the_o best_a and_o a_o lively_a faith_n rest_v upon_o the_o rich_a and_o precious_a promise_n of_o god_n reveal_v in_o his_o holy_a word_n they_o be_v thing_n quite_o out_o of_o their_o element_n and_o such_o as_o they_o be_v whole_o ignorant_a of_o and_o therefore_o no_o marvel_n if_o they_o be_v so_o far_o to_o seek_v in_o this_o high_a and_o holy_a learning_n 6._o but_o may_v there_o not_o in_o the_o three_o place_n be_v shape_v at_o least_o may_v there_o not_o be_v imagine_v a_o fitness_n and_o competency_n of_o outward_a thing_n in_o such_o a_o mediocrity_n of_o proportion_n every_o way_n unto_o a_o man_n hope_n and_o desire_n as_o that_o contentment_n will_v arise_v from_o it_o of_o itself_o and_o that_o the_o party_n can_v not_o choose_v but_o rest_v satisfy_v therewithal_o nothing_o less_o for_o first_o experience_n show_v we_o that_o contentment_n arise_v not_o from_o the_o thing_n but_o from_o the_o mind_n even_o by_o this_o that_o discontent_n take_v both_o soon_a and_o sore_a of_o the_o great_a and_o wealthy_a man_n which_o will_v not_o be_v if_o greatness_n or_o wealth_n be_v the_o main_a thing_n require_v to_o breed_v contentment_n second_o those_o man_n that_o can_v not_o frame_v their_o heart_n to_o contentment_n when_o they_o have_v less_o will_v be_v as_o far_o from_o it_o if_o ever_o they_o shall_v have_v more_o for_o their_o desire_n and_o the_o thing_n will_v still_o keep_v at_o a_o distance_n because_o as_o the_o thing_n come_v on_o so_o their_o desire_n come_v on_o too_o as_o in_o a_o coach_n though_o it_o hurry_v away_o never_o so_o fast_o yet_o the_o hinder_a wheel_n will_v still_o be_v behind_o the_o former_a as_o much_o as_o they_o be_v before_o and_o therefore_o our_o apostle_n in_o the_o next_o verse_n make_v it_o a_o point_n of_o equal_a skill_n and_o of_o like_a deep_a learning_n to_o know_v how_o to_o be_v full_a as_o well_o as_o how_o to_o be_v hungry_a and_o how_o to_o abound_v as_o well_o as_o how_o to_o suffer_v need_n three_o it_o be_v impossible_a that_o contentment_n shall_v arise_v from_o these_o thing_n because_o contentment_n suppose_v a_o sufficiency_n 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d suppose_v but_o he_o can_v espy_v something_o or_o other_o want_v tamen_fw-la curtoe_n nescio_fw-la quid_fw-la semper_fw-la abest_fw-la rei_fw-la 23._o and_o many_o time_n all_o he_o have_v do_v he_o not_o so_o much_o pleasure_n as_o the_o want_n of_o that_o one_o thing_n torture_v he_o as_o all_o haman_n wealth_n and_o honour_n and_o favour_n with_o 13._o the_o king_n and_o power_n in_o the_o court_n avail_v he_o nothing_o for_o want_v of_o mordecai_n knee_n and_o ahab_n can_v not_o be_v merry_a nor_o sleep_n nor_o eat_v bread_n though_o he_o sway_v 4._o the_o sceptre_n of_o a_o mighty_a kingdom_n for_o want_v of_o naboth_n vineyard_n or_o if_o we_o can_v suppose_v contentment_n shall_v arise_v from_o the_o thing_n yet_o four_a it_o can_v have_v no_o stability_n nor_o certainty_n of_o continuance_n because_o the_o thing_n themselves_o be_v subject_a to_o casualty_n and_o vicissitude_n and_o the_o mind_n of_o a_o man_n that_o
