go_v to_o prayer_n renew_v thy_o resolution_n against_o wander_a thought_n say_v with_o thyself_o i_o have_v lose_v many_o a_o prayer_n through_o the_o distraction_n of_o my_o thought_n and_o wander_n of_o my_o mind_n after_o worldly_a matter_n therein_o and_o i_o be_o in_o danger_n to_o lose_v this_o prayer_n also_o if_o i_o be_v not_o the_o more_o watchful_a over_o myself_o therefore_o i_o do_v now_o resolve_v with_o the_o assistance_n of_o god_n grace_n to_o be_v more_o watchful_a over_o my_o thought_n to_o keep_v my_o heart_n close_o unto_o the_o duty_n i_o be_o go_v about_o and_o not_o will_v find_v very_o effectual_a as_o for_o the_o intention_n of_o thy_o affection_n by_o raise_v they_o to_o a_o high_a pitch_n so_o for_o the_o attention_n of_o thy_o mind_n in_o keep_v it_o from_o wander_a and_o rove_a after_o worldly_a thought_n and_o imagination_n 4_o but_o if_o notwithstanding_o thou_o find_v that_o in_o pray_v thy_o mind_n and_o heart_n have_v be_v sometime_o take_v up_o and_o possess_v with_o worldly_a thought_n and_o distraction_n it_o will_v be_v a_o good_a course_n in_o thy_o private_a prayer_n to_o repeat_v that_o again_o which_o so_o cold_o and_o careless_o pass_v from_o thou_o labour_v in_o thy_o repetition_n to_o repel_v all_o wander_a thought_n and_o to_o pour_v forth_o those_o petition_n again_o after_o a_o more_o hearty_a manner_n for_o by_o impose_v this_o task_n upon_o thyself_o thou_o will_v become_v more_o wary_a and_o watchful_a over_o thy_o thought_n lest_o otherwise_o thou_o be_v enforce_v to_o continue_v long_o at_o that_o exercise_n unto_o which_o through_o the_o depravation_n of_o thy_o nature_n thou_o be_v so_o backward_o and_o averse_a ii_o as_o preparation_n be_v necessary_a before_o prayer_n so_o in_o prayer_n divers_a thing_n be_v require_v as_o 1_o faith_n prayer_n must_v be_v make_v in_o faith_n which_o our_o saviour_n plain_o express_v 24_o where_o he_o say_v whatsoever_o thing_n you_o desire_v when_o therefore_o thou_o desire_v to_o have_v thy_o prayer_n effectual_a let_v they_o be_v fervent_a and_o so_o thou_o shall_v not_o need_v to_o doubt_v of_o a_o gracious_a and_o happy_a issue_n i_o grant_v thou_o can_v not_o always_o have_v a_o like_a fervency_n yet_o thou_o must_v always_o strive_v against_o deadness_n of_o heart_n and_o dulness_n of_o spirit_n for_o god_n regard_v the_o manner_n of_o our_o action_n as_o much_o as_o the_o matter_n how_o we_o pray_v as_o well_o as_o what_o we_o pray_v for_o iii_o the_o duty_n require_v after_o prayer_n be_v these_o 1_o diligent_o to_o look_v after_o
