controversy_n for_o nothing_o seem_v more_o absurd_a unto_o they_o then_o to_o think_v god_n shall_v put_v a_o ceremonial_a sign_n and_o shadow_n into_o the_o body_n of_o the_o four_o come_v and_o heart_n of_o the_o moral_a law_n all_o which_o writer_n do_v condemn_v those_o who_o will_v make_v the_o sabbath_n day_n a_o sign_n &_o so_o abolish_v by_o this_o text_n exod._n 31.13_o for_o matter_n of_o absurdety_n 1._o it_o appear_v in_o this_o that_o by_o bring_v this_o text_n exod._n 31._o against_o the_o moral_a and_o weekly_a sabbath_n command_v in_o the_o moral_a law_n hereby_o they_o pick_v quarrel_n with_o god_n &_o his_o ordinance_n for_o this_o text_n do_v not_o say_v that_o because_o the_o sabbath_n be_v a_o sign_n thereby_o you_o shall_v know_v it_o for_o certain_a that_o it_o shall_v be_v abolish_v no_o but_o because_o the_o sabbath_n be_v here_o call_v a_o sign_n therefore_o hence_o they_o will_v needs_o collect_v that_o it_o must_v be_v abolish_v &_o for_o furtherance_n of_o this_o wicked_a collection_n all_o their_o wites_z &_o invention_n be_v set_v on_o work_n partly_o so_o to_o expound_v this_o text_n as_o it_o may_v not_o be_v understod_a of_o the_o yearly_a sabbath_n by_o no_o mean_n lest_o so_o the_o moral_a &_o weekly_a sabbath_n shall_v be_v preserve_v from_o ruin_n and_o destruction_n &_o therefore_o they_o will_v expound_v it_o of_o this_o moral_a and_o weekly_a sabbath_n that_o so_o it_o may_v be_v abolish_v &_o its_o light_n extinguish_v partly_o how_o to_o prove_v all_o sign_n to_o be_v abolish_v &_o the_o like_a and_o this_o be_v do_v to_o this_o evil_a end_n also_o that_o so_o they_o may_v bring_v the_o sabbath_n of_o the_o lord_n within_o the_o compass_n of_o a_o abolish_v sign_n and_o so_o quite_o raze_v it_o out_o of_o the_o moral_a law_n and_o root_v it_o out_o of_o the_o church_n thus_o you_o see_v how_o they_o seek_v out_o for_o and_o study_v to_o find_v matter_n against_o god_n ordinance_n and_o all_o this_o needless_o and_o causeless_o save_o that_o they_o bear_v a_o grudge_n against_o the_o lord_n sabbath_n and_o will_v have_v they_o profane_v for_o what_o other_o reason_n can_v they_o render_v of_o this_o their_o fact_n sure_a i_o be_o this_o text_n exod._n 31._o do_v not_o compel_v they_o to_o say_v any_o thing_n against_o the_o seven_o day_n sabbath_n for_o they_o be_v faint_a to_o use_v their_o best_a wit_n to_o invent_v something_o in_o it_o that_o may_v make_v against_o god_n sabbath_n and_o be_v not_o this_o then_o to_o pick_v a_o quarrel_n with_o god_n ordinance_n s._n paul_n say_v love_n think_v no_o evil_a 1._o cor._n 13.5_o &_o sure_a i_o be_o these_o man_n think_v no_o good_a for_o do_v they_o love_v god_n sabbath_n and_o god_n commandment_n for_o themselves_o unless_o destruction_n yea_o &_o that_o too_o when_o they_o need_v not_o so_o do_v have_v no_o cause_n move_v they_o thereunto_o save_o a_o corrupt_a mind_n this_o be_v a_o malitiouse_a &_o wicked_a spirit_n that_o will_v study_v the_o overthrow_n of_o a_o ancient_a ordinance_n of_o god_n yea_o a_o ordinance_n as_o ancient_a as_o any_o in_o the_o church_n of_o god_n what_o soever_o and_o labour_n to_o undermine_v it_o causeless_o i_o wish_v m._n chappel_n &_o his_o other_o 9_o confederate_a minister_n will_v think_v of_o this_o point_n at_o the_o latter_a end_n after_o i_o have_v handle_v the_o four_o come_v i_o give_v sundry_a effectual_a reason_n to_o move_v we_o to_o the_o love_n of_o god_n law_n &_o be_v this_o the_o love_n that_o man_n bear_v to_o it_o to_o seek_v out_o how_o &_o which_o way_n they_o may_v overthrow_v for_o ever_o some_o part_n of_o it_o and_o what_o will_v be_v the_o issue_n of_o all_o this_o why_o even_o this_o hereby_o god_n moral_a law_n shall_v become_v a_o morall-ceremoniall_a law_n god_n law_n shall_v be_v maim_v &_o deny_v its_o integrity_n &_o perfection_n yea_o a_o godly_a prayer_n of_o our_o church_n shall_v become_v a_o babble_n before_o god_n &_o those_o most_o ancient_a church_n which_o live_v next_o the_o apostle_n &_o be_v therefore_o account_v the_o most_o pure_a church_n shall_v be_v condemn_v in_o that_o they_o religious_o observe_v this_o sabbath_n day_n a_o second_o absurdety_n that_o these_o man_n who_o be_v partial_a in_o god_n law_n do_v fale_n into_o by_o sharpen_v their_o wites_z to_o fetch_v a_o argument_n out_o of_o this_o text_n exod._n 31.13_o against_o the_o seven_o day_n sabbath_n be_v this_o that_o hereby_o they_o do_v contradict_v themselves_o most_o foul_o for_o they_o teach_v &_o maintain_v that_o the_o rest_n in_o the_o four_o come_v be_v moral_a &_o perpetual_a &_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o they_o will_v bring_v a_o argument_n out_o of_o this_o text_n which_o do_v plain_o ovethrow_v this_o rest_n as_o well_o as_o any_o thing_n else_o for_o the_o hebrew_n word_n sabbath_n signify_v rest_n now_o then_o if_o the_o sabbath_n here_o mention_v exod._n 31.13_o be_v a_o sign_n and_o so_o abolish_v so_o must_v also_o the_o rest_v signify_v by_o the_o word_n sabbath_n be_v a_o sign_n also_o &_o abolish_v too_o and_o yet_o for_o all_o this_o will_v they_o have_v this_o rest_n moral_a &_o perpetual_a will_v they_o have_v this_o sabbath_n or_o rest_n both_o moral_a and_o ceremonial_a what_o a_o gross_a contradiction_n be_v this_o yet_o further_o it_o be_v to_o be_v note_v that_o whereas_o the_o controversy_n betwixt_o we_o be_v about_o the_o time_n &_o day_n only_o for_o they_o will_v abolish_v the_o seven_o day_n this_o text_n which_o they_o bring_v do_v not_o so_o much_o
