these_o word_n of_o our_o saviour_n no_o other_o substance_n be_v raise_v but_o what_o hear_v his_o voice_n and_o no_o other_o substance_n hear_v his_o voice_n but_o what_o be_v call_v come_v out_o of_o the_o grave_a and_o no_o other_o substance_n come_v out_o of_o the_o grave_a but_o what_o be_v in_o the_o grave_a any_o one_o must_v conclude_v that_o the_o soul_n unless_o it_o be_v in_o the_o and_o which_o therefore_o according_a to_o your_o principle_n must_v be_v less_o credible_a than_o other_o article_n that_o create_v less_o difficulty_n to_o the_o understanding_n for_o your_o lordship_n say_v 28._o that_o you_o appeal_v to_o any_o man_n of_o sense_n whether_o to_o a_o man_n who_o think_v by_o his_o principle_n he_o can_v from_o natural_a ground_n demonstrate_v the_o immortality_n of_o the_o soul_n the_o find_v the_o uncertainty_n of_o those_o principle_n he_o go_v upon_o in_o point_n of_o reason_n i._n e._n the_o find_n he_o can_v not_o certain_o prove_v it_o by_o natural_a reason_n do_v not_o weaken_v the_o credibility_n of_o that_o fundamental_a article_n when_o it_o be_v consider_v pure_o as_o a_o matter_n of_o faith_n which_o in_o effect_n i_o humble_o conceive_v amount_v to_o this_o that_o a_o proposition_n divine_o reveal_v that_o can_v be_v prove_v by_o natural_a reason_n be_v less_o credible_a than_o one_o that_o can_v which_o seem_v to_o i_o to_o come_v very_o little_a short_a of_o this_o with_o due_a reverence_n be_v it_o speak_v that_o god_n be_v less_o to_o be_v believe_v when_o he_o affirm_v a_o proposition_n that_o can_v be_v prove_v by_o natural_a reason_n than_o when_o he_o propose_v what_o can_v be_v prove_v by_o it_o the_o direct_a contrary_n to_o which_o be_v my_o opinion_n though_o you_o endeavour_v to_o make_v good_a by_o these_o follow_a word_n 29._o if_o the_o evidence_n of_o faith_n fall_v so_o much_o short_a of_o that_o of_o reason_n it_o must_v needs_o have_v less_o effect_n upon_o man_n mind_n when_o the_o subserviency_n of_o reason_n be_v take_v away_o as_o it_o must_v be_v when_o the_o ground_n of_o certainty_n by_o reason_n be_v vanish_v be_v it_o at_o all_o probable_a that_o he_o who_o find_v his_o reason_n deceive_v he_o in_o such_o fundamental_a point_n shall_v have_v his_o faith_n stand_v firm_a and_o unmoveable_a on_o the_o account_n of_o revelation_n than_o which_o i_o think_v there_o be_v hardly_o plain_a word_n to_o be_v find_v out_o to_o declare_v that_o the_o credibility_n of_o god_n testimony_n depend_v on_o the_o natural_a evidence_n or_o probability_n of_o the_o thing_n we_o receive_v from_o revelation_n and_o rise_v and_o fall_v with_o it_o and_o that_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n or_o the_o article_n of_o mere_a faith_n lose_v so_o much_o of_o their_o credibility_n as_o they_o want_v proof_n from_o reason_n which_o if_o true_a revelation_n may_v come_v to_o have_v no_o credibility_n at_o all_o
