the_o right_a apply_v of_o the_o promise_n of_o life_n everlasting_a to_o the_o party_n distress_v and_o that_o be_v do_v by_o a_o kind_n of_o reason_v the_o first_o part_n whereof_o be_v take_v from_o god_n word_n the_o second_o from_o the_o testimony_n of_o the_o distress_a conscience_n and_o the_o conclusion_n be_v the_o apply_v of_o the_o promise_n on_o this_o manner_n he_o that_o maior_n have_v a_o unfeigned_a desire_n to_o repent_v and_o believe_v have_v remission_n of_o sin_n and_o life_n everlasting_a minor_n but_o thou_o have_v a_o earnest_a desire_n to_o repent_v and_o believe_v the_o promise_n thus_o apply_v may_v have_v good_a success_n these_o rule_n must_v necessary_o be_v observe_v i._o one_o be_v that_o the_o comfort_n which_o be_v minister_v be_v delay_v with_o some_o mixture_n of_o the_o law_n that_o be_v to_o say_v the_o promise_n alone_o must_v not_o be_v apply_v but_o withal_o mention_n be_v to_o be_v make_v of_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o party_n and_o of_o the_o the_o great_a if_o it_o be_v delay_v with_o some_o tartenesse_n of_o the_o law_n ii_o another_o rule_n be_v this_o if_o the_o distress_a party_n be_v much_o possess_v with_o grief_n of_o himself_o five_o the_o party_n that_o be_v to_o comfort_n must_v bear_v with_o all_o the_o want_n of_o the_o distress_a as_o with_o their_o frowardness_n peevishness_n rashness_n and_o with_o their_o distemper_a and_o disorder_a affection_n and_o action_n yea_o he_o must_v put_v upon_o he_o as_o it_o be_v their_o person_n be_v affect_v with_o their_o misery_n and_o touch_v with_o their_o sorrow_n as_o if_o they_o be_v his_o own_o grieve_v when_o he_o see_v they_o to_o grieve_v weep_v when_o they_o do_v weep_v and_o lament_v vi_o six_o he_o that_o be_v the_o comforter_n must_v not_o be_v

will_n and_o therefore_o no_o marvel_n though_o we_o be_v impatient_a answ._n when_o cross_n do_v come_v from_o man_n god_n use_v they_o as_o instrument_n to_o execute_v his_o judgement_n upon_o we_o
