they_o that_o have_v receive_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o they_o especil_o be_v to_o make_v a_o special_a use_n of_o it_o for_o the_o other_o it_o can_v profit_v they_o unless_o that_o as_o the_o be_v not_o fear_v at_o all_o and_o which_o be_v more_o we_o can_v true_o believe_v the_o gracious_a help_n of_o god_n holy_a angel_n but_o seek_v after_o satan_n practice_n he_o mark_v that_o good_a these_o man_n what_o will_v people_n say_v of_o we_o they_o will_v count_v we_o atheist_n they_o will_v think_v we_o the_o wicked_a man_n in_o the_o world_n well_o for_o our_o instruction_n and_o consolation_n herein_o let_v we_o learn_v that_o these_o kind_n of_o temptation_n be_v either_o correction_n for_o some_o sin_n past_a or_o punishment_n for_o some_o sin_n present_a or_o forewarner_n of_o some_o sin_n to_o come_v we_o shall_v see_v many_o tempt_v to_o adultery_n who_o no_o doubt_n can_v be_v bring_v to_o commit_v it_o and_o yet_o because_o in_o their_o youth_n they_o have_v commit_v it_o and_o not_o repent_v of_o it_o it_o come_v to_o they_o again_o the_o like_a may_v be_v observe_v in_o theft_n in_o gluttony_n and_o in_o other_o temptation_n which_o be_v not_o so_o much_o send_v unto_o we_o present_o to_o overcome_v we_o as_o to_o put_v we_o in_o mind_n that_o sometime_o heretofore_o we_o have_v be_v overcome_v with_o they_o shall_v now_o repent_v for_o they_o sometime_o a_o man_n shall_v lie_v in_o some_o sin_n whereof_o when_o he_o will_v not_o be_v admonish_v neither_o by_o the_o public_a nor_o private_a mean_n than_o some_o other_o strange_a builder_n and_o not_o butcher_n and_o it_o be_v one_o thing_n general_o to_o apply_v and_o another_o particular_o to_o lay_v the_o medicine_n unto_o the_o wound_n it_o be_v good_a to_o begin_v with_o search_v first_o and_o to_o purge_v the_o sore_a by_o the_o vinegar_n of_o the_o law_n &_o after_o to_o supple_a it_o with_o the_o oil_n of_o the_o gospel_n both_o which_o must_v be_v do_v in_o wisdom_n use_v they_o to_o some_o in_o great_a to_o some_o in_o lesser_a measure_n for_o as_o some_o have_a nothing_o but_o a_o decay_n of_o nature_n &_o no_o mortal_a humour_n need_v rather_o restorative_n than_o purge_v medicine_n so_o some_o rather_o trouble_v for_o some_o spiritual_a want_n than_o for_o grosser_n sin_n need_v not_o so_o much_o the_o sharp_a threaten_n of_o the_o law_n as_o the_o sweet_a promise_n of_o the_o gospel_n as_o the_o body_n through_o some_o extraordinary_a repletion_n have_v get_v some_o great_a surfeit_n not_o so_o much_o to_o the_o weaken_n of_o nature_n as_o to_o the_o threaten_n of_o imminent_a death_n and_o therefore_o require_v rather_o some_o strong_a purgation_n than_o comfortable_a and_o cordial_a medicine_n even_o so_o the_o soul_n bring_v almost_o to_o death_n door_n with_o some_o extraordinary_a sin_n be_v rather_o to_o be_v bore_v and_o pierce_v with_o the_o denounce_v of_o god_n judgement_n than_o otherwise_o but_o because_o we_o will_v deal_v more_o plain_o and_o less_o confuse_o it_o be_v good_a in_o our_o access_n to_o afflict_a conscience_n to_o lay_v these_o two_o ground_n first_o we_o must_v persuade_v the_o person_n humble_v that_o their_o sin_n be_v pardonable_a &_o their_o sore_n curable_a and_o afflict_v after_o that_o this_o visitation_n be_v not_o so_o much_o a_o sign_n of_o god_n wrath_n and_o anger_n as_o a_o seal_n of_o his_o mercy_n and_o favour_n in_o that_o it_o be_v not_o either_o blind_a or_o barren_a but_o plentiful_a in_o good_a effect_n and_o fruitful_a in_o godly_a issue_n the_o former_a how_o needful_a it_o be_v the_o experience_n of_o so_o many_o almost_o as_o have_v be_v throw_v down_o be_v a_o sufficient_a witness_n who_o have_v have_v this_o as_o a_o tag_n tie_v to_o their_o temptation_n that_o never_o any_o be_v so_o plague_v as_o they_o none_o ever_o have_v the_o like_a temptation_n the_o lord_n will_v sure_o make_v a_o end_n of_o they_o in_o some_o strange_a and_o unknown_a temptation_n wherein_o they_o be_v not_o unlike_a unto_o man_n fall_v into_o some_o dangerous_a disease_n who_o think_v themselves_o to_o be_v without_o the_o fathom_n of_o the_o
