again_o in_o the_o second_o place_n man_n in_o their_o youth_n forget_v the_o day_n 29._o of_o their_o reckon_n and_o judgement_n they_o be_v not_o mindful_a of_o their_o latter_a end_n deut._n 32._o 22._o oh_o that_o they_o be_v wise_a that_o they_o understand_v this_o that_o they_o will_v consider_v their_o latter_a end_n this_o precept_n be_v neglect_v both_o by_o youth_n and_o age_n but_o a_o little_a time_n to_o think_v with_o himself_o well_o if_o i_o can_v live_v but_o to_o see_v myself_o the_o father_n of_o a_o thousand_o child_n and_o may_v come_v to_o people_n almost_o a_o world_n this_o be_v a_o very_a fruitful_a and_o profitable_a point_n but_o because_o i_o will_v not_o be_v straighten_a and_o because_o the_o apostle_n intend_v it_o not_o as_o the_o main_a thing_n i_o do_v but_o only_a name_n it_o the_o second_o thing_n and_o that_o which_o saint_n paul_n main_o intend_v 2._o be_v that_o because_o we_o have_v but_o a_o little_a time_n we_o be_v even_o ready_a to_o strike_v sail_n and_o to_o go_v to_o the_o harbour_n present_o therefore_o he_o that_o have_v a_o wife_n shall_v be_v as_o if_o he_o have_v none_o and_o he_o that_o use_v the_o world_n as_o if_o he_o use_v it_o not_o etc._n etc._n and_o there_o the_o lesson_n that_o i_o note_n be_v this_o that_o the_o serious_a meditation_n of_o the_o little_a and_o short_a time_n that_o we_o world_n have_v to_o remain_v in_o here_o below_o shall_v be_v a_o great_a mean_n to_o cut_v we_o off_o from_o the_o world_n and_o to_o put_v we_o upon_o thought_n and_o action_n concern_v heaven_n i_o shall_v not_o need_v to_o give_v you_o a_o better_a ground_n of_o the_o point_n than_o be_v in_o the_o text._n the_o time_n be_v short_a say_v he_o the_o time_n be_v contract_v you_o be_v ready_a to_o strike_v great_a place_n why_o because_o they_o know_v that_o that_o honour_n be_v but_o for_o a_o year_n and_o that_o will_v be_v go_v present_o therefore_o they_o care_v not_o for_o it_o so_o the_o apostle_n teach_v in_o this_o
much_o for_o other_o thing_n if_o once_o you_o let_v your_o soul_n be_v fill_v with_o the_o thing_n of_o a_o better_a life_n then_o wife_n and_o child_n and_o wealth_n and_o pleasure_n or_o any_o thing_n else_o will_v not_o draw_v away_o your_o heart_n get_v a_o good_a handfast_a of_o jesus_n christ_n work_v out_o your_o salvation_n that_o you_o may_v know_v that_o you_o be_v believer_n upon_o good_a ground_n and_o that_o you_o have_v the_o grace_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o you_o in_o deed_n and_o in_o truth_n that_o you_o be_v new_a creature_n and_o then_o often_o think_v of_o it_o be_v do_v in_o half_a a_o hour_n and_o though_o it_o make_v a_o fine_a show_n yet_o in_o truth_n there_o be_v no_o substance_n in_o it_o there_o be_v one_o it_o be_v a_o fashion_n beside_o it_o pass_v away_o so_o then_o in_o this_o spur_n there_o be_v two_o thing_n i_o will_v but_o name_v the_o head_n substance_n first_o that_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n all_o that_o i_o name_v before_o be_v but_o a_o show_n without_o a_o substance_n even_o as_o a_o scene_n or_o comedy_n thing_n that_o have_v a_o glorious_a glitter_a show_n to_o the_o eye_n but_o if_o you_o look_v in_o deed_n and_o in_o truth_n upon_o they_o there_o be_v no_o such_o matter_n that_o be_v one_o thing_n that_o i_o note_v that_o our_o life_n be_v but_o as_o the_o act_n of_o a_o part_n in_o a_o comedy_n and_o so_o by_o consequence_n in_o all_o these_o outward_a thing_n thy_o contentment_n in_o