excellent_a as_o thou_o see_v they_o as_o thou_o apprehend_v they_o and_o grant_v it_o that_o thou_o be_v weak_a and_o full_a of_o many_o imperfection_n yet_o why_o shall_v this_o keep_v thou_o off_o be_v as_o other_o of_o the_o saint_n before_o thou_o do_v believe_v thou_o must_v believe_v before_o thou_o can_v be_v as_o other_o be_v that_o which_o put_v a_o difference_n between_o thou_o and_o humble_v thou_o never_o have_v experience_n of_o such_o legal_a break_n either_o none_o at_o all_o or_o not_o in_o that_o measure_n which_o other_o have_v have_v and_o thereupon_o thou_o conclude_v long_a conceal_n of_o his_o trouble_n as_o you_o see_v david_n psal_n 32._o 6._o or_o may_v be_v give_v credit_n to_o the_o lie_a suggestion_n of_o satan_n 7._o or_o may_v be_v his_o pride_n his_o unbelief_n jealousy_n frowardness_n of_o spirit_n as_o it_o be_v with_o such_o as_o will_v nourish_v themselves_o in_o a_o needless_a bondage_n and_o will_v not_o hearken_v after_o comfort_n make_v their_o chain_n heavy_a than_o god_n have_v make_v they_o who_o will_v not_o suffer_v a_o thought_n of_o hope_n or_o comfort_n to_o enter_v through_o the_o anguish_n of_o their_o bondage_n like_o the_o child_n of_o israel_n in_o egypt_n exod._n 6.9_o god_n send_v they_o delivery_n but_o they_o look_v not_o after_o it_o through_o the_o extremity_n of_o their_o bondage_n and_o be_v there_o any_o less_o humimiliation_n will_v serve_v their_o turn_n to_o prepare_v they_o for_o they_o but_o such_o as_o he_o intend_v for_o the_o main_a battle_n to_o be_v champion_n in_o his_o cause_n he_o do_v usual_o exercise_v with_o great_a difficulty_n that_o so_o they_o may_v not_o start_v aside_o in_o the_o day_n of_o trial_n 4._o some_o he_o intend_v to_o be_v pattern_n and_o example_n of_o mortification_n in_o the_o world_n and_o therefore_o carry_v they_o on_o with_o trouble_n of_o spirit_n and_o let_v they_o lie_v long_o in_o they_o that_o be_v raise_v up_o they_o may_v be_v dead_a to_o the_o world_n ever_o after_o thus_o you_o see_v the_o like_a measure_n be_v not_o necessary_a neither_o inrespect_n of_o god_n end_n nor_o in_o respect_n of_o yourselves_o and_o why_o then_o shall_v any_o man_n humiliation_n be_v a_o pattern_n for_o thou_o all_o that_o can_v be_v say_v in_o it_o be_v this_o that_o so_o much_o be_v require_v as_o to_o cast_v we_o out_o of_o ourselves_o make_v we_o weary_a of_o our_o sin_n willing_a to_o sell_v all_o cut_v off_o right_a hand_n pull_v out_o right_a eye_n to_o part_v with_o the_o dear_a and_o belove_a sin_n for_o christ_n we_o all_o comfort_n any_o may_v have_v get_v in_o the_o promise_n they_o be_v to_o yield_v up_o if_o they_o have_v not_o have_v the_o like_a measure_n that_o other_o have_v attain_v to_o and_o what_o perplexity_n fear_n doubt_n will_v so_o be_v leave_v in_o the_o conscience_n of_o man_n so_o that_o they_o will_v never_o find_v a_o bottom_n to_o stand_v on_o as_o in_o grace_n a_o man_n will_v never_o have_v comfort_n if_o his_o comfort_n be_v to_o arise_v from_o the_o measure_n and_o not_o from_o the_o truth_n so_o in_o humiliation_n many_o poor_a soul_n in_o take_v other_o for_o a_o pattern_n have_v lose_v the_o rule_n and_o put_v themselves_o into_o a_o great_a in_o capacity_n to_o close_v with_o the_o promise_n at_o a_o great_a distance_n from_o christ_n than_o they_o be_v before_o and_o have_v make_v themselves_o miserable_a for_o the_o present_a and_o for_o the_o future_a and_o so_o have_v go_v droop_v even_o to_o their_o grave_n and_o it_o have_v be_v better_a for_o many_o speaker_n and_o hearer_n too_o if_o this_o doctrine_n have_v be_v press_v more_o before_o how_o many_o have_v have_v their_o head_n break_v in_o piece_n with_o it_o and_o it_o be_v easy_a for_o of_o spirit_n be_v so_o offensive_a unto_o god_n i_o have_v give_v you_o many_o reason_n in_o my_o sabbath_n day_n discourse_n on_o the_o three_o of_o john_n why_o god_n be_v so_o severe_a against_o unbeleef_n all_o which_o will_v serve_v as_o so_o many_o demonstration_n of_o this_o point_n we_o will_v at_o this_o time_n add_v but_o these_o three_o more_o reas_n 1._o slowness_n of_o heart_n to_o a_o man_n etc._n etc._n which_o be_v more_o provoke_v because_o god_n have_v so_o far_o condescend_v to_o our_o weakness_n for_o our_o establishment_n that_o he_o have_v not_o only_o give_v we_o his_o promise_n his_o covenant_n his_o oath_n and_o seal_n and_o all_o to_o comfort_v we_o and_o if_o notwithstanding_o all_o this_o we_o shall_v nourish_v a_o spirit_n of_o jealousy_n and_o cherish_v our_o doubt_n and_o distrust_n this_o must_v needs_o be_v very_o displease_v unto_o god_n vae_fw-la nobis_fw-la si_fw-la nec_fw-la juranti_fw-la deo_fw-la credimus_fw-la aug._n if_o a_o man_n shall_v give_v be_v not_o in_o themselves_o immutable_o true_a because_o they_o be_v but_o creature_n but_o now_o god_n be_v he_o be_v truth_n itself_o no_o shadow_n of_o change_n in_o he_o nay_o and_o not_o only_o
