church_n of_o rome_n the_o school_n in_o the_o nature_n of_o justification_n and_o the_o effect_n of_o infuse_a righteousness_n to_o which_o they_o ascribe_v it_o be_v no_o way_n destructive_a to_o christianity_n no_o more_o be_v the_o opinion_n of_o satisfaction_n and_o merit_n in_o the_o good_a work_n of_o christian_n so_o long_o as_o it_o be_v ground_v upon_o god_n promise_n which_o they_o that_o inflame_v that_o opinion_n to_o the_o high_a in_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n must_v acknowledge_v to_o come_v into_o consideration_n whether_o they_o will_v or_o not_o as_o for_o the_o merit_n of_o trent_n threaten_v as_o for_o the_o question_n between_o man_n free_a will_n and_o god_n praedestination_n grace_n how_o salvation_n be_v concern_v in_o the_o matter_n of_o free_a will_n and_o grace_n and_o grace_n take_v it_o by_o itself_o as_o not_o complicate_v and_o twist_v with_o the_o other_o concern_v justify_v faith_n the_o difficulty_n of_o it_o be_v so_o great_a as_o it_o be_v the_o true_a resolution_n of_o it_o which_o be_v the_o reconcilement_n of_o grace_n with_o free_a will_n can_v by_o no_o mean_n seem_v to_o concern_v the_o substance_n of_o faith_n necessary_a to_o be_v hold_v for_o the_o salvation_n of_o all_o christian_n but_o the_o deny_v either_o of_o man_n free_a will_n or_o god_n free_a grace_n may_v and_o certain_o do_v concern_v it_o and_o therefore_o the_o second_o council_n of_o orange_n have_v determine_v as_o well_o that_o no_o man_n be_v appoint_v by_o god_n to_o death_n and_o therefore_o to_o sin_v as_o that_o whosoever_o persevere_fw-la indifferent_a and_o some_o of_o our_o fanatic_n to_o think_v it_o a_o mere_a mistake_n that_o any_o man_n be_v ever_o baptize_v with_o water_n to_o make_v he_o a_o christian_a since_o the_o cease_n of_o moses_n law_n and_o john_n baptism_n as_o for_o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o eucharist_n that_o which_o concern_v salvation_n in_o it_o be_v manifest_a admit_v the_o premise_n namely_o that_o they_o who_o make_v good_a or_o revive_v the_o covenant_n of_o their_o baptism_n in_o receive_v it_o shall_v receive_v the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o christ_n and_o by_o consequence_n his_o spirit_n hypostatical_o unite_v to_o the_o
deliver_v by_o the_o letter_n of_o moses_n law_n whereas_o indeed_o and_o in_o truth_n the_o moral_a precept_n of_o god_n natural_a law_n though_o of_o great_a consequence_n to_o the_o everlasting_a man_n to_o christian_n how_o the_o spiritual_a sense_n of_o the_o decalogue_n concern_v christian_n see_v that_o sense_n which_o the_o plain_a letter_n of_o the_o decalogue_n signify_v be_v transport_v with_o a_o prejudice_n that_o the_o moral_a law_n signify_v as_o much_o to_o the_o jew_n and_o require_v as_o great_a duty_n of_o they_o as_o the_o exposition_n of_o they_o preach_v by_o moses_n law_n be_v â—he_n heresy_n of_o the_o scribe_n and_o pharisee_n promise_v everlasting_a life_n in_o recompense_n of_o the_o outward_a observe_v of_o it_o whereas_o the_o law_n indeed_o in_o expectation_n of_o the_o messiah_n his_o come_n so_o the_o decalogue_n be_v the_o brief_a of_o those_o condition_n upon_o which_o god_n contract_v with_o the_o generality_n of_o that_o people_n for_o the_o land_n of_o promise_n carry_v not_o with_o it_o the_o least_o presumption_n in_o reason_n that_o whatsoever_o it_o contain_v be_v either_o moral_a or_o perpetual_o positive_a to_o wit_n the_o bondage_n of_o it_o must_v they_o not_o all_o say_v that_o god_n have_v deliver_v they_o from_o the_o bondage_n of_o sin_n and_o satan_n correspondent_a to_o it_o may_v not_o all_o true_a israelite_n in_o who_o be_v no_o guile_n say_v the_o same_o in_o regard_n of_o that_o worship_n of_o idol_n which_o all_o other_o nation_n be_v enslave_v with_o and_o the_o sin_n to_o which_o it_o engage_v therefore_o a_o jew_n understand_v this_o first_o precept_n to_o be_v the_o chief_a point_n of_o his_o law_n that_o he_o acknowledge_v but_o one_o god_n but_o that_o one_o who_o his_o all_o his_o do_n renounce_v all_o respect_n to_o the_o pleasure_n or_o profit_n or_o honour_n and_o greatness_n of_o this_o world_n so_o far_o as_o it_o be_v not_o the_o mean_n to_o serve_v god_n acknowledge_v that_o when_o he_o decline_v from_o this_o resolution_n he_o make_v his_o belly_n his_o god_n or_o his_o riches_n his_o idol_n as_o st._n paul_n say_v or_o rather_o the_o devil_n that_o offer_v he_o some_o little_a part_n of_o that_o which_o our_o lord_n refuse_v in_o gross_a the_o god_n who_o he_o worship_v the_o second_o commandment_n set_v forth_o god_n for_o a_o god_n manifest_a how_o much_o idolatry_n be_v advance_v by_o imagery_n though_o it_o may_v be_v without_o it_o there_o can_v be_v no_o marvel_n that_o there_o shall_v be_v a_o peculiar_a precept_n against_o it_o wherefore_o it_o be_v manifest_a that_o jew_n by_o the_o letter_n of_o this_o precept_n be_v tie_v from_o all_o image_n which_o their_o elder_n who_o have_v the_o power_n of_o limit_v what_o be_v