wife_n or_o child_n or_o credit_n or_o pleasure_n thou_o do_v but_o act_v a_o glorious_a part_n it_o may_v be_v thou_o have_v a_o goodly_a outside_n fine_a clothes_n rich_a apparel_n a_o outward_a representation_n of_o comfort_n but_o look_v through_o they_o and_o there_o be_v no_o such_o matter_n but_o the_o second_o thing_n which_o i_o rather_o will_v press_v be_v that_o it_o be_v go_v sudden_o go_v it_o pass_v away_o say_v the_o apostle_n as_o a_o man_n have_v but_o a_o little_a time_n to_o tarry_v in_o the_o world_n so_o all_o the_o thing_n he_o enjoy_v in_o the_o world_n be_v wondrous_a inconstant_a that_o look_v as_o it_o be_v in_o a_o play_n he_o that_o now_o act_v the_o part_n of_o a_o king_n it_o may_v be_v next_o he_o may_v act_v the_o part_n of_o a_o beggar_n or_o as_o it_o be_v with_o some_o of_o your_o delicate_a fashion_n that_o while_o you_o be_v speak_v of_o they_o the_o fashion_n be_v spoil_v even_o so_o the_o fashion_n of_o this_o world_n it_o will_v not_o continue_v that_o be_v the_o sum_n of_o that_o i_o desire_v you_o to_o take_v notice_n of_o that_o if_o you_o will_v not_o be_v persuade_v by_o i_o or_o by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o his_o unworthy_a minister_n to_o use_v the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n moderate_o and_o to_o carry_v yourselves_o as_o you_o ought_v in_o cross_n and_o affliction_n yet_o know_v this_o that_o the_o fashion_n of_o these_o thing_n will_v short_o be_v spoil_v and_o if_o they_o be_v all_o so_o unconstant_a what_o a_o fool_n be_v thou_o to_o set_v thy_o heart_n upon_o they_o we_o may_v learn_v this_o wisdom_n from_o the_o foolery_n of_o our_o english_a nation_n esteem_v now_o the_o idle_v people_n of_o the_o world_n for_o change_v their_o fashion_n they_o will_v never_o make_v clothes_n twice_o of_o one_o fashion_n but_o one_o gown_n of_o this_o fashion_n and_o another_o of_o that_o and_o though_o he_o be_v never_o so_o good_a a_o tailor_n that_o make_v it_o yet_o he_o must_v make_v no_o more_o of_o the_o same_o fashion_n but_o the_o next_o term_n they_o will_v cometo_o another_o learn_v i_o say_v this_o wisdom_n from_o that_o foolery_n now_o the_o lord_n give_v thou_o comfort_n in_o thy_o wife_n set_v not_o thy_o heart_n too_o much_o upon_o she_o the_o next_o term_n the_o fashion_n may_v in_o god_n name_n to_o follow_v his_o fashion_n if_o the_o fashion_n that_o god_n will_v have_v thou_o be_v in_o be_v to_o be_v a_o humble_a deject_a man_n be_v content_a with_o that_o fashion_n if_o anon_o he_o will_v have_v thou_o on_o the_o top_n of_o the_o wheel_n of_o prosperity_n thank_v god_n for_o it_o take_v heed_n of_o abuse_v the_o thing_n thou_o enjoy_v remember_v the_o thing_n of_o this_o life_n be_v inconstant_a thing_n as_o a_o flower_n as_o a_o nosegay_n that_o seem_v as_o a_o dainty_a fine_a thing_n but_o while_o we_o be_v smell_v at_o it_o and_o praise_v it_o it_o wither_v away_o so_o be_v it_o with_o all_o these_o thing_n i_o will_v i_o can_v tell_v how_o to_o speak_v home_o to_o your_o soul_n and_o yet_o i_o know_v that_o little_a i_o have_v speak_v if_o it_o be_v entertain_v with_o faith_n if_o you_o believe_v this_o to_o be_v the_o truth_n of_o god_n not_o as_o the_o speech_n that_o a_o man_n make_v to_o you_o but_o as_o the_o speech_n of_o saint_n paul_n a_o apostle_n of_o christ_n that_o set_v it_o down_o by_o the_o direction_n of_o god_n that_o it_o be_v thus_o i_o say_v if_o you_o lay_v down_o this_o as_o a_o truth_n that_o come_v from_o god_n and_o
