_v that_o there_o shall_v be_v preach_v in_o every_o congregation_n what_o good_a man_n see_v not_o what_o good_a christian_n desire_v it_o not_o for_o it_o be_v the_o best_a external_a mean_n to_o teach_v we_o how_o to_o pray_v and_o all_o other_o good_a duty_n whatsoever_o but_o where_o one_o want_v must_v the_o other_o also_o be_v neglect_v god_n forbid_v i_o think_v there_o be_v no_o reason_n to_o be_v yield_v for_o it_o except_o you_o will_v say_v it_o be_v reason_n that_o while_o a_o man_n be_v fight_v with_o his_o enemy_n and_o his_o sword_n be_v break_v off_o or_o strike_v out_o of_o his_o hand_n he_o must_v therefore_o cast_v away_o the_o dagger_n too_o and_o so_o suffer_v himself_o to_o be_v kill_v or_o stab_v present_o have_v we_o not_o hear_v before_o that_o prayer_n be_v that_o weapon_n that_o must_v ever_o be_v present_a with_o we_o both_o at_o home_n &_o abroad_o both_o in_o private_a and_o in_o public_a they_o therefore_o for_o that_o be_v the_o common_a excuse_n that_o will_v pray_v at_o home_n or_o in_o private_a wheâ—_n they_o may_v and_o will_v not_o come_v unto_o public_a prayer_n be_v like_a unto_o some_o dastardâ—_n soldier_n who_o while_o the_o whole_a camp_n be_v skirmish_v flourish_v their_o sword_n out_o a_o part_n by_o themselves_o and_o yet_o think_v they_o have_v play_v the_o man_n sufficient_o i_o speak_v not_o against_o private_a prayer_n but_o rather_o persuade_v all_o man_n unto_o it_o but_o i_o speak_v only_o against_o those_o that_o will_v not_o come_v at_o public_a prayer_n where_o many_o soldier_n to_o gether_o may_v do_v better_a service_n than_o a_o few_o alone_o and_o also_o by_o the_o way_n those_o may_v be_v note_v that_o all_o the_o time_n of_o public_a prayer_n will_v be_v busy_v in_o their_o private_a prayer_n as_o though_o they_o be_v soldier_n of_o a_o other_o camp_n and_o sometime_o read_v or_o poore_v in_o a_o book_n and_o that_o be_v use_v of_o many_o in_o time_n of_o preach_v also_o as_o though_o public_a prayer_n and_o preach_v be_v not_o to_o be_v regard_v these_o abuse_n therefore_o and_o many_o other_o which_o i_o can_v stand_v to_o rehearse_v be_v avoid_v and_o eschew_v the_o force_n and_o fruit_n of_o faithful_a and_o zealous_a prayer_n as_o well_o private_a as_o public_a will_v be_v the_o better_o feel_v and_o perceive_v of_o all_o those_o that_o shall_v religious_o and_o careful_o accustom_v themselves_o unto_o it_o many_o i_o know_v have_v write_v most_o learned_o and_o excellent_o of_o the_o sweet_a fruit_n and_o efficacy_n of_o prayer_n howbeit_o i_o persuade_v myself_o that_o we_o may_v say_v of_o they_o and_o of_o all_o other_o that_o shall_v entreat_v thereof_o as_o the_o samaritan_n say_v to_o the_o woman_n 10.8_o io._n 4.42_o 1._o king_n 10.8_o that_o bring_v they_o tiding_n of_o christ_n and_o as_o the_o queen_n of_o saba_n say_v of_o the_o domestical_a servant_n of_o solomon_n the_o gracious_a word_n that_o proceed_v out_o of_o his_o mouth_n to_o they_o the_o one_o half_a be_v not_o report_v that_o they_o find_v true_a by_o their_o own_o experience_n and_o can_v be_v express_v to_o other_o i_o wish_v therefore_o every_o christian_a soul_n not_o to_o think_v to_o find_v the_o fruit_n of_o prayer_n demonstrate_v in_o paper_n but_o to_o endeavour_n daily_o to_o feel_v the_o