be_v unto_o our_o god_n for_o ever_o and_o ever_o amen_n v._o 13._o and_o one_o of_o the_o elder_n answer_v say_v unto_o i_o what_o be_v these_o which_o be_v array_v in_o white_a robe_n and_o whence_o out_o of_o great_a tribulation_n and_o this_o great_a tribulation_n be_v so_o call_v from_o the_o long_a duration_n of_o it_o nor_o can_v it_o be_v otherway_n for_o that_o it_o be_v to_o continue_v as_o long_o as_o the_o papal_a kingdom_n namely_o two_o and_o forty_o month_n or_o a_o 1260_o day_n be_v which_o be_v 1260_o year_n as_o we_o shall_v afterward_o see_v they_o be_v represent_v clothe_v in_o white_a robe_n as_o they_o under_o the_o five_o seal_n be_v to_o intimate_v both_o their_o dignity_n and_o their_o joy._n but_o beside_o this_o they_o be_v represent_v stand_v before_o the_o throne_n and_o before_o the_o lamb_n with_o palm_n in_o their_o hand_n whereas_o they_o under_o the_o five_o seal_n be_v represent_v under_o the_o altar_n and_o without_o palm_n the_o reason_n of_o that_o difference_n be_v this_o because_o under_o the_o five_o seal_n the_o enemy_n of_o the_o martyr_n have_v the_o upper_a hand_n of_o they_o and_o persecute_v their_o memory_n to_o that_o degree_n as_o to_o dig_v their_o body_n out_o of_o the_o ground_n and_o to_o throw_v their_o ash_n into_o the_o wind_n as_o account_v they_o a_o abominable_a crew_n whereas_o in_o the_o place_n of_o that_o these_o here_o their_o great_a tribulation_n be_v finish_v and_o the_o 1260_o year_n expire_v and_o the_o beast_n and_o the_o false_a prophet_n be_v cast_v into_o the_o bottomless_a pit_n be_v represent_v stand_v before_o the_o throne_n of_o god_n and_o with_o palm_n in_o their_o hand_n as_o conqueror_n over_o all_o their_o enemy_n they_o shall_v be_v acknowledge_v bless_v in_o heaven_n and_o such_o who_o after_o the_o end_n of_o this_o tribulation_n shall_v be_v find_v on_o the_o earth_n walk_v in_o their_o faith_n shall_v reign_v with_o christ_n a_o thousand_o year_n so_o that_o the_o holy_a spirit_n do_v by_o way_n of_o anticipation_n describe_v here_o the_o felicity_n of_o the_o church_n of_o god_n on_o the_o earth_n whereof_o we_o have_v speak_v upon_o the_o subject_a of_o the_o first_o resurrection_n that_o the_o terrible_a calamity_n which_o be_v to_o be_v represent_v under_o the_o trumpet_n may_v not_o discourage_v believer_n be_v strengthen_v and_o fortify_v before_o hand_n by_o a_o promise_n of_o the_o victory_n which_o the_o church_n shall_v at_o last_o obtain_v over_o her_o enemy_n the_o prophet_n isaiah_n have_v promise_v the_o same_o happiness_n to_o the_o church_n of_o israel_n for_o he_o have_v say_v chap._n 25._o v._n 8._o that_o god_n will_v wipe_v away_o tear_n from_o off_o all_o face_n and_o he_o have_v say_v chap._n 41._o v._n 10._o that_o empire_n be_v overthrow_v and_o after_o that_o the_o christian_a religion_n be_v establish_v by_o public_a authority_n and_o that_o a_o end_n be_v put_v to_o persecution_n st._n john_n see_v heresy_n and_o superstition_n break_v in_o upon_o the_o church_n but_o this_o do_v not_o come_v to_o pass_v immediate_o there_o be_v a_o space_n before_o that_o have_v the_o face_n of_o a_o peace_n or_o truce_n in_o a_o word_n there_o be_v a_o a_o short_a interval_n that_o be_v it_o which_o have_v be_v already_o represent_v by_o the_o hold_v back_o of_o the_o four_o wind_n whereof_o we_o have_v speak_v in_o the_o five_o illustration_n and_o it_o be_v the_o same_o which_o be_v represent_v by_o the_o silence_n mention_v here_o at_o the_o open_n of_o the_o 7_o the_o seal_n for_o when_o no_o wind_n blow_v there_o be_v a_o general_a calm_a and_o a_o great_a silence_n in_o the_o air_n which_o be_v call_v heaven_n in_o scripture_n but_o in_o this_o place_n heaven_n signify_v the_o church_n and_o silence_n denote_v the_o peace_n that_o be_v establish_v under_o the_o reign_n of_o constantin_n call_v a_o silence_n for_o half_a a_o hour_n because_o that_o peace_n continue_v only_o for_o a_o few_o year_n so_o that_o if_o the_o hold_v the_o wind_n from_o blow_v signify_v a_o general_a peace_n the_o silence_n for_o half_a a_o hour_n mark_v the_o short_a while_n that_o it_o last_v ix_o illustration_n of_o the_o seven_o angel_n with_o the_o seven_o trumpet_n and_o of_o the_o angel_n who_o cast_v the_o censer_n into_o the_o earth_n rev._n chap._n 8._o v._o 2._o and_o i_o see_v the_o seven_o angel_n which_o stand_v before_o god_n and_o to_o they_o be_v give_v seven_o trumpet_n v._o 3._o and_o another_o angel_n come_v and_o stand_v at_o the_o altar_n have_v a_o golden_a censer_n
