christ_n be_v not_o only_o not_o believe_v man_n opinion_n and_o determination_n from_o the_o sacred_a text_n of_o which_o i_o have_v so_o free_o deliver_v myself_o but_o it_o be_v not_o mere_o the_o belief_n even_o of_o the_o thing_n contain_v in_o scripture_n to_o be_v true_a for_o this_o the_o devil_n &_o hypocrite_n do_v and_o yet_o very_o bad_a believer_n they_o refuse_v not_o the_o authority_n of_o scripture_n the_o devil_n make_v use_v of_o it_o to_o christ_n himself_o but_o he_o will_v have_v the_o explain_n and_o apply_v of_o it_o and_o since_o he_o can_v not_o hinder_v the_o divine_a inspiration_n if_o he_o may_v but_o be_v allow_v the_o exposition_n he_o hope_v to_o secure_v his_o kingdom_n since_o then_o the_o verity_n &_o authority_n of_o both_o history_n and_o doctrine_n may_v be_v believe_v by_o the_o devil_n and_o hypocrite_n that_o be_v false_a to_o their_o own_o faith_n and_o knowledge_n we_o can_v without_o great_a injustice_n to_o the_o faith_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n which_o be_v the_o faith_n of_o all_o his_o follower_n allow_v that_o a_o mere_a belief_n of_o the_o verity_n and_o authority_n of_o the_o history_n and_o doctrine_n of_o scripture_n be_v that_o true_a and_o precious_a faith_n i'faith_o then_o in_o the_o sense_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n thus_o define_v viz._n the_o evidence_n of_o thing_n not_o see_v and_o the_o substance_n of_o thing_n hope_v for_o 1._o this_o be_v general_n and_o run_v through_o all_o age_n but_o i_o shall_v express_v it_o thus_o true_a faith_n in_o god_n be_v entire_o believe_v and_o trust_v in_o god_n confide_v in_o his_o 8._o goodness_n resign_v up_o to_o his_o will_n obey_v his_o law_n and_o
