chost_n etc._n etc._n in_o which_o word_n we_o be_v to_o observe_v three_o thing_n especial_o 1_o what_o baptism_n do_v outward_o it_o do_v visible_o sign_n and_o seal_n regeneration_n and_o be_v not_o only_o a_o bare_a sign_n of_o profession_n etc._n etc._n 2_o what_o inward_o tbey_v that_o receive_v it_o right_o be_v graft_v into_o the_o church_n the_o promise_n of_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n and_o of_o adoption_n to_o be_v the_o sonnne_n of_o god_n by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n 3_o who_o they_o be_v that_o be_v partaker_n of_o this_o inward_a grace_n they_o that_o receive_v it_o right_o and_o this_o the_o article_n deliver_v indefinite_o which_o in_o common_a construction_n of_o logic_n must_v be_v understand_v as_o exclude_v none_o in_o the_o ordinary_a course_n a_o indefinite_a proposition_n in_o a_o matter_n necessary_a be_v equivalent_a to_o a_o universal_a so_o then_o we_o be_v now_o come_v home_o to_o the_o very_a head_n of_o the_o point_n viz_o that_o all_o elect_a infant_n by_o the_o doctrine_n of_o our_o church_n be_v ordinary_o partaker_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o baptism_n for_o they_o that_o receive_v it_o right_o all_o that_o so_o receive_v it_o be_v partaker_n of_o the_o spirit_n object_n but_o soft_a and_o fair_a the_o article_n say_v not_o all_o elect_a infant_n but_o they_o that_o receive_v it_o right_o answ_n answ_n the_o article_n in_o those_o word_n speak_v the_o same_o thing_n for_o substance_n that_o i_o now_o contend_v for_o as_o may_v appear_v by_o show_v what_o it_o mean_v by_o receive_v right_o to_o receive_v baptism_n right_o import_v two_o thing_n viz._n 1_o that_o baptism_n be_v for_o matter_n and_o form_v the_o same_o that_o christ_n appoint_v namely_o that_o the_o baptise_a party_n be_v dip_v in_o or_o sprinkle_v with_o water_n in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o father_n and_o of_o the_o son_n and_o holy_a chost_n with_o all_o due_a reverence_n for_o the_o manner_n also_o 2_o that_o the_o person_n to_o be_v baptize_v be_v sufficient_o qualify_v to_o give_v he_o right_o to_o baptism_n viz._n that_o he_o be_v within_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n at_o least_o so_o far_o forth_o as_o the_o church_n can_v judge_v of_o he_o else_o he_o do_v but_o usurp_v the_o ordinance_n for_o what_o have_v he_o to_o do_v with_o the_o seal_n of_o the_o covenant_n if_o he_o be_v not_o comprise_v in_o the_o covenant_n now_o then_o to_o qualify_v a_o infant_n it_o be_v sufficient_a that_o he_o be_v within_o the_o covenant_n if_o he_o be_v bear_v of_o christian_a parent_n he_o be_v so_o far_o forth_o to_o be_v hold_v within_o the_o covenant_n that_o the_o church_n ought_v to_o admit_v he_o to_o baptism_n if_o he_o be_v present_v to_o it_o but_o yet_o we_o say_v not_o that_o he_o be_v instant_o or_o at_o all_o partaker_n of_o the_o inward_a grace_n of_o baptism_n unless_o he_o be_v true_o in_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n and_o under_o election_n howbeit_o suppose_v he_o to_o be_v such_o a_o one_o we_o say_v that_o this_o be_v enough_o to_o make_v he_o capable_a of_o the_o spirit_n and_o to_o receive_v the_o sacrament_n of_o baptism_n right_o for_o more_o than_o this_o be_v not_o require_v at_o his_o hand_n by_o the_o consent_n of_o all_o judicious_a divine_n that_o understand_v what_o they_o say_v or_o whereof_o they_o affirm_v and_o it_o be_v a_o blind_a conceit_n of_o anabaptist_n to_o say_v that_o no_o infant_n be_v capable_a of_o the_o inward_a grace_n of_o baptism_n unless_o they_o have_v actual_a faith_n and_o do_v actual_o believe_v but_o least_o any_o shall_v take_v offence_n if_o i_o bring_v not_o proof_n of_o what_o i_o say_v i_o will_v produce_v a_o few_o of_o many_o divine_n that_o plain_o affirm_v that_o it_o be_v not_o require_v of_o infant_n that_o they_o have_v actual_a faith_n to_o make_v they_o capable_a of_o the_o inward_a grace_n of_o baptism_n &_o that_o notwithstanding_o they_o want_v that_o faith_n they_o may_v and_o do_v partake_v of_o the_o inward_a grace_n by_o the_o spirit_n for_o this_o purpose_n i_o propound_v unto_o you_o 1_o peter_n martyr_v in_o jnfant_n say_v he_o who_o by_o reason_n of_o their_o tender_a year_n can_v
