brethren_n to_o endeavour_v by_o all_o the_o mean_n that_o they_o can_v the_o establish_n and_o maintain_v of_o this_o truth_n that_o the_o moral_a law_n give_v by_o god_n to_o adam_n in_o the_o beginning_n and_o renew_v afterward_o by_o moses_n upon_o mount_n sinai_n be_v a_o everlasting_a rule_n leave_v by_o god_n unto_o his_o church_n for_o the_o right_a order_n and_o guide_v they_o in_o church_n take_v afterward_o in_o the_o ordain_v of_o the_o feast_n of_o purim_n wherein_o both_o the_o occasion_n and_o institution_n of_o the_o feast_n go_v both_o together_o nay_o even_o the_o rest_v alike_o because_o god_n condition_n and_o we_o be_v not_o alike_o show_v no_o equity_n in_o the_o law_n at_o all_o we_o can_v make_v good_a this_o position_n it_o be_v equal_a and_o just_a that_o we_o shall_v rest_v because_o god_n rest_v there_o be_v infinite_a odds_o between_o god_n condition_n and_o we_o god_n may_v rest_v as_o long_o and_o as_o often_o as_o he_o please_v see_v he_o have_v al-sufficienty_a in_o himself_o and_o be_v not_o support_v by_o labour_n as_o man_n and_o their_o estate_n be_v who_o if_o they_o shall_v cease_v from_o their_o labour_n too_o long_o or_o too_o often_o must_v necessary_o perish_v so_o that_o by_o reason_v in_o this_o manner_n that_o we_o must_v rest_v because_o god_n rest_v too_o can_v make_v the_o equity_n of_o this_o law_n appear_v at_o all_o see_v therefore_o the_o equity_n of_o the_o law_n can_v be_v evidence_v by_o reason_v from_o god_n mere_a act_n of_o rest_v upon_o that_o day_n let_v we_o now_o try_v whether_o the_o other_o way_n of_o deduce_v the_o reason_n of_o the_o law_n from_o god_n advance_v and_o honour_v the_o seven_o day_n by_o his_o rest_v thereupon_o and_o establish_v the_o rule_n of_o our_o rest_n thereupon_o do_v not_o more_o clear_o manifest_v the_o equity_n of_o this_o law_n in_o that_o particular_a evident_a but_o draw_v the_o reason_n from_o god_n honour_v of_o that_o day_n by_o his_o rest_n the_o equity_n of_o the_o law_n be_v evident_a if_o we_o draw_v the_o reason_n of_o the_o law_n from_o the_o honour_n of_o the_o seven_o day_n by_o god_n rest_v upon_o that_o from_o all_o his_o work_n we_o may_v conceive_v that_o he_o argue_v in_o this_o or_o that_o manner_n that_o day_n which_o be_v honour_v by_o god_n above_o other_o day_n by_o his_o most_o eminent_a work_n of_o mercy_n to_o mankind_n minor_a or_o second_o proposition_n only_o be_v express_v in_o the_o word_n of_o the_o law_n and_o that_o too_o only_o in_o part_n for_o there_o be_v no_o more_o say_v but_o that_o god_n rest_v that_o themselves_o be_v all_o equal_a that_o which_o advance_v one_o day_n above_o another_o must_v be_v some_o memorable_a event_n that_o have_v happen_v on_o that_o day_n again_o that_o such_o memorable_a event_n ought_v to_o be_v the_o ground_n upon_o which_o such_o day_n as_o god_n have_v mark_v out_o by_o they_o church_n lay_v down_o a_o ground_n upon_o which_o god_n institute_v other_o feast_n and_o the_o church_n and_o advance_v above_o other_o day_n aught_o to_o be_v observe_v above_o other_o day_n be_v as_o clear_v and_o evident_a wherefore_o we_o see_v that_o god_n himself_o have_v take_v that_o for_o his_o ground_n of_o justify_v the_o feast_n of_o passeover_n and_o pentecost_n and_o in_o imitation_n of_o he_o the_o jew_n upon_o the_o same_o ground_n take_v upon_o they_o the_o observation_n of_o the_o feast_n of_o purim_n hest_n 9.21_o nature_n yea_o the_o very_a heathen_n lead_v thereto_o by_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n 23._o yea_o the_o very_a heathen_a themselves_o as_o that_o these_o particular_n which_o follow_n can_v be_v deny_v first_o that_o the_o conclusion_n which_o the_o apostle_n intend_v to_o prove_v be_v that_o unbelief_n shut_v a_o man_n out_o of_o heaven_n second_o it_o be_v as_o manifest_v that_o to_o prove_v this_o he_o produce_v the_o prophet_n david_n testimony_n threaten_v man_n to_o be_v shut_v out_o of_o god_n rest_n if_o they_o harden_v their_o heart_n by_o unbelief_n as_o their_o father_n have_v do_v three_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o the_o apostle_n assume_v that_o david_n by_o this_o rest_n can_v mean_v nothing_o else_o but_o heaven_n four_o it_o be_v as_o clear_v that_o he_o prove_v that_o the_o psalmist_n by_o the_o rest_n which_o he_o mention_n in_o that_o place_n can_v mean_v no_o other_o rest_n but_o heaven_n because_o there_o be_v no_o other_o rest_n leave_v out_o of_o which_o man_n may_v be_v exclude_v but_o heaven_n in_o david_n day_n in_o the_o five_o place_n to_o make_v that_o good_a the_o apostle_n proceed_v by_o way_n of_o enumeration_n or_o induction_n and_o reckon_v up_o three_o several_a sort_n of_o rest_n which_o may_v be_v call_v god_n rest_v namely_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o sabbath_n the_o rest_n of_o canaan_n and_o the_o rest_n of_o heaven_n six_o the_o apostle_n far_o assume_v that_o the_o rest_n which_o david_n mention_n can_v not_o be_v the_o rest_n of_o the_o sabbath_n nor_o the_o rest_n of_o canaan_n seven_o it_o can_v be_v deny_v but_o that_o he_o affirm_v that_o the_o people_n have_v many_o year_n age_n before_o david_n time_n enter_v into_o canaan_n under_o the_o long_o before_o david_n time_n even_o by_o god_n himself_o from_o the_o foundation_n of_o the_o world_n therefore_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o sabbath_n can_v not_o be_v the_o rest_n that_o david_n mean_v in_o that_o place_n i_o grant_v indeed_o that_o the_o conclusion_n necessary_o follow_v out_o of_o these_o premise_n but_o i_o affirm_v withal_o that_o the_o major_a proposition_n be_v utter_o false_a and_o no_o way_n fute_v with_o the_o scope_n of_o the_o apostle_n in_o this_o disputation_n for_o it_o be_v true_a that_o notwithstanding_o god_n enter_v into_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o sabbath_n david_n can_v not_o mean_v that_o rest_n in_o this_o place_n because_o it_o be_v possible_a that_o man_n may_v not_o enter_v into_o that_o rest_n although_o god_n do_v &_o it_o be_v only_a between_o man_n exclude_v and_o man_n enter_v upon_o which_o the_o whole_a weight_n of_o the_o disputation_n lie_v and_o that_o so_o evident_o that_o it_o may_v be_v just_o wonder_v that_o any_o man_n