force_n thereof_o in_o themselves_o by_o practice_n and_o then_o let_v they_o tell_v i_o whether_o this_o thing_n be_v not_o true_a that_o i_o have_v say_v for_o what_o thing_n be_v there_o that_o our_o soul_n can_v wish_v or_o desire_n if_o it_o be_v good_a for_o we_o but_o may_v be_v obtain_v by_o prayer_n what_o case_n or_o sort_n soever_o we_o be_v in_o we_o may_v either_o be_v confirm_v or_o comfort_v by_o prayer_n what_o work_n or_o labour_n be_v there_o which_o we_o take_v in_o hand_n whether_o of_o soul_n or_o body_n how_o hard_o soever_o it_o be_v if_o it_o be_v agreeable_a to_o our_o calling_n but_o may_v be_v achieve_v by_o prayer_n in_o time_n of_o peace_n prayer_n keep_v

that_o the_o son_n of_o man_n shall_v come_v unto_o judgement_n in_o his_o glory_n with_o all_o his_o holy_a angel_n and_o be_v seâ—_n upon_o the_o seat_n of_o his_o glory_n all_o nation_n shall_v be_v gather_v before_o he_o the_o faithful_a sheep_n on_o his_o right_a hand_n and_o the_o sinful_a goat_n on_o the_o left_a hand_n he_o present_o add_v then_o the_o king_n shall_v say_v unto_o they_o on_o his_o right_a hand_n â—4_n math_n 25._o â—4_n that_o be_v to_o the_o faithful_a come_v you_o bless_v of_o my_o father_n inherit_v you_o the_o kingdom_n prepare_v for_o you_o from_o the_o foundation_n of_o the_o world_n contrariwise_o the_o same_o king_n shall_v say_v unto_o they_o on_o his_o left_a hand_n that_o be_v to_o the_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a go_v you_o curse_v or_o depart_v from_o i_o you_o curse_v into_o everlasting_a fire_n which_o be_v prepare_v for_o the_o devil_n and_o his_o angel_n 41._o â—er_n 41._o with_o what_o word_n i_o beseech_v you_o can_v our_o saviour_n more_o persuade_v we_o to_o have_v regard_n how_o we_o live_v in_o this_o world_n then_o by_o propose_v unto_o we_o these_o two_o contrary_a sentence_n the_o one_o so_o full_a of_o joy_n &_o comfort_n as_o no_o tongue_n can_v express_v the_o other_o so_o full_a of_o grief_n &_o horror_n as_o no_o hart_n can_v think_v that_o the_o king_n pronounce_v first_o the_o sentence_n of_o bliss_n it_o note_v his_o goodness_n &_o bountifulness_n incline_v rather_o to_o grace_n and_o mercy_n then_o to_o rigour_n and_o justice_n if_o we_o have_v but_o so_o much_o grace_n and_o goodness_n as_o to_o accept_v of_o it_o before_o it_o be_v too_o late_o that_o he_o use_v this_o singular_a word_n of_o comfort_n come_v you_o it_o note_v the_o ardent_a love_n and_o affection_n that_o our_o saviour_n bear_v to_o his_o sheep_n who_o he_o have_v purchase_v with_o his_o own_o blood_n therefore_o he_o give_v so_o great_a a_o charge_n unto_o those_o who_o he_o have_v appoint_v pastor_n over_o they_o in_o this_o life_n to_o feed_v his_o sheep_n and_o to_o have_v care_n of_o they_o in_o the_o wilderness_n of_o this_o world_n that_o none_o of_o they_o be_v destroy_v or_o lose_v through_o their_o negligence_n if_o they_o be_v their_o blood_n will_v he_o require_v at_o their_o shepherd_n hand_n that_o he_o call_v they_o the_o bless_a of_o his_o father_n it_o note_v that_o they_o be_v belove_v of_o god_n &_o before_o ordain_v unto_o this_o blessing_n it_o high_o commend_v god_n free_a grace_n &_o favour_n not_o man_n merit_n or_o deserve_v that_o he_o bid_v they_o to_o possessâ—_n the_o kingdom_n
